You were wrong about March Madness.
 
So much bravado until the bond markets spoke. They’re supposed to be the place you put your money when equities are falling, but they started wobbling too and something changed.

If the Chinese issue was always the thing, then I’m not sure why they didn’t just focus on them from the start and begin ramping up tariffs with a deal in mind. Instead they seem to have picked a fight with everybody at once.

If the pitch is that these tariffs - even if in the short term they make loads of stuff significantly more expensive and the stock market plummet - in the medium term will bring back wealth and manufacturing how do you then explain in a few weeks and months that you’re progressing with deals that remove the tariffs?

Obviously the base will lap it up no matter what but the base isn’t enough.
