The AH Coffee Shop and Reading Room 09

Couple of propane fireplaces serve my heating needs.

Window AC for cooling.

Easy and relatively cheap to replace if they fail.

With so few moving parts and electronics, there isn't much to fail to begin with.

I have my follow on appointment with my surgeon tomorrow. I'm overall happy with almost everything, I'm back to doing almost everything I could 16 months ago, pre-injury, including grocery shopping, cooking, and driving, although I've not tried driving more than a few minutes yet.

Stairs still give me some problems and the damned knee hurts regularly. I don;t like taking any form of painkiller, but I've been using tylenol as many days as not over the last week. I've been told to expect another month or two of pain, before it clears up. I'm hoping so.

And the damned weather keeps promising that it will be warmer next week, but always moves out another week when it gets closer. We have not seen a temperature as warm as freezing in two weeks and nothing forecast in the next ten days either. I've never been a big fan of the winters up here, I grew up south of the Masin Dixon line, but this has been the coldest winter in two decades.
glad to hear that some progress is being made- in our age range, we take what we can get.

Thirty degrees this AM (@Rustyoznail that's -1 down under. I think it's -2@ in Newfoundland)
I still don't have a windshield scraper!

Oh well. I have been looking for a .stl file for a soda can holder that I can print up for my beer fridge and every plan I found is for some bizarre can size that doesn't exist in the USA
WE NEED TO STANDARDIZE CAN SIZES!!! This is a global crisis, who knew that 355ml cans were rare on the global scale???

If it's about a holder, then isn't the radius what you care about, not volume? And you probably have some leeway, too, so I'd think you can hit at least two of the three common can radii (e.g. soda and beer, but not the narrow Red Bull cans).

Another cold dreary morning with an Alberta Clipper passing through. We're supposed to get 1 to 2 inches of snow but so far I don't see any flakes falling. The radar is showing it passing north of us so I doubt we'll get very much.

There's fresh coffee brewing and the teapot is hot. There are snacks on the counter and as soon as I can scare up some buttermilk I'll get a cornbread made. The plot bunnies are underfoot but at least they aren;t getting up on the counter and into the snacks.

I'll be over in the corner working on my story. I didn't get a lot of words down yesterday but I did get some research done. I really hope I can get this story done the way I want it.

It's a bright and sunny morning, and our temperatures are headed above 60F. That's way above normal. I won't worry. We have three days of rain ahead of us--the last three days of the 10-day outlook

"Stardust" is the second amaryllis to open. "Emerald" is behind it.

The flower facing the camera is six inches across. I have the same variety in two pots, and both will flower.

I discovered today that our neighbours leccy went off too so it probably wasn’t our fault
Would I be out of line to suggest a series of experiments over the course of the next fortnight? You know, with varying times of day, different positions, different places in the house, that kind of variables. Now that you've raised the issue, scientific minds want to know. 🫣

I don't think it was causality - just coincidence. Whilst the prospect of having sex continually for a fortnight makes sense, our power supply is pretty reliable.

Hobbling in to check on the coffee and snacks before calling it a night. My knee has decided to swell up and start hurting again so, despite the blood pressure, I'm going to start taking the Meloxicam again.
Put a few pillows under your leg to elevate it. It'll feel weird to sleep like that, but it absolutely helps with that sort of knee pain if you don't have/want ice. If you sleep on your side, a lie on the side opposite the knee that's hurting and put a pillow between your legs, it'll also elevate it and provide some cushioning.
