It has been 2 years since the war and a year since the virus hit. …..Panic had taken over most of the world and people seemed to disappear off of the face of the earth. Friends and families fell apart and enemies sprung up every where. No one knew what really happened. The virus seemed to take who ever it wanted and either kill them, turn them into an unknown species or take them, for what exactly no one knew. No one was sure exactly what it was or how it came to be all they knew was it was their reality now.
The new species that was created, well no one was sure what they were or for that matter what they wanted. They knew very little about them, one thing that was discovered was their blood was no longer red, it was now black. Other than that there had been no defining differences. They were the reason no one trusted each other anymore though. Meaning they looked just like us. These others were given the name of Cranks.
It seemed as if the world had walked directly into a horror movie. Few survived the war and even less survived the war. The ones who have survived fight every day to maintain their lives. Living is no longer what it use to be. Enjoyment has seemed to disappear from life. All that is left is survival
All people really knew was that once they had finally begun rebuilding their cities and their homes and it seemed as if they were making progress the virus hit. The first sign of it being among them was the plant and animal life. It the bigger cities it seemed as if nature was taking over the buildings and everything around them. Out in the country the plants seemed to begin dying. Death and decay began to sweep the lands.
The animals seemed to take on a new life, putting the people closer to the bottom of the food chain. Then the disappearances began along with the dying. No one knew what was happening. First the virus seemed to attack nature and then it went to the people. For the entire past year people continued to get sick, and to disappear.
Then just a few months ago the first sign of something worse showed itself. The virus was living within people turning them into something else…Something people every where began to fear, so they gave them the name of the Cranks. So far these “others” had shown no signs of being dangerous but still seeing what the virus had done in the past no one trusted them.
People began to point fingers and condemn others. Out casting them, and forcing anyone they no longer trusted to move into other and non populated places. Everyone knew there was another war coming, but this time they would not be able to see it coming for them.
Oh and one more thing before I forget to mention it, some of the people that the virus got to ended up turning into our equivalent of zombies. Yes flesh eating zombies. But these ones, well lets just say they are a bit smarter then what anyone could have expected. They don't look like the ones you see in the moves, no its obvious they are of the un-dead species but they are like hybrids. Faster, stronger and some even smarter then us. They have adapted if you will and evolved. Now they look and smell and even talk just like us. Of course you have the ones where is obvious the virus completely over powered them, and they, well they look like the zombies from Hollywood so to speak.
The people who are still alive are located inside of a ran down military base. The barracks room working perfectly for their stay. There are people who take turns on maintaining the safety of the people. Of course there are back up plans in place as well.
