The cruiseship

Robert Preston - Bridge and Backgammon Master

ooc: Robert Preston is a 55 year old widower spwending his summers on cruise ships, teaching bridge and backgammon (and other dainty little games) and running duplicate bridge tournaments on board during cruises, sanctioned by the ACBL with masters points awarded to winners. In the evenings I also attend the dances, as an extra partner for ladies travelling unescorted. The cruises are free except for incidental expenses i.e. the bar bill etc, but it's a pleasant way to spend the summers and be involved with people.

ic: With the ship getting underway there is nothing I do except kabitz, remembering my navy days as a shiphandler and Officer of the Deck underway, being quite careful not to make any comments that the Captain might find critical.

I just wandered around making sure the passengers find their way to the several bars and lounges, the swimming pool, and the dining area etc, being of help wherever I am able. Until we are outside the 12 mile limit and into international waters, gambling isnt permitted, and the casino is closed until tonight after the evening meal. Walking by the pool on the SunDeck topside I see several ladies getting their tans underway. With their scanty attire I am sure our Medical Officer will have some customers in the morning if they overdo it, as happens on every cruise.

OOC: Man Shortage!!!

Yeah, we need more hot young studs... remember... there's an 18 year old on this cruise too!!! ;)

Captain Thor

OOC: for the shiphandler - Captain Thor is a much better lover than shiphandler. After all, his last job as Master was on some tanker named the Exxon Valdez. He is also well read about the exploits of his ancestor, Captain Kidd - especially the 'keel hauling' techniques.

IC: Glancing at the chronometer on the wall, I roll my eyes and plough throgh the last of the paperwork.

I spent the day walking around the ship, getting familiar with my surroundings. I believe I spotted my daughter once, but she was surrounded by a group of handsome young men who blocked my view, so it might have been someone else.

There were a number of attractive women about, and my wandering eye took them all in, but my thoughts kept returning to Julie. To get my mind off her, I signed up for everything the ship had to offer, but every time I signed my name I thought about her lovely smile.
Yoga? What was I thinking, signing up for yoga?

Near dinner time, I returned to my cabin, took a shower, and changed into my tux. I looked forward to having dinner with my daughter, but she had met someone and was seated at another table. I found my chair and sat down, nodding to the other passengers. There was that awkward silence of strangers thrust together. We all smiled and nodded.
The chair next to mine was empty, and when I was wondering if it would stay that way, she showed up.
"Good evening, everyone," Julie said. "Good evening, Dean."
I stood up and pulled her chair out. "Good evening, Julie."

the afternoon slide by as sunset gorgeous over water i stood alone on ship's bow glancing at the dance of light over water, i hated leaving and going to eat in crowded formal dining room, but christine made me promise not to seclude myself. I went back to our room and picking up my favorite dress i slide into the green silk, it had square neckline showing some but not all the hemline was just above knee but skirt was tight and a slit nearly up to my thigh helped when walking. i piled my hair on top of my head threw on a pair of silver earrings and necklace to match and slipping into some high heels i headed to dining room.

Samnatha Cole

I dress in mone of my own slinky black creations for dinner, topping it off slimply with a pair of black pumps and my hair in a french twist. I make my way through the ship to the dining room and one of the attendants seats me at the Captain's table.

OOC: Don't really know why I'd be at the Captain's table, but what the heck!

:( OOC: Sorry guys, unexpectedly have to go away for the weekend, I'll be back Sunday though!

Captain Thor

Rubbing my eyes, I finally finish the paperwork, flick some invisible lint from my impeccable uniform, and make my way to the dining room. I love the pomp and circumstance of being Captain...

I wonder who has been selected for the honor of sitting with me the first evening....

dinner

ooc: tell me true - folks - anybody actually been on a cruise? Took a Love Boat cruise (actually on the Love Boat - the Pacific Princess) thru the Panama Canal- I was not quite 50, and other than the crew i was BY FAR the youngest man aboard except for another couple we went with. My wife and the other wife were in early 40s, and BY FAR the youngest women. In general, it seemed people had to be old, either to afford it or have the time to waste, although things might have changed-

ic: Went to the dining area. I was assigned to a large table for ten, consisting of three couples, a ship's officer, and two single unescorted women, all in my age group. We all introduced ourselves and talked with anticipation about all the things to do on board and in the several ports we were to visit. The menu was a yard long as always, and of course I was familiar with it but the guests were not, so they all were quite impressed with the variety and quality of the offerrings. They even found the note at the bottom which said "if you wish to deviate from the menu, speak to the Matre D Hotel". One man did, and ordered a well done sirloin steak for each and every day, for both noon and evening meals.

I also told them about the evening shows in the lounge put on very professionally by the cruise director's staff, hired especially for their musical and entertainment talent. One lady seemed quite interested and asked if I would be kind enough to escort her. After the show there was to be dancing until quite late, and since looked very attractive, and since I was on board especially to make the passengers satisfied with the voyage, I was pleased to comply.

OOC: Christine was looking for an older man in her introduction, so we all skewed mature in the beginning. I gave my daughter a passel of young admirers, so there are plenty of opportunities for lurkers to come aboard.

Short of a few smiles I had not yet had a good conversation with any of the people on the ship. Night was arriving very shortly and I had yet to be invited anywhere, until...

as i wandered into dining room, i felt at a lost for words. I found my table, and sat down making small talk as i picked something to eat trying to appear more at ease than i felt.

Julie

ooc: lol @ Thor, Exxon Valdez, is anyone else worried?

ic: The afternoon had slipped away from me, and I realized it was time to begin dressing for dinner. I went back to my room, quickly undressed, and stepped into a steaming shower. After the shower, drying my hair, and expertly applying my make-up, I slid silk stockings onto my long legs. I went to my closet and removed the Valentino gown.

The sensuous material floated around my body as I stepped into it. The plunging neckline made a stunning display of my lush cleavage, and the cherry red of the gown set off the highlights in my hair to perfection.

I pulled my hair into a Grecian top knot that allowed the blonde curls to cascade down my back. Small diamond studs in my earlobes were the only adornment the dress needed. A little perfume and my matching slippers and I was ready to go to dining room.

Unfortunately, I was late, and it looked as if everyone was already seated when I arrived. I greeted my dining companions, and allowed Dean to help me with my chair.

The conversation seemed stilted, and I commenced to make everyone feel more comfortable. I began by asking each one to tell us a little about themselves. I began, and as each one took a turn they began to loosen up and talk amongst themselves.

When everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves, I could finally turn my attention to something more interesting. I turned to Dean, and asked, "Would you like to tell me something about yourself?"

I marvelled at how well Julie did her job. She sat down at a tableful of silent strangers, and within minutes had them chatting like old friends. I could tell she was trying to get everyone involved in the conversation, but I couldn't escape the feeling that she was talking directly to me, and that we were the only two people in the world. Her personality was so winning and infectious that I barely noticed the extraordinarily sexy gown that accentuated every curve of her lovely body.
"Would you like to tell me something about yourself?" she asked.
I gave her the quick life story. To my ears, it sounded dull, but Julie hung on every word, and she reached out and squeezed my arm sympathetically when I told her about my wife.
Not wanting to bring her down, I asked, "Would you care to dance?"
"I would love to, kind sir," she smiled. I led her to the dance floor and took her in my arms. She seemed to fit perfectly. She was tall, but her height brought her up to a height that was absolutely perfect for kissing.
"I'll bet you have a lot of passengers come on to you," I said. She simply rolled her eyes, and we both broke up laughing.
"You must be on call 24/7," I said.
"I have some time to myself," she answered, placing her head on my shoulder.

Brian

OOC: well...as you can see...i sorta forgot about this thread, i can't really do this, im in a ton right now, i wish i could though, well ttfn.

Elle Pierce

I stretched lazily after a full day in the sun and stepped into the shower. After carefully washing and drying every inch of my body, I applied a soothing after-sun lotion.

I pulled a white, strapless gown out of the wardrobe and set it on the bed, along with a pair of matching, low heeled, open toe sandals. I pulled on the gown, which stopped mid-thigh and clung to every curve.

To complete the outfit I let my hair flow freely down my back, and placed a white flower behind my ear. A pair of teardrop, diamonds were attached to my ears, and a matching choker around my neck. I quickly applied makeup and my summery-scented perfume and headed towards the dining room.

I stopped at the entrance, unsure of which table I had been assigned to for this evenings meal.

Julie

"Would you care to dance?" Dean asked.

"I would love to, kind sir," I replied.

As he led the way to the dance floor, I had a chance to see how well his tuxedo fit his muscular frame. He was extremely attractive, and I guessed him to be in his late thirties maybe early forties.

On the dance floor, he took me in his arms, and I delighted in the way our bodies seemed to fit perfectly. Dean was an wonderful dancer. He danced with a natural grace very few men possess. And he could make me laugh, a quality I prized above all others.

I laid my head against his shoulder, and breathed in his expensive after-shave. It was slightly musky and very masculine, and prompted me contemplate the possibilities for later this evening.

The song ended and brought me from my pleasant reverie. We reluctantly drew away from each other. We stood for a moment staring into each others' eyes, before making our way back to our table.

"Dean, I think I'm coming down with something," Julie said. "Would you mind walking me back to my cabin?"
"Would you like for me to find the doctor?" I asked.
She gave me a sly grin. "I don't think that will be necessary."
On the way out, she walked over to the captain and whispered something in his ear. He looked concerned, but Julie said something to reassure him, and she returned to me.
"The captain will see that someone covers for me tonight," she said. "He's very good about that."
We reached her cabin, and she unlocked the door.
"Well, I hope you feel better, Julie," I said.
"I feel fine," she said, taking me by the hand and leading me inside.

Robert Preston dinner - show

As the early seating in the dining room finished their meal, we hurried to the showroom to get good seats. As the lady rose I noted her very appealing figure and looked forward to dancing with her. We chatted on the way up and found ourselves looking at the sunset from the deck. "Isnt that beautiful?" she said and I replied "there are nothing like the sunrises and sunsets at sea. For that matter the moonlight and stars are pretty nice too!"

She indicated that we could look at those later as we entered the lounge where the band was playing and the show setting up to start soon. We marked our seats and went to the floor, where I took her into my arms and we danced away to very nice music, with all kinds of thought in my head

Stephanie Merrit

OOC: Robert Preston's dancing partner, I'm late 30's but look younger, about 5'5", 120, 34DD-28-38, short blonde hair and blue eyes.

IC: This was my first cruise, and I occasionally wished Donald and I hadn't put it off so long. Even four years after his death, I still thought of him wistfully. But I was still young and determined to enjoy life. I was never again going to say "When I'm older..." or "When I'm more settled..." Carpe diem was my new motto.

That motto is what made me strike up a conversation with the handsome man at my dinner table. He seemed to know his way around the ship and I made a mental note to convince him to show me around. Later. Right now, I was thoroughly enjoying the feeling of his arms around me as he swept me across the dance floor.

I loved to be with someone with confidence and Robert seemed to ooze confidence from every pore. His arms held me tight and his hands traveled from my back down to my ass...

Robert and Stephanie

"Stephanie, you dance beautifully" I said as we swung to the music. The ship rocked slightly which was a different sort of sensation - sometimes you tried to put your foot down and the deck just wasnt there! But it's erotic too, to have the ship's motion intertwine with your own, and for me, that added to the sensation of being with this lovely lady. I could only think that this cruise would turn out to be extra special, as we returned to our seats for the start of the show.

First the magician comes out with some lame jokes and lamer tricks to warm up the audience. Then, with a fanfare, out come the dancing girls who emulate a Parisian cancan, and frankly they're not bad. In fact they're pretty darn good - well at least pretty. The audience gets warmed up for a singing act, and then a stand-up comedian. The finale is another dance scene that gets everyone in the mood for more dancing, and Steph and I head for the floor again, but not before I ordered us another round of drinks to enjoy.

Just think- I had the whole cruise to enjoy having dinner with this lady every night, and hopefully enjoy her good company at other times as well. Better take it slow and not push. Let's just see how she reacts to this, I thought as I put my arms around her and pulled her close to me, with smiles on both our faces.

Leslie

I dressed for dinner in a simple black sheath dress. I joined Michael at his table for dinner. Michael and I had met at the pool. He was 24 and owned his own internet start up company. He was REALLY cute ... but all through dinner I couldn't stop wishing he would shut up for just a minute about computers. I honestly was bored out of my skull. I was beginning to daydream about how some James Bond type (only younger) would come up to my table and say in his sexy accent that he couldn't help but come over and rescue me from my misery ... and then of course he'd fall madly in love with me. Back to reality: "Leslie, have you been listening to me?" Michael snapped his fingers in front of my face, which really annoyed me. "I was explaining to you about how if your data port doesn't work well with your..." *drifting again*...

Julie

As we walked back to the table, I realized I really wasn't very hungry. I turned to him and said, "Dean, I think I'm coming down with something, would you mind walking me back to my cabin?"

After letting the captain know my whereabouts for the rest of the evening, we made our way to my cabin. I unlocked the door and he said, "Well, I hope you feel better, Julie."

"I feel fine," I said over my shoulder, as I led him into my room. He caught on quickly after that. As soon as he had crossed the threshold I turned and reached around him to firmly shut the door.

Staring into his eyes, I placed both of my hands on his chest and backed him against the door. The slightly stunned look on his face was hastily replaced with longing. His gaze dropped to my lips, and I accepted the invitation written clearly in his eyes.

My lips gently grazed his and that was all the encouragement he needed. His arms came around me and he deepened the kiss.

Julie pinned me against the door and kissed me. I was shocked at first, but I soon found myself responding, feeling things I had feared were gone forever. I wrapped my arms around her and kissed her back, returning fire with fire.
When we came up for air, I could only say, "Wow!"
"Wow indeed," Julie said.
We stood like that for an eternity, just gazing into each other's eyes. Then, I spoke my heart.
"Julie, I have made love to one woman in the last twenty-five years, and I have been celibate for the last four. I'm a little nervous about where this is going. No, not nervous. I'm scared. I'm afraid you'll say no, and I'm even more afraid that you'll say yes. But the only thing I'm absolutely sure of is that I will die if I don't make love to you tonight."
