The Cozy Corner

I know I am coming to this late but you all have nailed one of my pet peeves from when I was working. Emails have created an environment where everyone, but especially leadership, are nailed to their workstation just waiting for the next "hot" email to come in. We became detached from our people.. I always managed by walk-about, visiting cubicles talking to analysts.

I managed 3 networks and it was absolute chaos as all I seem to do was toggle from network to network, responding to emails.

IMHO work emails are the Devil incarnate!

OK rant over!!

Hello Coziers! Hope everyone is hanging in there on a Monday.
No work emails here any longer.
Breakfast was the usual... overnight oats with fresh fruit.
Dinner will be roast cod with a chorizo crisp and roasted baby potatoes.
The warmer temps here today are very welcome.
Happy Monday, Ma'am! Dinner sounds amazing! Glad you're enjoying the nice weather!

Soo google randomly decided they had to deactivate my account for an hour. This caused such mass disruption to my life and business. Are we really sure this is what we want from tech and our world? A faceless company controlling us
Fuckin emails!
A second cousin of mine and their spouse just saw Bob Dylan in concert. All attendees were required to put their cell phones in a locked, sealed pouch which they carried with them during the show and wouldn't unlock until the concert was over. They said it "felt like old times, everyone was fully engaged in the concert and mingling and it was amazing".

Smart phones, computers, the internet and AI will be our downfall. It has already started. Mark my words.

I am not opposed to this.

There is obvious so many great things hat have come from internet and even smartphones......But I agree with you we seem to be permanently altering the course of human existence.........

I think every single day about getting rid of my smart phone yet, here I am
I take breaks from mine frequently. I have to or my mind gets over stimulated from the influx of random crap. Plus fortunately I work in a field that allows me to do so. If the phone or emails get to be to much I just go fire up a machine and dig a whole or hit something with a hammer 🤣🤣🤣

Yes! You have to! Physical labor is underestimated, undervalued and underappreciated in today's world and its benefits are insurmountable! I also believe we should be implementing the physical education requirements of the 40s and 50s again in school starting at the elementary level!

I won’t complain too much about these devices as they do connect me to a special person- uh hmmm… and my phone carries my books with me where ever I go which is a huge plus in my book. (Hahaha catch that?). But yes as well, it can over stimulate and then I need to pick an alternative way to decompress and relax.

If the grid goes down and I can't get my daily fix of you just look south a little ways for the smoke signals I will be sending until the lights kick back on 🥰😉
