IC: Currain
Long millinia ago the Island kingdom of Atlantis suffered the gods wrath for their hubris. To save the people the priests beseeched the Atlantean gods for mercy and deliver them from their doom, and the gods answered. Thus the underwater kingdom of Atlantis was born, populated with men and women that were part fish to survive and even thrive for centuries under the ocean's surface.
Currain was once a prince, the youngest son of the king of Atlantis, until he became enamored with a surface-worlder, an enchantress, a witch, named Samara. Using his infatuation with her she used him to steel the trident of Posiedon from his father. Being chased by his father's forces he helped Samara flee to a grotto hidden within a cliff face
There they had made love for the first time before she left him and it was magical. But Samara was more sinister than Currain believed. She used the trident to enchant the water of the grotto. Currain could never leave it, while as long as he swam within its golden waters he would not age nor need food, but with it came a curse to bear. He was eternally aroused and unable to find fulfillment.
Years have passed, and the moon was beginning to veil the light of the sun once more. It was on a day such as this, a day of an eclipse Atlantis had fallen underneath the waves. He could see it high above through the chimney of the grotto. The sky grew dark as more and more sunlight was blocked by the sun. The water of the grotto glowed with a supernatural golden light. The magic Samara had trapped within the water was escaping. With it someone could use to make whatever they wished to reality. All except for Currain
Someone was climbing down a rope to the grotto from the chimney opening. She was not Samara come to take what pleasure from him once again. This woman was new, a stranger, a land-walker. Currain watched her hidden behind a rock. She was beautiful for a land-walker. If she entered the water, perhaps he would finally find release with her. He hoped so.
