the entrance!

Ether made it to the top of Gateleader crest. It was called such, because it was the highest peak in the godly mountains. Getting a bearing of his directions, he looked into his spyglass to the southeast. There, in the distance, represented by nothing more than a dot was Lokken's Castle. Looking down from the horizon he notices a dot of ligth. A campfire, he realized, as he gazed through the spyglass. And 2, no 3 figures perched around it. Must be Lokken, Mab and Garret. They were a good 3 days ahead of him, and a good 3 days away from the castle. a direct persuit wouldn't due. He needed a faster rout to the castle, to perhaps cut them off before they got there. He looked to the other side of the ring of mountains, and saw a well paved road. strange, it wasn't there before, and if Lokken saw it, why wasn't he taking it? Ether figured it must be a sign from the gods, and began his persuit, climbing down the mountain.
SOmething else plaigued Ether as he traveled. "a sign from the gods" Ether remembered his meating with the god Gateleader. She said that Ice will bind the chaotic waters, love will carve it smooth. Love? Ether allways expected to fall inlove with another rare hybrid. He allways liked to toy with thoughts of mating with a half fire elemental. There were none, so he had to think of his situation. Trying to though, only left him with more questions.

Garret listened to her song, it was so beautiful. He moved beside her, putting his hand in hers. Garret waited until she was finished.
"That is so beautiful."
"Thank you," she said. She squeezed his hand once, then turned to kiss him.
"Let's get moving," it was Lokken again, did he have a heart of stone, or maybe no heart at all.
Garret followed Lokken, it was only a matter of a few days now, until he was back home.
It wasn't his home though, it was Lokken's. Garret suddenly realized he had no home. The only home he did have was as a bodyguard, and he gave that up so long ago. Garret walked on alone, trying to think some things out, by himself (everyone got that???!!!???).
He looked back at Mab, she seemed so preoccupied with something. Garret almost thought she was missing a loved one, if he wasn't positive he was her girl. Garret still didn't feel right about something, it just wasn't right.
Garret walked on...

"All of you, come here", Lokken commanded. They did. "I want to tell yo all a true story", he said. "It began one day when Lokken sat on his throne in Taros. He had heard of the legendary band of adventurers lead by the infamous Roland Gilliad and his friends. You all know of him. So he decided to invite them. He sent his lead general, Thrinta, to invite them. They wanted to kill the dark legend, Mikba, first. So Lokken let them. They came later and the result was an almost destroyed castle. Then they fled, thinking that Lokken would kill them. HE set out by himself to find them and tell them they were forgiven. But they had already run away. He spent five years in the wilderness looking for them. Then, he learned of a quest to make peace with another nation and wanted to join it. When he arrived, the originals and a few new ones sat there. They greeted Lokken with hate and despise, but he greeted them with friendship. They began to move and he proved to be a valuable ally. Then they stumbled upon the patrician's secretary. He began to kidnap the nobles and attack us. There, I had my first run in with Fuge, the one who killed my family. Me and Sith overcame him though, and became friends. Then, we ran onto the camp to find them being attacked by living vines and trees. There, Lokken made what could be the greatest sacrifice. He began a spell that burned the vines. Even so, the spell began to kill him, still he went on, scars and gashes tearing through him. Finally, after the vines died, he collapsed. I will tell you the rest of the story later", he said, crying.

OOC; was that the story of "king and country" thread? I triedreading it in hopes to join in, untill I realized it was over 3 friggen hundred posts long. Oh, don't worry, Ether never heard the story. But you have to remember, I'm a god! I SEE AND HEAR EVERYTHING!

Garret started a fire, it seems like they were going to spend the night here.
"Nice tale, Lokken. I remember the story a bit differently, but that was the jist of it."
Lokken snared at him, as if to dare that his story wasn't completely accurate, Garret got the idea and backed off.
Lokken went out to get some dinner, while Mab stared off into the distance. Garret went over to her.
"What are you looking at?" she jumped, as if suprised to see him.
"Gateleader's crest. It is the tallest in all the land."
Garret looked at it, it was very beautiful.
"Dinner," Lokken ordered. They ate a simply meal of harbs and roots.
Garret slept by Mab, but she still seemed preoccupied. Soon, she got up, and left Garret alone. He wanted to go after her, but for some reason he didn't.
Mab kept looking up at Gatleader's crest. Garret looked at her, feeling very sad. He went to sleep with a tear on his cheek.

Lokken looked on at the mountain in front of them. It wasn't his favorite, but it's god had given him the sign of life. How he hated that mark! Yet, how he respected it. In an attempt to stop a few robbers from melting down a statue of Gateleader, some of the gold spilled on his left arm. Then, the godess appeared and blessed him for doing this. He had become immortal at that moment(immortal means killable, just not of age).

OOC; I'm sorry, but if I'm a god, then there are a few things I'd like to do. Fist of all, The oceans and waters will turn yellow. The sky will become green and the trees will weep milk. It's a little twist on the usual omen of things to come, but then again, what exactly is about to come anyway?

IC; Ether treked along the smooth trail circling outside the godly mountains. The trail appeared well word, the game was plentifull (like he ate that kinda food anyway. Give him an icicle and he's good for the day), the sky was overcast with a haze of clouds that chilled the air Just enough for ether to be Absolutely comfortable. THis was definitely a gift from the gods. However, Ether did not take advantage of his situation. He was cautius, hasty, and determined. His goal was to reach Lokken's castle before he did, or at the very least at the same time. At gateleaders crest, he was 3 days behind, and that was a day ago.

Ether did make one side stop. Mount cryo was on the way, and he felt necesary to pay homage to his patron god. Mount cryo was the only mountain in the cluster with snow, and the snow mysteriously reached all the way to the base. Eher made his stay short however, as he felt the urgency to get this finished with.

OOC; the omen things about the yellow waters, green sky and trees weaping milk can be ignored I was just having fun with the minds of all the simpletons in our little world.

OOC: ignoring will commence... now.

IC: Belial flew down from above the mountains. The sky became black and green lightning crackled overhead. Belial was going to pay a little visit to his mountain, and at the same time, have a little chat with Gateleader and Cryo. He approached, making no sign of his passing. Finally, he arrived. "Gateleader, Cryo, come forth", he bellowed so only they could hear. They came, appearing, dressed in their war-garments. "I see you two are paying attention to the news?" he asked. "The gods' war HAS started, and you had better choose a force. And don't try to touch Lokken, you both know that I can easily overpower both of you. After all, you weren't chosen to be part of the three", he said mockingly. "Come join me, and the Council of Terror", he said.

My chosen is allready on his way to stop Lokken from his evil quest. And you know very will that as long as a balance exists, you couldn't overpower Morn!" the goddess of cerinity is reported to be the weakest of the gods.
"Indeed, mine is soon to add help to Cryo's. and though we may not be able to defeat each other, mortals are."
"You two are fools! Lokken is destined to become one of us, and has been since before you gave him the mark of life!" he almost spat at Gateleader."
"I may be a god of neutrality, but there is no peacefull resolution to this issue. The blance must be maintained. It was maintained in the dragon wars, it was maintained in the lost era, and it will be maintained now!"
"I agree with Cryo. But you, Belial, you should not be one to rave and rant when things don't go as you plan. Everyone of us knows everything as it is. Mortals should be the ones to put up a good front, as my children say."
"We cannot change the past, nore severly alter the present. Even if we could, I would not because I believe that this is the just thing to do. My child was given the task and ability to find and defeat yours. But the rest is up to him. As is your Lokken. He is not speeking your words, only his own. His actions are his own, not yours. We created the mortals this way, and this way we must abide"

"Well, the Rules shall be followed", Belial said, mockingly. "But I warn you, the Council of Terror and the Order of Honor have arisen. Choose Wisely!" he axclaimed, then disapeared.

Lokken: Lokken stood up and called the others to him. "We leave now", he said. They began walking through the brush. They met no opposition along the way. "This is quiet. Just a little too quiet", said Lokken, suddenly stopping and looking around. There wasn't even a bird's chirp in these lands.

Mab knew her silence hurt Garret, but she was confued. What was gateleader speaking of.
Ahouse appered before her. An old woman stood in a weedie garden, stooped over. Mab went to her.
Gentley Mab took her elbow."Come, sit, Gradmother. You should not be doing this. Is there o one to help you?"
"Oh thank you my dear," the woman replied,"I am so tired. all who pass ignore me."
Mab took up her hoe and begain to weed.
"you are Mab, are you not? The one fortold in the writings?
Mab looked at her. "Oh, yes, my child I know of you.Sit and I will tell the tale."
Mab sat across from her. Garret and Lokken stood arguing at the endge of the womans land.
"Many many years ago, when the dragons still flew the skys, a monk wrote the ledgand down,as it ws told to him by Drakko, the great dragon.
A chld would be born of man and gods. This child would have the power to destroy the gods. To protect the chid drakko put a spell on it. It would live among mortals tell it's 19th year. Then itwould venture to a city threatened. In this city it would find it's true love. They would venture forth and be taken in by an evil force. They would attack the white castl and be taken to the sacred woods.
Now Mab, you are that child fortold. So you will know the power you have within you."

the trail followed by Ether converged into a main road leading away from the godly mountains. When ether stepped on it, and looked back, he saw that there was no trail. As if the landscape simply swallowed it up or there was no trail to begin with.
Standing next to the road, facing away from the mountains was a pyrimidal monolith, with strange writing on it. The monolith was a foot taller than Ether. It was perfact Onyx. The black stone gleamed in the sunlight. The surface was purfectly smooth and the corners were sharp. How such perfection could be obtained was beyond Ether.

In bright, pristine letter, where everyone could see them, was written; Ahead lies the ring of the gods. THe point in this world where all natural monuments to the gods meet. Enter with Awe, enter with Reverance. Because what you enter with your heart is what you get when you leave!

on the 4 other sides were writing in a language not familiar by Ether. Yet, as he looked closer, he found that he could read them! so he did;

When the world they need a hero be,
three will stand and follow thee.
The sky will darken black as ink,
the ground will crumble with a quake.
a king of kings will rise and fall,
a son of sons will make the call
a man of simple fortune past
will make the peaceful, rise and last.

That was the prophecy of Ancca, the hero of the wounded wars. The priest king grew corrupt and tried to destroy the world. With his magic and godly gifts, he made the ground shake untill it rented and broke, creating many caverns, gourges and craters. A farmer named Ancca was chosen by the gods to stop the ecorrupt cleric, but he refused to give up his simple life as a farmer. Only the grandson of the priest was able to convince him to fight the war, and he and 2 powerfull strangers helped him win.
On another side of the monolith was another prophecy;

One of both the low and high, whome gods find fatal, by and by, with not a spell cast of the Dran, a spell to protect from harshest rain. for winters past of 9 and 10, the one will be forgotten when, A call for help, and birds of three, the leader downed with a necrmoancers dream. Love will find it, here and then, it's forgotenness lost right then. A futile quest resulting be, the taking in of a strange 3. And only through trechery, war and flight, could the one there, win the night.

There was more, but he couldn't read it. Ether pondered the prophecy for a moment longer, then continued his trek to Lokken's castle.

OOC; Dran was the old name of Drakken.

OOC; Echem, Morgoth, Gateleader, Poohlive, have you forgotten the old paradigm? With great power comes great responcibility. Well we are all gods here! power doesn't get any greater (with the exeption of my dimentional warriors). Take action and responcibility and finish this damn story! I'll gladly take your places, but you have to tell me first!

OOC: Just want to make something clear. I am not a god, and don't plan on being, lol, don't care for that reasponsibility crap, too much to watch over. Sorry, I was on vacation for a few days, visiting old friend, finally got back.
IC:
Garret turned his head. Mab was sitting silently with the old woman. He didn't know why she was so distant lately, was it him. It always was him. HE could never do anything right, not even fall in love. Garret blew out a deep sigh.
"You are wrong, we need to get moving."
Garret turned back to Lokken, "Listen, we have been on soldier march for the past three days. Now we are barely an hour's walk from your precious castle. If you want to go, then go. I am going to wait for Mab, there is something wrong with her, something I hope I can help with."
For some reason, he knew he couldn't help it though. This was one thing she needed to help on her own.

OCC: Sorry I've been gone so long. Work, ugh! Cryo, Mav isn't a god(that she knows of)

IC:
Mab watched Lokken walk away. Garret stood alone at the edge of the clearing.
"Is this the man you love?" The old woman asked smiling.
"He is. But I think he..."
" He feels that he has failed you."

OCC: I'll post moreof this later.( My roommate is making me let her use the somputer)

OOC; Not mab, you. You are gateleader, goddess of hope, I am Cryo, neutral god of Ice, Morgoth is Belise, evil God of the undead. Poohlive is the good god of fate. (I'm just filling in blanks here. you, poohlive and morgoth can mace changes if you feel that I'm not entirely accurate.)

Actually, someone should write down the landmarks and past events that occured here. We're really creating a world for adventure! What with the Prophet's gate, the godly mountains, Ancca's adventure, etc...

OOC: well if poohlive is a good, I think fate and justice would more suit me. I always loved Athena, goddess of justice (and a few others, I forget them all) she was a killer god.
I understand where you are going Cryo. This would actually make a good story, if MORGOTH WOULD ACTUALLY WRITE SOMETHING.... lol just kidding but seriously morgoth could you come back to us please?
we just kind of dropped it off here.
IC:
Garret slowly made his way over to Mab and the old woman.
"Is everything all right?"
The old woman motioned for him to sit down.
"There is something you should both know, something that will change your destinies forever."
Garret held his breath, this was big, and he knew it. He held her hand, and she squeezed back.
The old lady began, "...(you are better at writing her Mab, go for it)

OOC: (panting like a maniac) I'm finally back. Work has been very extreme! I am so sorry, guys!

IC: Lokken stalked away to his castle. He was definitely not happy. He reached it quickly and was greeted with cheers. He simply retired to his room.

Belial:
Belial paced the throne room until he heard the last of the other gods leave. He quickly flung a door open. He walked down a long, winding stairway until he reached an enormous gate. He opened the gate and entered a gargantuan chamber. He quickly got to his knees. "O Dark One, come and speak to your humble servant", he said modestly. Two red eyes appeared in front of him, the redness radiating evil stronger than even Belial's. "Get me out of this abysmal hole, Belial, or there will be hell to pay!" it shouted, causing countless earthquakes on Earth. Then the eyes muttered and anyone(that means all you other gods) who was watching the scene, quickly forgot what he just saw. Then, the eyes dissapeared and Belial regained his posture. He went back up the stairs, closing the gates and the door.

OOC; you make us seem like mortals and you the evil mortal trying to bring an evil god to our relm. I have only seen this once befor, and that was chaos, father of the gods. he was power beyond the gods comprehention, beyond good evin and neutrality, too high and mighty to even look at the tiny infidels that were the normal gods. THis is an interesting twist if you ask me.

OOC: Why thank you very much, Cryo! The first time I read this, I misunderstood and thought you were telling me it was a bad idea. I am afraid that I cannot write here until some one writes an instory paragraph.

Ether wound his way up the trail. One more bend and he would be back at the castle. Drawing his blue katana for reassurance, He broke into a run...and stopped cold.

Looking to his left, he felt an immence tug, leading him back towared the forest of wonder. The emotional pull was so strong that he almost fell over in that direction. Indicicive, he knelt on the chilly ground and prayed to his patron god.

Ether stood up in understanding. Lokken can wait. turning into the forest, he quickly found a small game trail, and followed it to another part of his destiny.

Belial walked his dark castle's corridors, waiting for the others in the council. When they finally arrived, Belial sat in his war armor. "We must unbalance the white side for exactly 1 month", he commanded. The others murmured in agreement without even understanding. "What fools", Belial thought silently. The gods picked up their war armor and stepped into their chariots.

Cryo was locked in study, with his fellow neutral gods, Nagion, Takinora, and Chojin. They simultaniously looked up and into the distance.

"The balance is about to be shifted on our plane" said Takinora, the goddess of luck.

"Something must be done" said Chojin, the god of renewal, rebirth, and enhancement.

"What can we do, that will not interfere?" Asked Cryo, the god of Ice.

"We can do nothing, and will do nothing." said Nagion, the high-god of balance. "Only when the scales have been tilted can we tilt ourselves."

"With any luck, they won't."

"My efforts are spent to ensure the balance on the material plane"

"what will we do here, untill something happens?"

"We will watch, and wait. It is what we are here to do, it is what will be done."

All the gods nodded in agreement, and resumed their studies.

Belial rallied an entire army of lesser and greater gods of darkness towards the white one's castle. "They call this a war?" he screamed. "I've seen skirmishes bloodier than this!". The gods threw themselves constantly at the gate again and again, until finally the gate shattered. Belial walked in, followed by his strongest allies. He swept into the throne room and laughed at the feeble god cowering pathetically in a corner.

OOC; just a feeble attempt at reviving this lost thread. Anyone who read it can take over Mab, because I think she's gone for good.

Oh, and By the way, in order to maintain the history of my Ether character in other threads, Something has to happen to end this quest without really ending it......

IC; Ether looked up from where he had broken camp. How long has it been? It feels like months have gon by while I slept.

Soemthing is wrong up there thought Ether looking to the sky. The gods are batteling on their plane. His connection with Cryo allowed him to sense this. He had to hurry. Lokkens castle is a days ride ahead. Mab or no Mab, Garret or no garret, It's up to me to stop him...
