The Dark Carnival

[Angelus]

Jace looked at the carpark with a smile, they were finally out of that little corner of hell and everyone that he loved, namely the woman beside him was well. The two of them went to Cordillia's car where she helped Jace into the passenger seat and jumped into the drivers side, starting the engine and taking off from the carpark, not even bothering to do up her seatbelt.

 

[Isolde]

Hours later she was sitting in the hospital trying for the thousandth time to explain what had happened. Of course no one believed her. She had talked to Police Officers, doctors, Jace's parents and hers. Her voice was hoarse and her mouth dry and still they questioned her.

She had cried at first but now she sat like a robot answering questions mechanically-not wanting to even think.

They refused to let her see Jace. His parents looked at her suspiciously as if she had been the cause of all his injuries. She thought that maybe that might be the truth-he did it out of the belief that he was protecting her.

One of the police officers had said that there was no carnival there and never had been. They looked at her as if she was either crazy or on drugs and simply shook her head.

She had been examined and pronounced physically fit except for the ankle which one of the nurses had wrapped. They had taken blood samples and Cordillia knew they were running test for foriegn substances but she did not care anymore.

Finally the police and doctor came in and said that she could go and her parents helped her to their car. She rode with her mother while her father took her car and followed. She sat there looking straight ahead, not saying anything.

She knew that no one believed her and she knew that they were going to do everything they could to keep her away from Jace. With that thought, Cordillia once again burst into tears and did not stop until her mother pulled into the driveway.

OOC: I assume that Jace and Cordillia are still living with parents or that they live away but the parents are taking them under their wings because of the situation.

Derek:

I watch them at the hospital for a while trying to explain what was happening to the cops. I decided to nab cordillia first.Her house wasnt that hard to find. "I s cordillia around,"I asked her mom ,"Yeah hold on,who is this," she asked me. "Tell her a friend," I replied....

 

[Isolde]

Cordillia lay in her bed in the darkness looking up at the ceiling but really seeing the vision of Jace being crushed in the things tenticles. She wanted so much to be with him now.

She heard a knock on the door but ignored it. It came again and this time was followed by her mother's voice.
"Cordillia, there is a friend downstairs that would like to see you."

"Tell them to go away."

"But, Cordillia-maybe if you talked to someone..."

"TELL THEM TO GO AWAY!"

She could tell her mother was pausing at the door, wondering if she should enter but then she heard footsteps retreating down the stairs and there was silence again.

Derek:

"She doent want to see anyone," her mom said. "Can I try?" I asked."Sure,not that It will do any good," she said. she showed me to her room."cordillia,its Derek,can I talk to you?," I said through the closed door...

 

[Angelus]

Jace was laying on his bed, looking up at the ceiling when there was a knock on the door. He looked at it and saw his mother poke her head in.
"Jason, dear. There is someone here to see you."
The door began to open wider and Jace said, "Cordillia; oh hi Matt."
"Well that is a hell of a greeting from my best friend. What the hell have you been doing to yourself man, you look like you took on the football team by yourself."
"Yeah, I feel like it to. Look, I was wondering if you do a little favor for me."
"Sure pal, anything to help you out you know that."

Jace wrote out a short note to Cordillia and said, "I want you to take this note straight to Cordillia and tell her that I love her."
Matt got to his feet and said, "I'll be back to tell you what she said Jace. I'll be back soon."

 

[Isolde]

Cordillia heard a knock again and was about to tell her mother again that she was not going to see anyone when she heard Derek's voice.

She thought about telling him to go away but then she was curious about how he got out of the carnival himself so she told him instead to go wait downstairs while she dressed.

She heard him hesitate and then troop back downstairs. She rose and got dressed slowly as she was still sore and then limped downstairs to where Derek waited for her in the living room.

She was about to greet him and ask her questions when she heard the doorbell and her mother answered it.
"Oh, Matt, how nice of you to come," She heard her mother say,"Yes, Cordillia is up and in the living room with another friend. Come on in. Maybe you can cheer her up."

Cordillia turned and looked at Matt when he came in. She managed a smile and said,"Hey, what are you doing here? I thought you would be with Jace. He could really use a friend right now."

Matt looked over at Derek, a look of dislike coming over his face. Turning to Cordillia and ignoring Derek, he said,"Yeah, I was. Can I talk to you in private?"

Cordillia nodded and excused herself to Derek. She had a puzzled look on her face but she trusted Matt. Leading the way to the kitchen, she said,"Whats up?"

Matt handed her a note and said,"It's from Jace. He says to say he loves you. Listen Cor, he really is missing you. I think you not being there hurts worse than his injuries."

Cordillia felt the tears flow again as she read the note and she almost couldnt speak. "I know. I want to be there so bad, Matt. But everyone thinks that this is my fault. What am I going to do?"

She could feel Matt's eyes on her and he finally spoke in a soft voice,"If you really want to go see him, I think I can get you to his room. When we were kids I used to climb up the tree outside his window to wake him and then we would sneak off after our curfew. I think seeing you would really help him."

Cordillia threw her arms about Matt's neck and gave him a sound kiss on the cheek. "Oh, Matt, I dont know how to thank you. Let me tell Derek that I am leaving and I will be right with you."

Matt caught Cordillia's arm before she could leave the kitchen. "I dont trust that guy, Cor," He said,"Leave him there. He will get the hint once you dont come back. We will take the back door from the kitchen and be gone before he knows it. And your parents might not like it if they knew so I think we should just sneak out."

She hesitated. She didnt like doing it this way but she really did want to see Jace so she nodded her head in agreement and exited the back door, leaning on Matt for support.

Luckily I followed them."Hey,uh Ive got some news for the both of you," i said and stepped out of hiding."Your not going anywhere," i said and smiled.Matt tried to charge past me.I caught him by the throat and lifted him off his feet,choking him," I dont need you," i told him,,,,,

 

[Angelus]

Matt

Matt looked down at Derek, who was holding him off his feet as easily as a small doll and said between gasps of breath, "How, how did you get so strong. The Derek that I knew was just a little weed not you. You are not Derek."

 

[Isolde]

Cordillia broke from her trance at the sight of Derek so strong and launched herself at him. Kicking and clawing and biting until one fingernail got him in the eye and her knee took him in the groin.

No matter what he had become, he could still feel pain and he dropped Matt and doubled over. Screaming and cursing at her in pain.

Grabbing Matt's hand, she drug him through the back door and into the yard.

"What the hell," Matt was choking and coughing,"What was that thing."

"Nevermind," Cordillia said as they reached Matt's car and she dived in,"Just drive!"

He obeyed-hearing the fear in her voice.
"Where to?," He asked as he peeled out of the driveway seconds before Derek came out to the lawn.

"To Jace's house," She said,"He will go there next. I am sure of it." And she hoped that they were not too late.

 

[Angelus]

Jace was still laying on his bed and wondering where Matt was when there was a knock on his door. He got up and opened it, expecting to see Matt but when he saw Derek standing there he said, "What do you want?"

Derek didn't answer but moved quicker than Jace could follow and punched his square in the ribs, causing Jace to scream out in pain. When Jace fell to the floor Derek picked him up as if he were a little kitten and said, "You are coming with me."

Derek then ran and jumped through the window in front of him, Jace still on his shoulder.


OOC: sorry about that Maniac but I thought that if your character couldn't get Cordillia then he would use Jace and make her come to him.

 

[Isolde]

OOC: Sorry..she is playing hard to get.

IC: Cordillia was out of the car even before Matt stopped. Throwing open the door of Jace's house, she ran up the stairs just before Jace's parents came out to see what was going on. She barely heard thier startled cries or Matt's feet pounding on the stairs behind her.

Bursting into Jace's room she was stopped short when she saw the state of the room and her boyfriend missing. She sagged against the door frame-her strength gone.

Matt stood behind her, catching his breath. "Gone...so what do we do now?"

Cordillia stood, her chin jutting out and her determination unwavering. "I go to the carnival and get Jace back. You stay here until we return."

"WHAT? Cor, are you crazy? Did you see what Derek did to me in the kitchen? You wouldnt last. Besides Jace is my best friend and I have no intention of staying behind while Derek does foul things to him."

Cordillia was about to protest but saw determination to match his own in his eyes and gave him a short nod, heading back down the stairs and out to the car.

She was going to get Jace back no matter what the cost.

"Master wants you,And Cordillia," i said.

They had been right.I wasnt Derek anymore I was something stronger.Id kill for master.I carried Jace over one shoulder back to the carnival,right to masters chambers."Now we wait for cordillia," master said...

 

[Isolde]

Matt and Cordillia arrived at the carnival site-the place that everyone swore there was no carnival. It all seemed as it had earlier that day. She had come back to the nightmare and she was not sure if she would leave alive.

"But I wont leave Jace here alone," She said in determination as she walked into the carnival grounds, Matt close behind her.

"DEREK!," She yelled at the top of her voice,"DEREK! I know you have Jace you asshole, now come out here and meet me face to face."

Derek:

I laughed histaricly at her."you think Ill just give p like that,you are a stupid whore," i said.I slide out of the shadows behind them. "You dont stand a chance against me you know that," I said startling them."you have to find Jace,hes somewhere in the carnival," i said,giggled pointed in a complete circle and moved with inhuman speed out of sight,laughing as I go....

 

[Isolde]

With her heart in the pit of her stomach, Cordillia turned to Matt. "We must separate and look for Jace. We dont have time to do anything else."

Seeing that Matt was going to protest, she snapped,"Derek will be able to kill me if I am with you or not. Jace could not protect me and niether can you. We split up here and look for him-cutting down on the time. Please, just do it."

With a nod, Matt splits off to the north and Cordillia goes to the south. "Please, let me be in time," She prayed, though she had never been too religious before. Now seemed like a good time to start.

I followed behind cordillia, staying completely out of her sight.Using a magic trick, I simulated Jace's voice," Cordillia,the house of mirrors,help,"I said and stiffled a laugh."your almost there,"I said in jaces voice....

OOC: Not I, I have been out of it for a while.... this is all your work now, well yours and Isolde's.

Hopefully, when I have everything else sorted out then I can return- if my character isn't killed off by then that is.

OOC: sorry to do this maniac but I think that you should kill off Jace as I have lost all the ideas that I had. I know that it might kill off the thread but I'm lost for ideas so please, kill Jace.
