The Drama-Llama-Rama Thread!

I tried to resist but apparently I can't. My general observation (not taking sides, just surprised, perhaps naively, that tempers can flair so quickly) :

Life is just too damn short to get worked up over something, anything, said in some online forum.

While attachments are formed in a setting like this, they really aren't the same as the attachments we have with our SOs and others in R/T that we care deeply about. And the written comment never comes across the same as a face-to-face discussion about how one feels.

That's all I have to say.

I must respectfully disagree with you. Although it's harder to read tone of voice in a text-based medium, it's not impossible. Further, a great many people have very meaningful relationships that are solely online. I care as much about my friend G. in Iowa as I do about anybody I know in R/T. We've met a couple of times and I love her dearly, but our relationship is primarily online...and yet I would do anything for her. I know many, many people who are in LDRs who feel their online communication is just as important as a R/T relationship, even if they haven't met in person yet. Saying that online attachments aren't the same as R/T ones has some truth, but it is also an overgeneralization. :rose:

I like llamas *nods* except when they spit

We have two of them, a leopard spotted (appaloosa) and a Guanaco

They are wonderful watchguards for our horses. NOTHING gets near our herd with a llama in the pasture. Is a nice protection during foaling season as the neighbor dogs tend to roam and llamas absolutely despise dogs.

*notes this is not REALLY a highjack cuz the thread IS about llamas...sorta....*

I didn't mean to overgeneralize - you are right on that point, especially as it relates to LDRs (in my own little brain, I excluded LDRs from my rationale).

My comment was really directed more towards the less committed relationships...more towards people we communicate with but don't have a serious relationship with.

I may have worded this poorly (I am sort of multi-tasking - I need to stop that ;) ) And I do truly appreciate your respectful disagreement!

Thank you for your feedback :rose:

I used to live near a llama farm....so I know *giggles*

Well, there are llamas and there are drama-llamas! I think I don't want to know what drama-llamas do, do you? Though I hear you're not a saint....Too bad. Saint Minx has such a nice ring to it!

I'm with Netz on the "dear x" thread. I always thought it was meant to be a "Dear random item, no vitriol necessary." Since it's degenerated, I stay away from it. I did like the Blurt thread, except that now everybody assumes it's about them. I got accused of taking a potshot at another poster in there, and I had to go back an look. Yes the Blurt could have applied to the person in question, but it could have also applied to the person who I meant it for, who incidentally, isn't a Litster. I try to keep my Lit blurts on another site, and my blurts from there frequently end up here, in order to avoid what happened above. You see, it's an Isolated Blurt Thread, so maybe we shouldn't read too much into it? It cuts down on the Drama, you see?

And now, hugs and gropes for all who want them...

I can't get that damned song out of my head.... make it stop! MAKE IT STOP!

LLama, llama, DUCK!

AAAAaaaaaaarrrrrggggghhhhhhhhh!!!!!!

Try getting it out of your head when every time you look out the window, you see actual llamas and ducks wandering around your yard....

Umm... Should I interpret this to mean that you don't approve of my idea? <Innocent look>

Side Note Nº. 1: I like your flea comment, but I'd always heard it as "May the fleas of a thousand camels infest your jockey shorts!" No goats, so I can ignore the second part of that one.

Side Note Nº. 2: Low grade coal will still burn, and it's cold this time of year. I'll accept.

Side Note Nº. 3: Now, that (re the supermodels) is just plain mean!

Side Note Nº. 4: I've had three wives thus far, and no plans at this point to add another, but should I do so, I will strongly keep in mind that the fourth MUST be the last. I like my bedsheets clean and smooth and comfy.

Thanks for your input, and please give the lovely Dani a cyberhug for me.

I was just getting into the spirit of this drama thing. :D
