Just got home from work ... tired as hell .. not to mention ... another wave of storms heading in .. and we lost our UPS .. battery dead .... i'll try this again tommorrow .....

Well .. after taking a bit of a break ... I'm back .. got kinda burned out ..... *Sighs* ... plus I got some new software toys to play with

Anyway ... also feel kinda of restless .. been doing the same routine forever ..... need to do something different

This may be a double for some of you... but...

If you know me, and you aren't sitting, this might be the time to do so.

As of Wednesday (8/22) I no longer live in Omaha. I asked Phelan to forward a message to the list, but it looks as if he didn't have a chance. It's all good.

Here's the scoop.

Wednesday night my ex and I had a large fight. He still lives in the same house with me, in the basement. I've been considering him one of the roommates. The fight unfortunately, came to blows. He said something very mean, and I slapped him. In return (later) he slapped me, "That's for hitting me earlier." After he did that, the shit hit the fan. I got very angry. I threw his computer moniter across the room, kicked his CPU, etc. I never hit him again, though. In the midst of this I was thrown to the ground several times. The CPU made a gash in the wall during one of these times (I was holding it when he threw me down, thus it had to go somewhere so it wouldn't hurt me). Then I was slapped again when I tried to make a phone call. He attempted to prevent me from making the call, but I did.

It was determined by me, with help from my dad, that I would come to Kansas immediately. I drove down at 1am, and arrived home at 7am Thursday morning. We drove back up for a truck, and moved all my stuff out of the house on Saturday & Sunday. Everything has been moved into my grandmother's garage.

I am safe now. I am not unhappy about leaving him behind. I am upset about leaving all my friends, and my job behind in a flurry. I didn't even get to say goodbye to many people.

That is my big confession. I'm now in Kansas, and in search of another job. I'm waiting on my other roommate to find out if a friend of hers can take over my portion of the lease. Once the lease is settled, all my legal ties to Omaha are cut. I still have friends there! That I am greatful for.

I just wanted to let you guys know what was up.

Thanks for the thoughts guys. I'm doing alright. Everything happened so freakin' fast!! I hate making snap decisions, but it seems that this one was the right one to make. Everyone that I've talked to has said so.

Anyway, starting over is good, right? I'm still in the Heartland though. You can't get rid of me that easily!!

Good morning all!

Just running through quickly this morning... I'll be on later tonight to post some more. My first (and primary) thread here is the Midwestern thread. It's so active that it's hard to catch up if you're away very long. It's a little depressing to see that no one has posted in eight and a half hours here... We gotta do SOMETHING to keep this thread alive!!

Pretty mellow day for me today. Working on my resume so I can go job-hunting tomorrow. I'm dreading that... I hate having to sell myself at interviews.
