It was Aug 1943, The first axis regime fascist Italy had fallen.
Nazi Germany and Imperial Japan remained strong, but for the first time in 4 years there was hope.

My name is Joithan D. Ezertet and, honestly, I had never though I would have ever gotten into this conflict. I haden't even thought America would have ever gotten into it either, judging from what FDR had said, but we did... and perhaps it was for the better.

My family haden't been hit that hard by the depression. It was hard for me to even remember the days before The Crash, they seem like so long ago. My father had been a manager and major shareholder in the steelworking industry, and after the market went bust, we'd lost quite a bit. Still, I suppose we where better of then most, especially after Pearl Harbor, when government orders seemed to start poaring in. Of course, that haden't ended up saving me from the draft... I'd gone thorugh the training and gotten shipped over the Atlantic just like every other man my age. Still, having been sitting on the Isles for so long, I was itching to get into the conflict... even if I was the offier corpse as a Leutent (the draft funneled me into officer school, go figure). That day finally came when me... along with a small force of French Resistance that had been hiding on the St. Lawerence Islands for a year, where heading in to do some sabotage work.

I stood approximantly 6' 1", rather stringy in build, although my training had bulked me up somewhat. My hair was black, a sign of my family's Ottoman heiritage, and cropped back in a militery fashion. My uniform was Urban camo, covering my whole body, and I was working with about 6 others, five of them Frenchmen and one a rather forceful Dutch woman... who come to think of it, I never really understood why they sent her with us. Tonight, we where staulking the areas around the weakly-held parts of the Neatherlands (so that might we why they sent her with us), where a few officers from the Axis had been keeping their civilian support, along with several captives from the French, Dutch, and English battles in the area. Apperntly, there was also a small Jewish center in the area too, but we weren't going for that.

Suddenly, driving down the road, we see a flatbed truck... with guerds manning the brim and woman within. Out squad goes into action, bullets mowing down the battle-weary... I think Germans, though one of them looked vaugly Czech. "Alright," I step out once the guerds are mopped up, the rest of the men follow suit. "All you, get out and stand at attenion," the men repeat the message in French and German, and the woman does so in Dutch.

The women seemed to obey, out of a combination of fear, and curosity.
In true miltary fashion, they were questioned as to the location of an arms cache of the collaborationist army. Two stubbornly kept slient, but the third spilled all she knew.

"Alright men," Joithan ordered his troops. "I want all the Krauts seperated from the POW's, ok? I want them brought to me, while the rest of you escourt the rest back to the pickup point." Slowly, the guerds started weeding through them, bring forth three surviving Germans; two male and one female. He and Dutch woman rounded them all together, keeping a gun at their heads, trying to extract the informantion. The two men kept straght faces; men of the Fatherland, both of them, but the woman... well, she wasen't so tough. He could see it in her eyes.

"Alright, shot the men," it was heartless, yes, but what else could we do? "You there," I yelled at the woman. "Name, rank, cerial number, and any infromation on German troop movements, now! I'd rather not have to strip you."

Johann Streiss, Lutantiant 4562588, He whispered Alder.
That was the code word, the Army had contacts inside the growning anti nazi
resistance. Get this man out of here, the rest of ufall out,

"Alright," he lowered his gun slightly... he still diden't trust her, but she did know the code word. That at least ment something. " I want all the prisoners taken away," he bekoned to the rest of his men. "I'm going to handle this officer personally." And, with that, they broke off, leaving the prison van, him, her, and that stubborn Dutch woman.

"I'm not quite sure what kind of Kraut you are," he spoke condicendingly to her. "But I've got to at least let you live. Of course... can you prove your loyality to the Allied cause? It would be so easy to pass yourself off as a spy nowadays... how do I know you aren't a double agent. I mean, we are out here all alone."

Eva will vouch for me! I got her brother out of Tiersenstaat.
The woman nodded, he is my contact with those officers who want to kill Hitler. She handed him a dutch occupation 20 glnder note with writing on it.

I look over the writing, eventually settling it in. "Looks legit," I finally say, tucking it into my pocket. "Alright, I want as much information about your plans as you can give me. I'll need it for my report back to command." I looked over at her... Damm, for a Kraut, she was pretty nice. Of course, that could be beacause I haven't tapped anything in a few years, but...
