So, the characters live on Mars, see, and their year is about 1.88 times as long as an Earth year, so while they'd be 19 here, everyone at Utopia Planitia says that they're 10 years old, but I don't want to include an author's note to explain temporal conversion factors, and everyone on Mars knows that it's totally legal for ten-year-old folks to be fucking each other on their planet, so of course they won't remark about it; that would be clumsy narration, right, so it's gotta be more artful to just assume all readers will understand that I'm not describing prepubescent kids, even though the characters are sexually naive, petite, and bald in the pubes?
