The amicas mistake

I am so confused.............what's going on? Why are really, really, really old threads appearing on the front page?????????

Looks like someone wants to discredit the Usual Suspect thesis that life was grand before the trash moved into the AH neighborhood.

I was noticing that too. All the threads were from 2005. I guess someone's reminiscing about the good old days of what was. They do say everything that's old is new again at some point. I don't mind as long as the current ones can still make their way back onto the front page.

Well, I think SR started it last night. Some really great old threads have come to the front.

As our new buddy, Prem, said on another thread, "What's old is new again!" :D

Is there an actual lifespan for a thread? I seen mention that people get upset when others bump old threads to the front of the line again. If a topic is still viable to talk about, even if it's one, two or even five years old, why can't that subject still be discussed?

I'm so impressed PREM with how fast you've gotten up to speed and joined in the group dynamics! It's taken months, and I'm still sorting it out.

Nope. Stella and SSS were the first to bump the olden threads. Then SR bumped a few newer ones in a counter-jest. Then amicus dug up some oldies.

I bumped some old threads. Just me.

Interesting and funny topics, yes? Does it matter that they're old?

Some fine and friendly and brilliant folks represented.

I didn't realize others were furiously bumping in response.

well thank you Miss Honey, I'm just trying to get a fix on where things stand and how to fit into it all. Already got told my AV isn't appropriate for a porn site. I thought that was a bit much, don't you think?

We're not saying it's not appropriate, just that some of us don't want to look at it. I personally don't care what someone's av is. I have no right to tell them what to post or not post as their av. If I don't like it, I'll use my image blocking software to block it and never have to see it.

Sorry, Auntie.

I was feeling nostalgic and missing old friends last night.

:rose:

I am so lost.

Can't find ongoing conversations anymore. Gotta start subscribing to them.

Nice too see we're all getting along though ;)

Not to worry Darling, I know the threads you like. I'll get them back on top for you. Or do you like to be on top?

I like to be dominated a bit...depends on the day ;) I'll let you take the top today

Nice. I like sharing. Sharing is good. I'll take the first shift and later on you can ride me like the wild woman you are. I only ask one favor, please don't sign your signature on my back with your nails.

No, take a look all those 2005 threads were brought up by Sweetsubsarah. All you have to do is scroll back to the hop in posting dates. Ask Sweets why she bumped them.

What I bumped up were writing threads and the regular daily socializing threads--so they wouldn't get buried too deeply.

DRIPSTICK was born a day late and a dollar short. She's earning a PhD in nails.

Aww Jim, that's not nice. She's a sweet thing and needs our help to get up to speed. Give her a few pointers, along with the rest of the people and I bet she surprises you with some of her brilliance. She got this far on her own, didn't she?

Amicus' tone has changed in the years since this thread was started.

When he does post, he is less dogmatic and more inclined to respond to what is said in reply, rather than selecting a view that the responder didn't have.

That is not to say that what he says cannot offend. Some of his statements are based on such wild interpretations of statistics that they need to be challenged.

However, the 2009 Amicus is much more courteous than the 2005 one.

I understand completely, I often feel like that. No disrespect to the people here now, but I'm an old lady and I'm entitled to wonder where my old friends have got to, and what they'reb up to.
