Wasn't a big Springsteen fan when I was younger and this song seemed kind of whiny to crash and burn wild me, but I recall hearing it again in my late twenties after some tough times, a failed marriage and some all around hard knock BS and damned if this fucker didn't hit a lot harder.

I remember my older brother listening to this about a hundred times on a loop after a breakup. Poor lamb.
