USA PANICS as Canada REFUSES to Negotiate - Carney: "NOT Supplicant", Trump Fumbles

Canada now sees it's exposure to the USA as a strategic risk - it sees its close ties to the US as a weakness - a weakness that Canada must correct....go figure. Trump has achieved an economic miracle, he's turned our closest friend and trading partner into the other side of a divorce. Winning al the way.

Andof course there's a major pronlem - any deal with the USA is not worth the paper it's written on now. It's poitless for Canada to even meet with anyone from Trump's Administration. And at this pint in where we are now, the USA is in no position to be making demands. Thanks to Trump, our economy will soon be imploding.

ALUMINUM SUPPLY HITS ZERO — CANADA DUMPS US, SHIFTS 78% TO EU

It really doesnt pay to act first and then do your homework later.

Canada has or is moving 78% of its aluminium exports to Europe in response to Trump's tariffs.

It's probably a very good thing for the planet as a whole to have the USA's economic dominance knocked down.

Thanks, MAGAts!

Canada Increases Aluminum Exports to Europe

For years, North America operated as a tightly connected aluminum market, with Canada supplying the majority of U.S. demand. That system has now shifted, as exports are redirected toward Europe and other global markets, leaving U.S. supply chains under pressure and forcing industries to adapt to rising costs.

U.S. Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick TALKS SHIT About Canada

Lutnick is one of the reasons why a lot of Canadians want nothing to do with the US.

Varney is asking the right question because farmers cannot wait for 50 days of meetings when they have to plant crops right now. Meetings won't grow food only the fertilizer will and the prices are going out of control for farmers. They needed a solution 50 days ago. It's spring and at the point where it's too late to fix. 10-10-10 is 10% Nitrogen, 10% Phosphate and 10% Potash (Potassium). The rest is more or less filler. No mention of the obvious source of potash, being Canada. The US gets 80%-90% from Canada with very few other suppliers available and Trump slapped tariffs on that, pushing the price up so that farmers can't afford it, and it doesn't matter to Canada. They just sell it elsewhere.

A survey from the American Farm Bureau Federation reports that 70% of U.S. farmers say they cannot afford or secure enough fertilizer for the 2026 season. The real catastrophe will begin to unfold in a couple of weeks time as planting season begins. Without fertilizer, it's pointless as crop yields will be so low farms won't be making any money so why would they plant. Withour orders, there won't be fertilizer in the farm supply warehouses, and it takes time t ship that stuff. YOu don't get it delivered by UPS for farms- thety use large amouts and it's bulky. Food prices are going to explode.

Personally I'm treating this like Covid and stockpiling in the basement. I'm going to use it anyhow, I'll just buy essentials in bulk now - flour, rice, etc etc, plus a few extra boxes of MRE's LOL and tuck it all way. If it doesn;t eentuate and things get solved, no problem, it'll all get used up anyhow.

The Trump Administration really seems to have no idea of the tidal wave coming down the pipeline, do they?

DonOld & the MAGAt republicans are following the standard republican playbook: Enact policies that transfer MORE wealth to the rich, fuck up the general economy, foreign relations, the environment, and society, and then leave a yuuuuge mess for Democrats to clean up.

And of course, when Democrats aren’t PERFECT in their efforts to address the crises republicans manufactured, the right AND "the left" will blame the Democrats for EVERYTHING, thus paving the way for another republican cabal to take power.

The groundwork is already being established by the right AND "the left" for the next “It’s the Democrats’ fault” campaign. And low-information, low-intelligence, low-education voters (DonOld & the MAGAt republicans’ favorite kind) will probably repeat history and reward the right AND "the left", and punish Democrats.

Oh yesh, because one of the things here is all this is bankrupting large numbers of the remaining family farms which are now being bought up by the agricultural conglomerates/

Nobody can tell me the Administration is not aware of the consequences of their actions.

Personally, I'd advocate for natioanlizing those factory farming companies without compensation and redistributing them as family farms. Been done before, and needs to be done again.

I would have preferred that you quoted my entire post, but I have zero problem with your response.

Monopolies and conglomerates are having a field day while operating under DonOld & the MAGAt republicans’… "oversight"…

^^^Blame and catastrophe assessment by the guy who thinks that daily crowing about his blaming prowess on the Lit politics board is an effective form of political advocacy. I tend not to be attracted to this approach, nor do I perceive it as being effective parody of the MAGAts

4000 posts per year, mainly focused on blaming and Told-Ya-So. Is such behavior partially responsible for the Democratic Party being perceived as a bit out of touch?

It certainly is not the kind of behavior I see in real life with leadership at local meetings of Democrats.

I suspect the reason my posts bother you is because there is a fuckton of truth in what I’m saying (though I don’t fully understand your consternation, as I don’t see you as "the left" I am railing against).

😑

Also: While you perceive my posts as “blame and catastrophe assessment”, they are ACTUALLY intended as an objective factual autopsy of recent elections, AND as a preemptive cautionary warning aimed at preventing a REPEAT of the past mistakes & outright sabotage authored by "the left" that led to / contributed to DonOld & the MAGAt republicans seizing power.

😑

Bottom line:

The right AND "the left" LIED about the Democratic Party’s policies and priorities in the lead up to recent major elections for DIFFERENT reasons: The right LIED for obvious reasons (to fool the electorate and win the elections), but "the left" LIED for more long term subversives reasons (to hijack the Democratic Party and its infrastructure a la DonOld & the MAGAts hijacking of the republican party).

🤬

Side consideration:

I also see "the left" attempting to rewrite history and blame the Democratic Party’s policies & priorities (rewriting those policies & priorities as well) for the losses in 2016 & 2024, and I am just trying to keep / set the record straight.

👍

The way I see it is establishment Democrats expected enthusiasm and votes when important portions of the base were not being heard. Harris admitted she made a big mistake when she told an interviewer during her campaign that she would not do anything different if she could go back and redo some of the Biden administration decisions. This is her own post-mortem statement. It is not a rewriting of history by what you so condescendingly call "the left".

Let this sink in. She admitted the mistake. You don't. You blame the messenger for not passively accepting status quo policies within the Democratic Party.

I get the feeling you're out of touch a very important part of the Democratic base who are deeply harmed by policies controlled by high-dollar lobbyists in Washington DC. You fancy yourself as being in the middle, but you do not appreciate how far both parties have been pulled to the right by the big money lobbyists.

The grass roots of the Democratic Party will not accept status quo politics controlled by the DSCC and the DCCC. If you think I'm bad about this rebellion against the big money lobbyist stranglehold on Washington politics, you should hear what is taking place in the local Democratic precinct meetings.

Blaming what you call "the left" is not a winning strategy. Condescension is a very bad look for the Democratic Party.

Trump and company can't see 2 or 3 moves ahead hence the problems we currently are having with inflation and affordability.

If farmers dont eat, we don't eat. Rising prices on the horizon.

ChloeTzang, I farm and raise cattle so I am very aware of farm supply problems.... in the past we employed anhydrous ammonia and actually tilled the earth.... we (the US) produced the an-hi in the lower 48. Now we don't, we import near all of the fertilizer. In regards to pesticides, the environmental laws have made producing these products so expensive and without these chemicals we in agriculture cannot produce the yields required to feed this nation let alone export any products
Out here in the west, we are experiencing a severe drought. No snow (provides natural accruing nitrogen), no rain and warm winds scower the unprotected top soil... the only reason we aren't experiencing "dust bowl" conditions is because of modern farming practices, ie, minimum till, no till....but even these practices will go only so far.....
The human race owes it's entire existence to two factors...... "6 inches of top soil and the simple fact that it rains"...
ChloeTzang, it is my firm belief that this entire situation has been engineered by an "unseen hand" to produce these results that you witness for the destruction of my way of life, the near extinction of the human race and the destruction of the US dollar that will drive us "little people" into an economic prison of the likes we've never seen.... sweetie, stack your preps deep and keep your mouth shut about what you have, train with the evil black rifle, learn raido communications. In fact learn as many skills as you possibly can, practical skills.... sweetie you nor I can't imagine the horror that is now enveloping us......
If you want to discuss this deeper feel free to pm me or for that matter I'll post it out in public....Becky....

What steps are you taking to increase production and lower the inflated cost of beef? Or do you like the carbon limits obiden imposed that caused this debacle? It has been long enough where there should be recovery yet the beef prices are growing to nearly double what they were when the obiden regime imposed limits.

Clearly MAGA is the earth keeper and with his Holy Trump we will rule the world for hundred of years if not 3 more.years

The main utility of being a prepper is to teach others how to live on less, not to just be holed up in a bunker.

Other greedy and imperialistic cultures have fallen. It's good to have examples showing how to adjust.

NATO DUMPS USA For SWEDEN - Boeing Ditched for Swedish Saab, 40-Year Monopoly ENDS

For forty years, NATO’s airborne surveillance spine belonged to Boeing. Now that monopoly is breaking—not because Europe suddenly turned ideological, but because America made its own defense supply chain impossible to trust.

✈️ Why NATO’s reported move from Boeing’s E-7 Wedgetail to Saab’s GlobalEye marks a major shift in alliance procurement
🇸🇪 How a Swedish radar system mounted on a Canadian jet became the preferred replacement for NATO’s aging AWACS fleet
🇺🇸 Why the real trigger was not European anti-Americanism, but Washington pulling out of its own Boeing program first
🛡️ What this says about the growing European push to build defense capability around suppliers that can actually deliver on time
📉 How one cancelled US order undermined Boeing’s position and exposed the fragility of relying on American program continuity
🌍 Why this decision fits a wider pattern of Europe reducing dependence on US defense, energy, and digital infrastructure
📚 What viewers will learn about how alliance politics, procurement risk, and industrial sovereignty are colliding inside NATO itself

This is not just a story about one aircraft contract. It is a sign that Europe is no longer treating American defense primacy as an automatic default. When reliability breaks, sovereignty stops being a slogan and starts becoming a purchasing decision.

Canada Turns to Europe—Leaving U.S. Aluminum Behind

Canada is redirecting its aluminum supply away from the US — and American manufacturers are already paying the price. Quebec's share of aluminum going to the US dropped from 95% to 78%, while US Midwest premiums surged 82% and American car costs rose $1,500 per vehicle.

In this video, we break down exactly why Canada made this shift, where the aluminum is going instead, and what it means for American automakers, aerospace companies, construction firms, and everyday consumers paying more at every level.

Alcoa diverted 100,000+ tonnes away from US buyers. A 22% fall in Canadian deliveries created a 1.2 million tonne supply gap domestic US producers cannot fill. And Canada is now building permanent trade relationships with Europe and Asia that will outlast any tariff negotiation.

This is not a temporary disruption. This is a structural supply chain transformation driven directly by Washington's own tariff decisions.

The economy thread is not the place for conspiracy lunacy or misinformation

ChloeTzang, it is my firm belief that this entire situation has been engineered by an "unseen hand" to produce these results that you witness for the destruction of my way of life, the near extinction of the human race and the destruction of the US dollar that will drive us "little people" into an economic prison of the likes we've never seen.

Or do you like the carbon limits obiden imposed that caused this debacle?

The economy thread is not the place for conspiracy lunacy or misinformation
Sir/Mam, I have no intention of "derailing" the thread.... as I view it the economy thread is about money. That is what I was referring to, money, collusion and greed. The price of commodities, it's manipulation via back room synagogue deals, 3 martini lunches are not conspiracy lunacy, it's every day business.....
Don't like what I write, put me on ignore.....

The main utility of being a prepper is to teach others how to live on less, not to just be holed up in a bunker.

Other greedy and imperialistic cultures have fallen. It's good to have examples showing how to adjust.
Coati, I pretty much agree with your statement....but I'll add this, without deep storage you may find that in times of failure, you may find those stores quite valuable....

You raise cattle....
What steps are you taking to increase production and lower the inflated cost of beef? Or do you like the carbon limits obiden imposed that caused this debacle? It has been long enough where there should be recovery yet the beef prices are growing to nearly double what they were when the obiden regime imposed limits.
I'm gonna ponder your questions for a little bit, because of your very good question I want to answer you to the best that I am able.........
Also your question as simple as it sounds has a complex answer......
