Background: my computer is running like crap cause I can't run scans. Why? Because someone keeps logging me out when I'm mid scan so they never flipping finish. I managed to run AVG this morning, by staying in the room that my computer is, but while I was degraging, I had to run into town and my computer magically logged itself off again!

The problem: is it possible to fix it so someone has to put in a password to log me out? Obviously, I can fix it so that no one can use my computer, but I hate to punish the people who aren't rude.

Not really a techie-answer, but you could try leaving a post it note that says "Computer scanning, please do not log out"?

For a techie-kinda-answer, is your computer possibly set to go into a sleep mode after an X amount of time? If so, that could be part of that problem.

If you have your own account on the system, pw protect it and then swich users so that it's back at the login screen. Your account will still have the program running the background, or at least should. As the person before me said, your computer could be going into sleep mode as well, but I haven't seen that typically kill a AV scan...drop me a PM and we can go over it thus letting the others back to the point of the thread
