Of course, he had to talk. Not talking was like asking the ONE to hold the sun at the horizon so a person could sleep a few more hours. It would be improbable and close to impossible for the arrogant beast. Dahmia knew it and ignored his words. It was a play to raise her ire. Nothing more. She settled herself, adjusting her balance onto the balls of her host's feet, making it easier to dart out of the way, if he chose to come at her.
She heard mention of Jerusalem and wondered WHY he had traveled that far for a weapon. Was it something that could do real harm to her? Something inimical, more so than his normal weapon of choice? Would it harm her just by contacting the shell that housed her?
'Fuck it. Don't stress it. Not important.'
The thought came and went. Dahmia couldn't force herself to worry on what might be, not when he was coming toward her with all the force of a freight train. Her sword rose with unerring speed. Guard position. She didn't reach for him, never even moved. He would have to bring the fight to her.
And he did so, sword striking gleaming metal hard enough to throw sparks. Dahmia moved back and to the right, her sword moving with precision, keeping her throat and upper body well protected, knocking each of his feinting strikes away, while she gauged his speed and dexterity. She knew he was holding back. She just didn't know why.
"You are beginning to bore me, Ruumel."
Dahmia went on the attack, dropping her sword for just a moment to cut diagonally, at his leg. The demon darted backward, regained his footing, pressed in. She blocked his next strike, catching it on her gauntlet, and retreated a few steps. Something wasn't right. She just didn't know WHAT. But she wished that he would make his play, she was running out of energy to fight him.
