The "ignore" feature

I don't get it, I can ignore just fine by myself.

I'd ask if anyone's ignoring me, but they wouldn't see it anyway.

Anybody else here not using this?

I've only used the ignore feature a for few week's when it first came online, now I just use my own common sense, I find it easy to decide who to ignore and who to listen to.

Have you ever seen some of the crap I spew? Why wouldn't I ignore it.

I'd only use it if someone were harassing me to death and I didn't want merely to quit the place, though I could see blacking out KidRock, as that thread really was a waste.

And c'mon, Todd's getting more interesting since everyone yelled at him. I think he's trying to communicate better, except for the proofreading. I've definitely enjoyed some of his posts (and that's not because he did me a kindness).

I don't use it. I tried it once just out of curiousity and lost half the threads.

I do, however, love the "deny receipt" feature on the PMs.

Likewise - self restraint works just fine for me. I have quite an efficient asshole filter - works most all the time... occaisionally needs a tune up... but no - don't need any "ignore" feature other than the one in my brain.

Use ignore? Never. I have a hard time registering myself now, (hence Unregistered/Shelby) let alone figure out how to ignore anyone. And I don't want to anyway. I scroll down threads. Simple.

Come on now, I can't be the ONLY one here to use the wonderful feature of being able to ignore the idiots, am I?

Sure, I could ignore them using will power. Kind of like not looking at that car wreck as you drive by. But, I could also do my dishes manually. I use an automatic dishwasher as a tool to make my life easier. I see the ignore function as being the same. A useful tool.

I use it. I only have one person on ignore at the moment though.

Why?
Because these people don't enrich my time at Lit. and I'm not a model for self-discipline. The people on this board can make me happy, they can also make me frustrated and angry. If it couldn't do either I wouldn't spend as much time as I do here.

Besides, it's satisfying to make people that bug you disappear for a month at a time... Now if only there were an ignore function in real life.

I have two people on it right now. I had never used it but have since found it to be really time saving. I don't have to scroll past forty threads on excrement now to get to ones I would like to read. Great feature and I plan on using it for a while.
