The amicas mistake

I for one learned something from the Amicus Thread.

I put him on Ignore for releif, before I could respond to another one of his posts.

That is how I learned that when you put someone on Ignore it not only closes up their posts, but also, any thread that they have started, vanishes. I didn’t know that before.

Probably because, I have never put anyone on Ignore before. Not on a Billboard — only obnoxious Chatters.

To be certain, I tested it. I temporarily put ChilledVodka on Ignore and the Forum got appreciably shorter.

Anytime I learn something from a thead, I can't call it a total waste.

But -- I didn't learn anything from Amicus' thread until I ignored him.

I use virtual ignore.

I can still see the threads but I ignore any that I know will be a waste of time.

Then I am happily surprised when a person I thought was a waste of space actually expresses something worthwhile.

I would be surprised if amicus ever did that.

I just replied for the last time. His last post was so appaling I had to say something. Now I'm done.

Thank you for "saying something."

I'm so pissed I'm way past coherence.

You're welcome. :rose:

I'm still aggraveted. I'm sitting at my desk for a while, if I go out in the field I'll probablly end up taking it out on someone else.

Spoken from my soul, Oggs.

I've just put that sick little fuck on my Ignore list.

I actually got angry at that 'cannibal' post. I'm not talking hot rage anger, it was that cold, cold wrath that chills your heart.

Had he said such a thing in my actual presence I would have acted in a manner that would send me to the gallows.

And I would walk up those stairs cheerfully, knowing I had removed a cancerous blight from the human race.

Thank you, RG. :rose:

I felt huge rage also. Also frustration that such an attitude still exists. But, I countered with education, so that maybe one person with curiousity could learn about people he was calling intellectual inferior cannibals with no culture.

Amicus

I have teased him about acting like a child wanting attention and I actually think there may be some truth to it.

It seems to me that he will say anything he thinks will stir everyone up and draw attention to himself.

Good luck with that, cloudy.

Bigots have an amazing capacity to filter out information that doesn't support their views. As Amicus has explained in another thread, facts can't be trusted because the historic record is incomplete.

Yes, yes, yes, but what mildly amuses me everytime, and I am amused most of the time, ;) is that the threads started by . . . what some of you have said in so FEW words - lol  . . . are the ones that last the longest, and WOW: get the most posts.

Shakespeare was incomplete:

To be, or not to be . . . masochistic. :D That is the . . .

I have resorted to ellipses- kill me now!

It wouldn't surprise me if he didn't bother to read it. Nor does it bother me much, to be honest.

I got a PM today, and several in the past, asking for information, so decided to post it.

If he wants to think that a rich culture with a long tradition of honor is one filled with people of sub-normal intellect, then that's his priviledge, I guess. Just makes him look foolish.

~Cloudy - retarded cannibal

The really frightening thing to remember is that in Germany in the 1930s if you opposed views similar to Amicus' - you (and your family) would be sent to a Concentration Camp for re-education.

Their creed:
'Women should breed new members of the Master Race'
"Any imperfect people should be sterilised - any mental handicap might be a death sentence - and if you are a Jew or a Gypsy you won't live as a full citizen - if you live."

People still say similar things today but opposing their views is not a crime in Europe and the US. Elsewhere? It depends.

Amicus Thread

Can we please just stop responding to that thread so it will just DIE! MyGod, it has to be the most painful and useless waste of time I have ever had the misfortune to be party to.

I know, I know, I KNOW! I'm guilty!

I responded earlier because it was the first damn thing to greet me this morning.

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

I have no willpower - either with salted and heavily buttered popcorn or responding to misguided assholes.

I promise I won't respond again - or you can tie me up and take away my charge cards!

:)

You're so lucky that you missed the Homer thread. I still get angry when I remember how people made fun of that poor squirrel.

I'd say: BINGO! He's moved to another thread with an equally absurd posting.
