The Dragon Wars

Char

IC: I ran threw the forest trying to escape the slayer til I had a plan. He can't be engaged at range his javilns are to pwoerful. I would run out of mana to cast my spells before I could get in a decent shot. That leaves close range combat. But how the hell do I get him close enough?

Kaikish

Kaikish looked at the black dragon in shock

"Slayers?!" he exclaimed "this is bad tidings! Let us head to the front and see what must be seen and maybe we can make our throts sore from killing Slayers!" And he went off towards the front.

Pyrymis

Pyrymis hears a familiar voice. ‘HO! PYRYMIS! OVER HERE!’

He looks over to his right and sees Haldram waiting. Pyrymis turns that way, trying to conserve energy. "The slayers are here. They have taken the lives of some of the dragons, but they are not as indestrucible as we first thought. Maybe the Black Knight was the most powerful among them. Please go back to Rune and Oldwing and let them know what has happened."

Brazous

Brazous looked over at the other dragon. "Come follow my trial. " Brazous sets a hard pace, wanting to see if this big dragon can stay up. His expectations are exceeded as the hulking dragon is only a few winglengths behind him and almost keeping pace. Heartened by the arrival of another dragon that he did not recognize, Brazous flys towards the front. He can see a line of Siege engines that are hurling Naptha towards the dragons flying overhead. In a straight physical battle, the humans would not stand a chance. But their ability to create and innovate might be the downfall of the dragons in the end.

Brazous watched as one of the younger dragons got too close. He had come in to release his breath weapon, when the Naptha reached his flanks. The acidic substance raised havoc with the dragon's scale, eating them away with unbelieveable speed. The dragon howled in pain as his body was wracked with pain. His body is quickly consumed, the surruptation flesh raining down on the battlefield. The pieces of his skeleton that are left fall upon the men below as they raise a hearty battle cry. Brazous's eyes begin to whirl with the intensity of him emotions.

Brazous looks around the battlefield to find a way to help. He notices that the men are fighting not too far from the edge of a cliff. He can see more men coming out of the cavern below. Brazous now understands that they were hiding in the cavern so that the dragons would not be able to use their breath weapons. Brazous ponders an idea, then yells over at the new dragon. "Come with me to the edge of the cliff above them. "

Fin

Fin looked around to see that ever body has begun to scater "Uh-oh..."

"Whats up Fin"

"Its begun..."

Fin flaped his wings and took flight "I'm going to warrios path! Tell Leka I'll be back As soon as possible!"

Kaikish

He looked at Brazous while Kaikish had been busy taking some of these men off their horses in a rude way, the other killed one who attacked a younger dragon.

"Come with me to the cliff" this Brazous had said

When he got there he saw that men were covering there to hide from their breath.

"So Brazous, we have two chocies; kill them while they go out or kill them in the cave."Kaikish said " you make the chocie, my judgement in this matter would be fuzzy".

Brazous looked at him and said.......

Brazous

Brazous looks over at Kaikish. "Actually I have a better idea. If we cause these rocks to fall and cover the mouth of the cave, the men will be trapped and not able to help their fellow lesser folks. We also will not need to waste the energy to fight them. Maybe time spent trapped in a cold dark cave will make them understand the folly of attacking their betters."

Brazous flies closer to the edge of the cliff. He lets loose a torrent of acid, the strong fluid etching into the rock face. A shower of small rocks starts down the rockface as the rocks start to come apart.

Kaikish

He looked at his new ally and stated

"Your Idea is good but why waste our breath on these men?" And he flew up, picked up a large boulder, came in and through it straight at the cave.

"Well? It may not be through finese, but it gets the job done. Let's go kill some more" he said with a big, toothy grin. "My ma always said I had good aim!"

Fin had begun to land near Warriors path as he heard an moan of pain "I wonder who it is?" Fin transformed into his D-human form "Now.... where was that Moan I had heard?" Fin said to himself as he searched around "Hello? Any body Here?!"

"Ug.... F-Fin?"

"Huh? Shimy?"

Brazous

Brazous shook his large head as he looked at Kaikish. "I guess your mother was right on that point. That was an easier way to do it. Maybe we should try and infiltrate where the siege engines are. As we can both see, the direct approach is doing nothing but making carcasses of good dragons. Lets approach from the west and change to human form so that we can sneak in close and then destroy it."

Two hundred summers ago...

Fiandorel's days passed quietly, occupied in leisurely pursuits. She had prepared a makeshift hatchery for herself, the hotsprings that bubbled up from the floor of the volcano providing the required warmth.

The fisherfolk, well-known for their skills in weaving nets and ropes had created a walkway leading down into the cone of the volcano where the dragon made her lair. The old wives had insisted and who were the menfolk to refuse. After all, if the wives were not happy, neither would their men be.

And so the time came for Fiandorel to lay her clutch of eggs. There were not many. Only three. But even so, she guarded them with her life, for they were precious to her. Unlike many of her kind, Fiandorel revered all forms of life. Even that of the Lesser Beings. The trust she had put in them was proving to be well-founded, as was theirs in her.

I ran deeper into the woods the slayer behind still hurling his spears. I need to get in close if I have a chance. I will show these slayer that my fammily has strong blood. They will regret comeing here. The dragons of this realm won't be defeated as easily as in other worlds.

I smiled as I saw my chance to make my move. A crack in the ground weather this canyon was formed by stream or earth quake matters not. The fact is it serves my purpose all to well. I ran with renewed vigor trying to reach the canyon alive. The canyon is my chance it dose me no good if I die before reaching it.

A javlin peirced my left wing. I won't be able to fly until I heal it. But flying is what he'd hope for. Flight paths of a dragon are much easier to figure out then the path of a dragon on the run. I dived into the canyon wich would b to narrow for the slayer to through a javlin down with out exposeing himself.

I smiled to myself. Now I've got him, he will have to expose himself to fight me. I can now make a stand in which he lacks an edge to use. These slayers are said to be mortal and now is the time I can see it with my own to eyes.

Kaikish

"I like your plan Brazous. I suggest we take some of these human's clothes to blend in better to make our strike." said kaikish. "And lets find some of those horses to ride into their camp to make it belivible. I know it sounds alittle invovled, but my tutor taught me that the best attacks are the ones best thought through."

OOC: Took me a while to find this thread.

IC: My eyes where fixed up and I was gathering energy for my attack aginst the slayer. I would not have a second chance at this so I had to take him down in one shot. I had to finish him and I had to do it now.

My eyes wondered along the cliff side looking for the hunter. This is the one and only chance I have, so don't blow it. I felt the static eleticty building in my mouth. He would have to do something soon. A slayer wouldn't leave any dragon behind even two dragons could start our demetion on a recovery. That ment that any dragon they could killl they will. That way they are shure there isn't a chance for dragon kind to survive. My keen eyes saw some movement.

'Ready dragon?' A black figure jumped out towards me. I opened my mouth once it was half the distance to me. I unleashed the greatest bolt of lighting I could muster. The white hot plasma periced into the figure igniteing it.

Then something jumped out of the figure. I looked at it I had wasted my best and only chance on a tree. A tree he had up rooted and used to block my attack. The slayers were more then strong they had cunning.

'I think it's time to fight at close range.' The slayer reached back past it's quiver of javilns with both arms. In each hand he now held a katar, an armor peirceing weapon of great power. "This is going to be a problem."

Haldram

Haldram heard Pyrymis’ orders, and flew off to the main entrance of the Colony. There were guards there, but he was waved through without so much as a challenge. Things had indeed changed, now that the Exiles were back fully into the Colony.

He strode into the main Council Chamber, but he could not find Lhey anywhere. Neither was Rune to be found. It was understandable that Lhey had gone with his human allies to find a way to defeat the Slayers. Still, it was strange that Rune had been missing since the momentous Council meeting with Pyrymis and Lhey. Rune had some good Dragons with him that could help with the fight. Perhaps Rune was taking advantage of the confusion of war, and the appearance of the Slayers. There was however no more time to waste on the motives of Rune.

Thinking that he had wasted enough time, Haldram left the message to a youngling, barely pass his first century if Rune can be found. He knew that he did not have the time to go searching for him.

The flight back was just as quick, Haldram not conserving energy at all.

‘HO! Pyrymis. Message is delivered. I couldn’t find either Rune or Lhey. But I left a message for Lhey’s assistant. The Colony is well protected. But do you have any idea how we can defeat them? Lhey did not tell me of his plans.’

A new beginning

::emerges from the forest floor full and clean, her silver scales sparkling in the shining moon light. I pause a moment and look around she spied her cave at the small ledge up the cliff a little ways. I smiled and let out a tremendous roar letting it ecco through the cliffs and rumble across the mountains terrain:: "Home." I wispered disbelieveingly. "I'm home." ::Finally her hiding was over and she could now return to her normal life. She spread her wings and lept into the air, beating hard, and soared back onto her ledge perching on the edge and looking out over the night sky.::

Goda

An imagined camera zooms in on what appears to be a great snowy mountain top. It stops near small crack and patiently you would sit wondering what would happen next. Suddenly the crack is opened, making a great yellow, snake like visable.
Quickly there's a zoom out so that you can see the whole impressing mountain top. With a blink of an eye it seems to go through all the evolutioary stages at once. Further movement. Two of the greatest wings anyone would ever see are spread. There are quite a good set of special fx guys on this particular show because the next thing that happens is quite astounding.
You see the front the mighty dragon now and he is spreading his wings to their fullest against the sun that's on it's way down making something that's equally frightening and beautiful. All this happens without a single living being watching it...
Well almost.

Goda leapt through the sky and began flying. He knew exactly where he was going and nothing was going to stop him.

Brazous

Brazous looked over at his new found friend. "Eh, I agree with your logic in this. Lets fly over to that meadow about two miles to the east. There we can set down and polymorph to human form so we can sneak up on them. "

Pyrymis

Pyrymis looks over at Haldram. "Hmmm, I wonder what the two of them are up to. No matter, I am too busy to concern myself with such things. I think the best way to defeat these Slayers is to take them on one at a time. Use our brains to strategize a way to kill them. Some of these youngbloods will not survive, since they are trying to use brawn alone. "

Wondering eyes

(ooc: Warning this contains some graphic gore if you are squeemish do not read the whole thing I will split the part in two so those who dont want to read dont have to. I am just exercizing my right to freedom of speech and believe me this is cool to me. Thanks Krysta.)

::she spied a small speck on the horizen flying:: "hummm..wonder what all that is about" ::she shrugged and watched as the vally below became silent and still:: "I wonder if i'll meet anyone soon." ::she shrugged to herself and smiled as she spied a small lost deer:: "mmmmmm....a snack!" :: She leaped off of her perch and soared above silently stalking her pray::::she smiled and drove herself forward with speed and agility tward the ground and the deer. She smiled wickedly as her talon split its side. She let out a roar before she bent her head down and quickly snapped it upward mercifully breaking its neck and putting it out of its misery. She dropped the corpse and smiled:: Dinner!

(ooc: Ok this is the part go back now or forever hold your peace)

:: She then began her feast. She layed down on the soft forrest floor and cracked open the skull letting the gooy liquid spill onto the grass. She smiled then feasted on the delicious brains inside. She proded her tongue savoring each flavor of the delectable insides.:: "mmmmm!" ::she managed between gulps. And split open the stomach.::
:: She finished her meal and left what was left ( a couple of entrails and liver) to the beasts.:: "Gotta go bathe" She thought aloud. And sauntered off into the woods.

Haldram

‘I agree Pyrymis, my old friend. Many of the young bloods would not live to see tomorrow, at the way we have been fighting. You know that I fear nothing, not even death itself. But today, I’m fearful that our kind would be utterly decimated. Yes. I agree that we must formulate a plan, if we are to survive today, and tomorrow.’

Haldram sat himself more comfortably on the crags, letting the sun warm his back. He had gotten the habit of rubbing his chin with the stump of his hand when he was deep in thought. He knew that it will that every ounce of his imagination, notwithstanding his courage and strength. The Slayers have proven to be the most difficult foe yet, and now they did not know how many had crossed the dimensional plains to war on the Dragon kind.

‘How does this idea strike you Pyrymis? Do you remember those large caves that we used to play in when we were younger, down on the northeastern side? Well, if you can lure one Slayer into there, perhaps we may have a chance. We know those caves like the back of our paws, but the Slayer doesn’t. This gives us the advantage. I can hide a some dragons there, like we used to play hide and seek, and ambush the Slayer from many directions. I don’t think a Slayer can withstand the assault of fire, ice and lightning, all together at once. If we can’t kill it in there, I think I have a way of flooding those caves with fireoil. Do you remember why the old Gray forbade us to play in there? Because he was afraid that a Red might accidentally ignite the fireoil bubbling from the ground in the caves. And if we still can’t kill it, then I think our combined strength and magic can bring the entire mountain down on the Slayer. Not many Dragons will survive the ambush, but that is the best I can come up with right now. I will lead some Dragons and prepare the ambush, if you would be so kind as to lure the Slayer in.’

Char

IC: The wind passed me by. The cool breaze brushing against my scales. It was a simple pleasure but probably my last one. My fear was gone I knew I would die. The slayer has me traped in a canyon to small for me to use my wings. I had planed to foce him into my chioce of battle grounds but it apears I've been out smarted.

I placed all my hopes and dreams in one attack but sadly I used the attack on the wrong one. Fate it seems was against me. But now that I know I've been defeated my opnet will have to pay the price. The price of a dragon that knows he's going to lose every thing. Now I can give all I can give because I can't keep it for myself. No my life is not going to last much longer but that dose nto mean it has no meaning. Quite the opisite my life now can have more meaning then it ever did in life.

"So this is when it ends." The slayer looks me in the eyes 'Yes here it ends.' He tightens his grip on his Katar. I brace myself for his on comeing charge. "To the end."

Kaikish

Kaikish and Brazous flew over the meadow, landed, and polmorph. Kaikish spyed a a small camp with some men nearby.

"Man, these hellspawned beasts are hard to kill." said one. "That's what makes them so fun to kill mal" laughed another.

"Maybe they're not as fun as you think" growled Kaikish. He then, using his strengh and the help of Brazous killed the ten of them.

"You want the black horse or the brown?" kaikish said mildly.

Goda

He had slept for some three, four hundred years but Goda was quite good when it came to hunches. There was some nasty young black dragon looking to take over the world and that wasn't something Goda was looking forward.
He took a 90 degree to the left and spied the old mountain of the colony. It had been a long time. And something wasn't right, it almost seemed abandonded. He set himself down and began searching. What had happened?

"I will take the black horse, goes better with my dragon hide. " Laughing at his small joke, Brazous changes shape to a large human, his hair as black as his scales used to be. Brazous used a little mind control to calm the horse, and then vaults onto its back. He looks over at the other dragon, "Come on , lets go take a look at these catapults and ballistas from the ground. We need to take them out before they take out some of our brethren. " Brazous turned his horse and started ridding towards the closest siege engine.
