The Cavern (closed)

"A man needs kids. Who else would carry on his family name?" Kal asked, totally confused. The concept of willingly choosing to not have kids was strange to him. Again, Kal couldn't help but to take in Giselle's beauty. He unconsciously licked his lips as some very impure thoughts flashed through his mind. He had to look away from her before his eyes gave it away. How a man could choose not to mate with her was beyond him.

Someone calling to her.

Tallos a nomad who came by to trade with her.

I... How do I...

With that she was back in her meditation room.

Kal...?

Was it all a dream? Or the cursed land? Would she ever see him again? She could not think about that now she had business to attend to.

Before his very eyes, Giselle disappeared. He rose from his seat, his sword already unsheathed. As he backed away from the table he kept his head on a swivel, his gaze sweeping the cave in search of the mysterious woman. When it was clear that he was alone, he put his sword away.

From the entrance of the cave, hooves could be heard. Kal strode to the mouth of the cave confidently. He had business to attend to.

She asked Tallos about the cursed land and from everything he told her it was a magic about the place. A silent smile that grew. Perhaps she would see him again perhaps if one of them was in need. After all she had been hurting because of her ex husband. She had to see Kal again.

Just as he had thought. When Kal approached the mouth of the cave, treasure hunters were gearing up to enter the cavern. The fools thought the cavern harboured gold and jewels.

"This cavern is under the protection of House Stryker!" Kal called out as he drew sword yet again. "If any of you dare to enter this cave, I will cut you down." The three hunters before him merely sniggered at his warning and jumped down from their horses.

"You're outnumbered, boy. You're in no position to make threats." One of the Hunters answered. Kal replied by lunging forward and slashing his sword laterally, damn near taking the man's head off. Now it was down to two to 1.

"Argh!" Kal cried out as he felt a sharp sting in his shoulder. One of the other hunters had gotten the drop on him and managed to catch him right in the shoulder. He spun around and plunged his sword into the man's gut. Before the hunter's body could fall to the ground, his remaining companion fled, desperately heading back to the nearest city. Kal's city.

As he stood there, Kal's vision became blurry. "Poison?" Kal asked. "A coward's weapon!" He shouted and spat on the floor. Kal stumbled back to the cave, hoping it's magic would protect him.

Once she had finished her trade with Tallos she felt drawn to return to her meditation room. Sitting properly cross legged on the cushion eyes closed as she meditated only to find herself back in the cave however the bed like meditation cushion and platform was with her. She looked around but did not see him right away. She became worried as if she had some strange confirmation of it only bringing them together in a time of need. That fear gave her voice as she called to him.

KAL? Are you here? Is everything alright? Where are you?

"Giselle." Kal croaked weakly. He had collapsed along the back wall of the cave. The poison doing its work well. Kal stretched his arm out to her. "Poisoned. I've been poisoned."

Poison... She had some understanding but little knowledge of poisons of the area. She moved to try to help him to the cushion and looking around as if silently asking the cave for help. A strange plant she had never noticed before seemed to have grown out of the rock and some ancient linen bandages as well as some modern medicine appeared as she moved to wash the blood from the wound then closing her eyes she trusted the strange guidance and placed leaves from the plant into the wound and seeing it seem to thicken as if absorbing something and a strange odor escaped the wound as she removed the leaves and then wrapped the bandages around more of the leaves in the wound along with antibiotic ointment to prevent infection.

She looked to him scared hoping he was alright.

Kal?

Kal opened his eyes. "Giselle?" Kal asked. " I fought with some treasure hunters. They intended to raid the cave. I slayed all but one of them." Kal explained. Kal tried to sit up and look around. "I don't know if there will be more of them or not. It may not be safe for you here."

It... It brought me back here because... You were hurt. Just... Just as it brought me here when I was upset and hurting over my ex.

She shook her head. It sounded insane yet... Here they were and she hoped she had healed him. The thought of losing him strangely scared her.

"Giselle. If they come back. I may not be able to protect you." Kal said in a voice barely above a whisper. "It seems the cavern's magic only works to transport you here, otherwise we could both escape. You must go." Kal demanded. "I will hold them off. The medicine you have given me is already starting to work."

Kal places his hand against the wall, grunting in pain as he tries to stand.

I am not helpless I will not leave you to danger either. If this cave can bring me here why can it not take you to my time?

The swirling that had brought to them the food earlier now revealed them back in her meditation room the image of the cave ghosting around them protectively.

Well apparently it can... This is my meditation room.

Kal's eyes widen as he notices the sudden change in his surrounding. "Is this the poison? Or the magic of the cave?" His heart raced for a few brief seconds before he realized there were no immediate threats, then he collapsed against the wall again.

"Where are we? Are we safe?"

Yes... Yes we are. This... This is my meditation room where it seems I need to be for the cave to bring me to your time. All that is in the desert now are my animals some nomads my home and mountains and dunes.

She looked around and tried to help him to the meditation couch to rest.

"So this is where you live?" Kal asked as he tried to distract himself from the pain. "Its.....nice. It seems to suit you. " Kal said while lowering himself to the couch. Kal turned to look Giselle in the eye.

"You've got to promise not to return to the cave. It is very dangerous there right now and I won't even have my men with me to secure the area. I don't want you getting hurt."

You cannot go back there... Not like this.

His concern for her was so sweet and heart warming that not all men were like her ex. Kal didn't make it sound like demands he was nicer in his... Requests.

I will attempt not to return for now but it seems that if one of us are in need the cave has a mind of its own.

"By now, my men would have noticed I have not returned. I am sure they will come to investigate soon. The only question is will they beat the treasure hunters?" Kal mused aloud. He decided that he would stay here until he could move on his own and not need support.

"I Honestly just wish I had a bath available to right now. This blood and sweat and dirt from the cave is probably not helping my wound.

I can help you to the bathroom room here.

She smiled to him unsure how be would react to running water.

Kal followed Giselle's lead as she led him around her abode. He was too focused on not collapsing to take in his surroundings.

"You have a bath inside your home? You must be quite wealthy!"

No it is very common in my time. Here let me help you.

She moved for him to lean on her to help him into the copper tub.

"Common?" Kal mused aloud to himself. "Must be nice." The poison was beginning to wear off but he was still feeling quite weak, and it was still making him delirious. "A good long shower and a willing wench would do wonders just about now." Kal said. Then he paused and looked to Giselle. He wondered if they could read minds where she hailed from too.

She raised a brow at his words.

Well there is the shower.

She felt sure the poison and the wound were making him simply talk not truly thinking of what he said. Then again there was a half nearly half naked man looking like he was cut from granite in her bathroom. A faint bite to her lower lip at her thoughts.

Kal raised his eyebrows when he noticed her reaction to his words. "Poison." He mumbled under his breath. Without another moment's hesitation, Kal began to strip off his clothes, preparing himself for the bath.

When he started stripping down she quickly turned to not stare. Her hands in front of her as she stared down at them seeing them shaking till she spotted one of the baby goats exploring the house and hurried out to get him back outside.

Giselle had left Kal alone for the first time since he got there. He used that time to explore the faucets. The lights in the bathroom, those really shocked him. He immediately decided that Giselle was either a witch, or hiding how wealthy her family truly was. After a while he got into the bath and began to clean himself.
