long day of formatting a book for an ePub file... It's like going back to 1980 with those ancient pre-html commands. I do a lot of work in tables, it makes lists easy to deal with but ePub doesn't know tables. I had to take screen shots of my tables, save them as .jpg files and use them in the appendix of my book. It's ugly but it works

Finally a nice day here. Highs into the 40's (low 40's, but still well above freezing.) Also bright sunshine. Hoping it will clear the solar panels.

I've got part of one class still to grade out (about 60 individual items left to grade). Then I get to write again.

New story went up last night. Premise is giggle-worthy, MMC and longtime FFWB sending each other big spreadsheets documenting their "notches" in a metaphorical dick-length contest. Have another tale in suspended animation at the moment, fouling the system by uploading an edited file after it had been approved and declared "NEW" with a pub date, but not "published" yet. Might have to DM Laurel if it spends more than a couple of days in purgatory. We'll see.

Weather here is weird. After lows in the single digits this past weekend, it is currently 54° and is supposed to rain on us pretty good in a couple of hours. Slated for mid-30s tomorrow, then back to the mid-50s for Saturday and beyond. 10-day forecasts 60s for Christmas. TV weatherdweeb keeps mentioning, "No white Christmas this year," but to his credit pointed out that in the entire history of local weather recording, only 9% of Christmases have been white. Take that, Currier and Ives!

Hi all! Haven't been around much this week - too busy recovering from having surgery on my surgery. The hospital wifi locks me out of LitE and I am trying to be conservative with my phone data.

But I think (fingers crossed!) that I am FINALLY on the mend! They found a SEVEN CENTIMETER abscess in my abdomen that was the source of all my troubles. (No wonder I was in pain!)

Now I have a big drain tube sticking out of me but I get to go home tomorrow afternoon. Instead of 2 weeks recovery I will be off work for a further 8, but I am lucky enough that my employer will give me the time fully paid.

Hopefully i will feel well enough to do more writing again soon.
