the hunt for the egyptian legend

Robert Phoenix

"So what are you currently reading?"
Robert's mind gave a jolt at the question. Was she reading his thoughts?
He turned to the fire in order to hide his blush, and stammered
"Oh er...this and that, you know...treatises on Old Egyptian Mythology mainly...some of the less-known cults for example."
Robert stopped as Violet put her head against his shoulder.
It certainly did not help to untangle his currently very chaotic mind...but Robert just sat still, not daring to move or say anything, fearing that she would stop leaning on him...

I stared at the map in awe, like a little kid on Christmas.
I looked at it as though I was feasting on it. I pulled out my book and hurriedly scrambled through the pages. "THIS...THIS!" I was pointing like a mad woman, closing my book I threw my arms around his neck and kissed him, then I pulled away and smiled, kissing him again. "YOU MY MAN ARE A GENIUS!" I hugged him again, my arms still around his neck, "I thought that the tomb was below the staircase leading to the treasury. But Nephititi was linked to My Great...great...You get the picture, there tombs were built the same way, just in complete opposites. I KNOW WHERE THE SCROLLS AND HER TOMB IS! Do you know how much time you have saved us?"

Violet DeWinter

He felt oddly reassuring, "Cults? which one? I've studied a few obscure cults in my time. I left the gory ones to my comrades and choose ones that..." I trail off and blush as I was going to say that their idea of blood sacrifice was limited to hymens and menstrual cycles. That had been an interesting study of a fertility goddess. "Were more applicable to the study of present day groups. Of course one could say the violent cults would be represented by gangs and such....." I stop rambling as I feel his arm behind me finding myself snuggling into him.

(OOC: Excuse me everybody, but I was wondering if there was room for a bad guy in this adventure...not that I really want to be one, but I think the story could use one...I'll check back for a response later tongiht....Ciao for now)...

Robert

As Violet made no move to remove her head from his shoulder, Robert slowly put his arm around her waist. He told himself fervently what a fool he was--and he didn't listen.
The heat in his face grew stronger however, as Violet further questionned him about the cults, instead of dropping the subjext as he had hoped.
Of course, he could just invent a cult sounding vaguely historical but fairly uninteresting, and then steer the conversation to a differant topic.

Bad idea. My mind is tangled enough as it is, no need to mess it up by trying to remember my lies.

"Um, no, not exactly gory or bloody cults...it was mainly about a...well, a fairly harmless one, actually, or so it seems from the little that is known of it. It was, er...slightly out of the ordinary, but harmless. They, uh, worshipped Hathor--you know, the goddes of love..."

hm......

(by the way, dirk i believe your my date for the christmas party, hurry up im waiting...and ..........as for the bad guy...what do you have in mind? )

Ooc: A bad guy? Well, if this is an egyptian story, then the bad guy would be a mummy, wouldn't he? I mean, what other bad guy could there be besides the curse, lol, which we don't even know what it is yet. We could have some mauraders, but we don't have anything worth stealing yet, well besides the women that is....
Where is a rimshot when you need one?

Blore felt his cheeks go bright red, "Really, it's nothing. I thought you would like it. Consider it a birthday present."
She was so happy, he liked it when she was happy. He felt happy when she was happy, and he didn't even know why...
Ok, yes he did.
"Look over there," Blore said, pointing to the horizon. Faint rays of the sun could be seen, another hour and it would be bright enough to continue on the journey.
"We should start packing the camel's," he said, getting up.
Lava simply sat there, looking at the map and the book. She would squeal from time to time in delight. Lost in her own little world. Blore chuckled.
He packed the camel's one at a time, and spread out the leftovers in a number of directions, so if anyone came across the stuff, they wouldn't know which direction they went in. He finished putting the rest of his weapons and ammunition on the camel that would be following his. He needed that stuff close, they were getting into scavenger country. The only rule here was have a bigger gun then the other guy.
He was going to follow that rule to a T.
IT started getting brighter, most had gone to sleep (you are all going to be tired whoever stayed up... shame shame shame).
He climbed aboard his own camel, and rested softly, waiting for everyone else to be ready.

It seemed we talked all night but as the sun's early lght spilled over the dessert i found myself asleep curled up next to him. We had ventured into our backgrounds, as he seemed uncomfortable discussing his current research. something tugged at back of mind. I'd have to look through notes, if it wasn't there perhaps I could borrow the book. It would at least give us something to keep us talking on the long journey ahead.

*phft* we got some sleep so there....*chuckle*

lava

I kissed the map and squealed in delight. I put it into my hiking back pack and secured all of the strings. I made sure my sleeping bag, water, books, first aid kit, and dried food were still in there. I grinned like a little kid. I threw my backpack onto my camel I grabbed a new shirt and under garments, and my precious bar of soap and bounded towards Blore. My eyes twinkled, "I'm going to wash up. Keep an eye on everything." I knew he would, he didn't need to be told. "By the way," I said over my shoulder. "I owe you, BIG." I turned and sprinted towards the stream. Laughing like a little kid the whole time.

Robert Phoenix

Robert stretched himself, yawning in the early morning light.
Sleep had come late...but he did not regret that. His conversation with Violet had definitely been worth a little weariness.
He'd been more comfortable if Violet hadn't kept on trying to find out more about the Cult of Hathor.
He fervently hoped that he would be able to turn her interest to another, less embarassing subject...

OOC: Lava, I was thinking maybe an arch rival type, an archeologist or some type of other treasure hunter. Or what about your evil twin brother, or Politico from the Egyptian lost treasures and relics department...or yes even a band of marauders lead by an evil villian type from some place like Austria or maybe Germany...The curse will come later I am sure(as well as an evil priest...), the presentation of evil in this story could take many different faces...what about a ghost who starts to appear now and again....Drop me aline at kahz5050@hotmail and we could figure this one out...
Ciao for now

Violet DeWinter

I sorted through my notes looking for reference to the cult Robert had mentioned. I managed to find my notes on cult worship just as we began to break camp. I figured I could look at it later and made sure my camel had everything loaded on it and was ready to go. Sighing as Syke-Winter was lagging, looking as if she wanted to get more sleep

OOC where have the other characters gone?

The sun was starting to rise up over the horizon now (why does everyone make the morning go by so fast? It takes forever for the morning to be over). He arched his back, and yawned big.
"We have to go," he yelled back at Lava. He could see some clothes hung over a bush. He looked at something white.... was that he panties? He looked with great interest.
No... it was the soap, damnit.
Blore turned back, and helped everyone else out. With camp broke, and everything else ready, they waited patiently for Lava. For being an archeologist she certainly was a neat freak.
(you take that however you want it)
Blore kicked the sides of the camel, and it shot up in the air. He laughed as he grabbed the reigns and pulled back tight. He didn't mind showing off from time to time.
"Let's move out," he said. The camel's started going as he went to each one and gave their behind's a firm slap.
"What about Lava?"
"I will wait for her, get going."
The camp headed off.
What could be keeping that woman?

Robert Phoenix

Robert climbed Djed, who so far had justificated the name given to him. Robert's staff was attached to the saddle--he always liked to have it at hand while journeying.

As the others prepared to ride, Robert wondered why the book about that Cult kept on coming to his mind. It was surely the last thing he wanted think about.

Could it...had there not been some...legend...?

Dunking myself beneath the water I loved the feeling of the refreshing water pouring over my skin. I peaked my head up above the water. The sun had risen a bit. I had been gone too long. I heard someone in the bushes. The rustling of leaves. I jumped a bit. "who is there?" My clothes were so far away. My heart pounded in my chest. "what on earth?" i muttered...

(that is you blore!)

Ooc: Damn she found me.... I mean, ummm... oh shit.

"I am sorry," Blore said, standing up. The branch still had his legs jumbled together.
"You were gone for so long and..." he heard giggling. He tried not to look, but couldn't help it.
"You were worried about me?" She asked, getting out of the water. Blore ripped his pants slightly, and stood up. His cheeks turned a shade of red.
"Well, yeah. I would hate to see our only expert be prey to a maurader or something."
She was still as beautiful as ever. The water began to drip off her evenly tanned (?) skin. A shiver ran down his spine.
He handed her a towel, after a closer inspection he realized that the soap he was looking at earlier actually was her panties.
"Blore?" Her eyes were staring at him. He swallowed, and turned around. The other's were well off. Even if they left now they wouldn't be able to reach the team until late afternoon.
She stepped up right behind him, "Something wrong?"
She said that so innocently, why did she have to say it so innocently. He tried everything he could just to keep his feet steady.
"No," his voice cracked, "Umm, no I was just looking at the others."
"Yeah, they are far away, aren't they."
Blore swallowed again. He was extremely nervous, and he didn't even know why.
"We... we should get going Lava. They are waiting for us."

I nodded to Blore as he turned around and got off his camel to look for lava, i raised my hand and brought it forward as in mush look "well, lets get going then" my camel got up and we began to walk forward.

OOC:...damn short posts i do....

lava

I walked out of the water, not sure if I should, but he had seen me in all my glory before, and this trip had no room for modisty. Walking towards him, he had picked up my clothing. He had it outstretched and he was trying to keep his eyes locked on mine, no where else. I noticed his pants had ripped after his "mighty struggle" with a tree. i had to giggle, and amidst all that I lost my footing and fell forward. I felt him hook an arm around my waist and set me straight. I blushed. "um...clumsy as always. " I am ussually nimble, This was just embarassing. I grabbed my clothing from him and slipped my shirt on, then my panties and tugged on my shorts. All the while, i tried to pretend i didn't notice his straying eyes. Throwing my long hair up into an upsweep and jabbing a pin threw the middle, I put on my socks and tied up my boots. (yes I am egyptian....Dark skin...) Offering my hand so he could help me up, he muttered. "uh yeah..." and helped me up. Dusting off my bum, I told him, "My horse, you know she is fast, The camels will ride quickly as long as we aren't on them. If we go together, They will only take about an hour to reach them..."

Blore choked, he coughed twice before finally get his breathing going again.
Together?
He breathed heavily. All right, this was nothing unusual. He could do this. Come on, this wasn't kindergarden. He had to keep some compulsure.
"All right, I will grab the camels, you get your horse."
He ran off, trying to forget about the last few minutes. If only he could. Taking the reign's he led it back to the oasis.
Her horse was beautiful, if he didn't have a camel he would take a horse just like that. Blore patted it's shiny coat, and tied the reign's from the camel's to the back of the horse.
He helped Lava up, knowing she was the only person who could control this horse. He got on after her.
"You ready?" she asked helping him sit down.
There was no saddle.
Blore wrapped his arms around her middle, "Yeah, just don't drop me."
She laughed, and the horse began a steady gallop. Blore held on tight, looking back occasionally to make sure the camel's were still following them.
What a day...
And it wasn't over yet.

lava

I could tell that he was embarrased, but in my ignorance I thought nothing more of it. For some reason his arms around my middle were comforting. An old comfort. Unintentionally I shifted my body to be a bit more comfortable against his. "long ride..." I mumbled. Damn my Bloody mind, it couldn't just stay in pure thoughts of winning this conquest of my ancestor, but had to be thinking about ........no, i told myself i couldn't, wouldn't....

the jingleing of bells comes through the slight breeze that has picked up suddenly. The water begins to beat aginst the shore as though a large rock as just been thrown into the water. The smell of meir is mixed with jasmine and honeysuckle as the wind begins to pick up.

Lava and Blore look out across the water and see a sparkling form rise up out of the water. She is dressed in flimsy gold material covering her dark skin. Her long dark hair is weaving about her in the wind as if alive. Her eyes are blazing emeralds that Lava and Blore can almost feel the heat from where they stand.

She walks across the water as staedliy as if she were walking across a marble floor. Her out streched hadn is pointing towards Lava and she seems to be mouthing words, which are inaudible.

As she come sloser, Lava recognizes the face almost the same instant Blore does. It is Lava's face that looks back at Lava. As the specter comes closer to the couple, Lava is compelled to go towards her. As Blore reaches out for Lava, the specter turns to an anciet, ragged thing and her hand clasps Lava's and try to pull her beneath the surface of the water. Shrieking and wailing the ghost pulls, but to no avail as Blore reaches out abd yanks Lava back to the shore just as the ghost sinks below the water, spitting curses in a forgotten language.

Lava and Blore run from the water's edge and fall behind some rocks and Lava clings to Blore.

"My God What the Hell was that thing?" Blore asks in a shaking, breathless voice.

"I think it may have been my Great, Great, great...oh you know..Grand mother." Lava states into Blores chest as she holds him tightly to her....

I can work with this...

(call her Neph...short for the real ancient queen's name..sounds better...but sorry bout the email thing, isn't workin right...just use an ooc here. and I thought Blore and I were on the horse riding off.... someone wanna help me smooth this over...but good twist...)

Ooc: Just call me the magic worker.

Blore nodded ahead. The others had stopped to rest at another oasis. He pointed, but she gently hit him in the ribs.
"All right, I was just making sure."
They made their way over. Everyone said hello again. There was a small fire, and lunch was being cooked. (dirk, wanna help us out here?)
Blore looked at the lake, it was huge. He sighed, a small glint came from the other side. He stepped forward for a close look. What was that? He couldn't see for sure.
"Lava, take a look at this?" He said, pointing at the other side. She looked, but couldn't tell either.
"Let's take your horse. We can reach there and back before lunch is ready."
Blore got the horse, and soon they were on their way.

(insert cool plot twist here)

As soon as they were back Blore jumped off of the horse. Lunch was ready, but he didn't feel much like eating.
"Hey, what was it?"
Blore shook his head, "Just a piece of metal, nothing more."
He grabbed a water bottle, and gulped nearly half of it down. His hands were still shaking.

violet

lunch was a quiet affair and i finally looked at my notes. i blushed as i read about cult of hathor. i moved towards robert and cornered her about the cult asking him what his interest was if he had in depth descriptions of the ceremonial rites my breasts brushing against him as i talked

Robert Phoenix

Robert had just drained his cup of water as he felt Violet's breasts bursh agaibst his back, and heard her ask her question.
From the tone of her voice, Robert guessed that she had at least some kind of idea what was the main...point of interest of the Cult of Hathor...he might as well tell her.

Still, he blushed deeply as he began to stammer
"Well, erm..there were...several. Er...one of them concerned the choosing of the Mouth of Hathor. Er, the Mouth of Hathor was, sort of, one of the Head Priestesses of the Cult. At certain accasion, she would take some kind of potion and fall into a trance, and then, so the legend goes, Hathor would speak through her...the Mouth's words during the trance would be taken as the will of the goddess. Now...a new Mouth of Hathor was chosen every year. You can imagine that this position was quite an honour, and that every priestess of the Cult wished to be the one whom a council of five male priest would choose as the new Mouth of Hathor."
Violet moved slightly closer. "And...how did these male priests choose the new Mouth?"
The heat in Robert' face gew stronger.
"Er...ermm...uh, well, their reasoning was that the new priestess must have a...a skilled mouth...and tongue. So she would be able to pass on the goddess' words without fault. And in order to decide who was most skilled with mouth and tongue...er...."
"They had the candidate priestesses hold a speech?"
"Er...no. After all, the forming of the words would be made by Hathor herself. To find out who was most skilled with mouth and tongue they...they made the candidate priestesses...that it, the priestesses had to...uh.......show everyone of the five priests their skills by...giving them a blowjob" he finished, his face burning bright red now.
Robert stared into his empty cup, very careful not to look around.

ooc:
I apologize for the long post...I had a creative attack you mght say ;)
