The Enchanted Cottage

I found the following writing some time back... I hadn't really been looking for it; but I think it deserves to be here... I hope you will too.

I wrote it while on a flight back home from Massachusetts to tend to the burial details for my late sister.

For My Sister ©

She was goodness,
She was light...
Always there,
Always bright.

She was my rock,
My anchor ~
A safe harbour to me
When life's storms
Threatened to drag me down.

She didn't always like me ~
But that was ok. For you see,
Sisters don't always like each other.
But, in a pinch ~
She was always there.

With a kind word, a soft smile, always
With God's words of comfort on her lips.
You could walk into her home
And feel the calm, the Peace,
The Tranquility.
How she loved her God.

Now, my cherished Sister
Has slipped the silver bonds
Of earth ~
To touch the face of God.

May God grant you Eternal Peace

You are more than welcome to 'hang out' here MM. Feel free to read what has been written... or if you feel inspired - join in. Encouragement - or what I like to call positive strokes/stroking - is the key here... and is welcome from - and to all. :rose:

I shouldn’t care
But I do
I can’t explain why
I called you friend
Of that I was sure
Until the other day

I thought I was special
You told me I was
But now I don’t know
Where did it go wrong

http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d104/AngeloftheMist/engel.jpg

What did I do
What didn’t I do
To cause you to treat me
With such disregard
Like yesterday’s news
Battered and worn

I tried to tell you
I tried to explain
You blew me off
Without a second thought
Now I’m left with the pain
Lost and alone…once again

Cherokee Nation

Cherokee Nation

It was a cold winter’s night

The wolves howls caused an eerie fright

Cherokee souls dance over the land

Where our Chiefs would stand

Our camps fire burning bright

Until the white man caused our plight

Death and destruction they caused to ascend

Yet against our women the white men sinned.

Maidens soul dance around the fire light

Our warriors souls will rise tonight

The death’s and rapes they will revenge

Cherokee nation will return amen

Amen. Hauntingly beautiful my Sweeter Sis.

May the wolves haunting cry
Throughout this darkest night
Avenge the souls within the light
Maidens dance as Chieftains stand
Proud upon the Cherokee's land.

This seems a quiet and relaxing place, perfect for enjoying poetry.

Does it have a fireplace? ;)

aw...that made me cry....

 Thank you Sweeter Sis. It'll be coming up on six years the 22 of this month, that she's been gone - and I miss her every day - and I still can't remember, if, during what was to be our last telephone conversation, I told her, "I love you, Gumba" (that was our nickname for each other). It still rips at me.

~ There is a nice fireplace in the living room of the Holiday Cabin... and over at The Hacienda as well. You'll find plenty of comfy furniture to curl up in too. We keep lots of soft chenelle throw blankets on the far end of the raised hearth so you can snuggle under one while you read.

It was our intent, that the place be built with, and exude, the sense of peace and quiet, the need for relaxation and rest. It had to have - plenty of places to find solitude and tranquility... and be far away from all the noises that surround us in our every day lives. Just the sort of place - from which one can choose their favourite spot - to sit and write poetry - or to read it.

Welcome to our sanctuary - our haven - our Enchanted Cottage. Please - feel at ease and I hope you return, often.

Hi {{{gw}}} glad you found it *smiles*

I'm sure there's a fireplace around here... have to stay warm somehow on chilly nights *winks*
