The Files~ Closed for Jack80

Jack was taken back. In a sphere around the flame... and tree. Everything stopped. There was nothing. The fire wisked out, but the tree withered and died, as did the ground around it. There was no air, no life. And it was growing.

"See, Agent Newport. The reason you are so special... why they want your blood... Is because you don't need to focus. And..." He placed a hand on her shoulder. "I couldn't do what you did. And I think you can let go now."

"Every mage... every creature I knows needs a focus or something to use for their magic. You... you just did it with your mind. Maybe you have a focus I don't know about, but only the most powerful of Mages and Magical Creatures, Dragons, ancient faeries, could only do half of what you did."

He sighed. "And that scared the ever living shit out of me. Have you ever thought about this before? Something you just thought of happening? I would be surprised if it hasn't happen before."

Anger, rage, confusion all came to a stop with a wrenching pain shooting through her head. The ground, the landscape, everything begin to swirl in circles, she felt light headed and reached out for Jack to keep from falling down. Her grip clenching upon his arm as the pain continued to bounce around her head. She felt nausea as she bent down and spilled the sickness from her stomach. Small drips of blood fell from her nose...

Jack's words reached into her mind as the pain slowly began to fade, she wiped her mouth while sucking in air heavily. She remained bent over while she processed what he told her which was becoming way to much for her to accept for now he was telling her that dragons and fairies now exist! She slowly pushed herself up, weakly looking over to him. "Please tell me that I'm hooked up to some machine pumping funny meds into me and I'm hallucinating all of this!"

She eased her grip upon his arm and wiped the small stream of blood from her nose. Her gaze looking deeply into his eyes and knew the answer to her pled. "If this kind of power exists in this world how come it's not in plain view? How can this be contained? If these mages are this powerful why is there not an army of these beings floating around the world?" the small answers she wanted just opened a doorway to another realm and now she had thousands of questions.

"Ok!" she swallowed. "Ok, I believe this is for real and I'm a so called sorceress or whatever. What happens now? Do we go out and try to stop this circle? Do we let others know of this...this stuff?" There had to be a serious draw back on this magic stuff or it would be known and used widespread across the world. All this was beginning to weigh heavily upon her. She looked at Jack for a few seconds before nothing but blackness consumed her..

Jack sighed. He ignored most of her outburst as he looked up into the sky. The final cloud fade from view. He could still feel the after shocks of her power all around him. Magic had a way of changing even the slightest of things when used. When one was attuned to it like he was, they could feel it even years after it had been used.

The problem was, the way she had just used magic... the amount. Anyone would be able to feel it. But that was his fault.

Jack guessed he might as well answer her questions. Though, first... "You might want to come back inside my cabin and rest. And let me take a look at your nose and... the rest of you. To make sure you didn't hurt yourself." He said as he walked back into the cabin. He expected her to follow, but he never looked back at her as he grabbed a towel and went on explaining.

"The reason you don't see this every day is because of the Church, and other organizations that tried to destroy us. The hunters... your ancestors, came after us and made us hide. Ever heard of Pompeii? Atlantis? That was magic users trying to draw too much in. And there is only a small amount of us in the world. Maybe a few thousands attuned to it, and creatures left in this world. The stories of Knights on horse back charging at Dragons, are very true." He turned to look at her.

"Sit. Let's see if you broke anything." Jack kneel down in front of Alysa and checked her, his hands tilting her head to the side as he used the towel to ripe away the blood from her lips and hands. "We hid in the shadows, and for a while, we enjoyed it. But now the circle doesn't want to hide. And yes, we have to stop them. Though I think first, we need to find out who else might actually know about you... and kill them."

He said it so matter of fact. "You seem to be alright. Feeling any headaches, or chest pains? Tell me if you are, don't hide them."

She sat down heavily upon the sofa once more with more knowledge than she had before but still overwhelmed with it all. She looked at Jack with more insight than before, however, She still tried to place several alternative reasonings behind his motives in helping her but came up empty for there was nothing to gain, or was there? He hasn't been on this rock and not pick up a few skills. Either way she had no one else to turn too and even if she did she couldn't talk about what was really bothering her.

She looked into his eyes and for the really first time and have noticed how handsome he was for some one over a century old! She slightly chuckled to herself while she continued to gazed in to his eyes, her mind wondering about him, not the circle or what they were trying to do side of him, but to him, to his life experiences, and even to how he felt about her. She shifted a little as that thought made her wonder about that as well! Did he only see her as the item that the circle wanted? Or that he was the teacher and she was the student? Or in an another way all together? She closed her eyes and tried to push these urges of wanting to know deep within herself.

She opened her eyes and resumed the looking into his eyes as he asked her about her pains. She laughed to herself about the pain of not being with anyone for six months but he wasn't asking about that kind of ache. She looked down and ran a system check upon herself,"I still feel sick to my stomach and I keep having these blackout effects now and then." she answered hisx question the best she could.

"May I ask what is our first step in finding out who else knows about me?" she gave him that quizzical face that she always gives everyone when it was time to hit the deep thought process..
