The Isolated Blurt BDSM Thread

Now that I have a car, I'm getting petrol once a fortnight, doing groceries once a fortnight etc.

But, because I'm *so* used to spending money every day, or every other day, it feels strange to not be spending money. I have no reason to, but still have the compulsion.

It's a habit I need to break.

Last night the local drag court had one of their pageants and some of my friends were working it. It was kid friendly and at a local pizza parlor so I took the monsters. Twitch thought it was the Coolest. Thing. EVER! to see a drag show. And it took about three minutes of watching the sparkly, formal evening dresses for bug to start asking if we got to play dress up too, when we get to play dress up, why couldn't we play dress up and pretend to sing...

So come to find out that there's another kid friendly show in a couple of months. That the girls have decided they want to preform in.

ROFLMAO - Twitch is just as excited about "playing dress up" - wig and all - as bug. Now all I have to do is explain it to the powers that be.

Hey, at least if they're spending the time and energy planning a lip sync performance with sparkly makeup and even more sparkly dresses at a family friendly event it's less time to be getting into trouble. And it's a non-profit thing where they'd be helping to raise money for charities like the local domestic violence shelter and the humane society. Things could be worse, right?

You lead an interesting life, chy.

Yes, yes I do. You have no idea how much I do.

But on the bright side, Twitch totally found a hobby! And the drag queens are a wonderfully supportive bunch who tend to practice tolerance. I have trustworthy friends who could be helpful in such pursuits. And the total bonus: Any the cute little gay boys (bois?) that are around for her to swoon over... they're gay!

What part of that should I not be happy with?
;)
Christ! Can't I just be my own Dom?
If you come up with any good tricks for self-topping will you share?
:rose:

I think this is the start of a bois-tiful friendship.

I want to find a poetry-writing class. It's something I've wanted to do for years.

I have some natural affinity for words, and metaphor, and I'm pleased with most of the poems I post here. But I need some instruction, some feedback and structure.

Way, way to early and not enough coffee.
You're the first one I'd call, chy! :rose:

(Ya' know, there may be a way to make money off of this....I'm just sayin'!)
Thank you dear. And if I figure it out before you I shall return the favor... LOL - Honestly, I'd just be happy with a good at-home beating.

My blurt:
...My blurt is that I'm so tired that by the time I got done responding to DGE and gypsy I'd forgotten what I wanted to say. But it had something to do with texting about the difference between mechanphilia and autophilia at 7 am...
*shrugs*
It was funny though.

Save your money for now. Find a local writing group to join - some will be strictly prose but many will also have poetry. You'll get feedback and advice from the members and if there is a class worth taking chances are they'll be able to point you in the right direction.

Also, if there are any slam poetry events in your area, check them out. I have a suspicion that you might enjoy that form of poetry.

Is there a university around you that offers the choice to audit classes? If so, look for a creative writing class to sit in on. I think my school only charges, like, $25 to audit.

Well, I am still afraid of needles but I was a very brave girl for the annual blood test today and so rewarded myself...with a donut! Egads!

Of course, it helps when the person wielding the needle is a tall, dark, handsome Aussie bloke.

Think so? Okay. I'll poke around. I will look for slam poetry too. I have a performing yen, as well.

And, good god, check out the av: you were ALWAYS peppy and cute, weren't you? You'll be the peppy-and-cute 110 year old.

Good idea. I looked and found creative writing courses, but I've had a couple, and REALLY want to write poetry.

I'll just bet it was, chy. I'm laughing on the inside. ;)

Yep, I figured as much. If you like to perform, you'll totally groove on slam.

This is the dude who performed the slam poem for the winter Olympics (which I boycotted, yes, but still...). We are more.

ETA: Slam poems vary widely in style and content - this is just an example I had at hand.

I know. Annoying as hell, ain't it? :D

BTW, I couldn't play that thing at all. Didn't stop me though.

My university offered several different creative writing courses, and one of them focused only on poetry. No clue how other places do it, though.

This has to have been one of the hardest 59 day stretches of my entire life. But I made it to 90. And 90 is good.
