I really do love him. But he has to let me breathe.
And he needs to get that CPAP breathing machine of his fixed. It shouts all night long.

This article on old dogs made me smile and tear at the same time. As a child, my family didn't care for their animals very well, so I've never experienced the bittersweetness of having a dog pass after sharing a full life with me. It is, oddly, something I look forward to. Not the death itself, but the chance to have that life together. As I type this, that chance is snoozing on the couch, with her head hanging slightly off the end, flicking an ear every little bit because the breeze coming in through the open front screen is tickling it.

Sometimes life is much better to you than you ever deserve it to be.

New fulltime job started last week. Additional work tutoring. Painting to commission is now better paid than my paid employment. Now, to develop more repeat customers.

Nightmares, temper tantrums, throwing paddys, whole body trembling. Fuck I hate the count down to getting on a plane.

I has teh sick. :( My throat is scratchy and my lungs feel all fuzzy. Unpleasant :[

I PM'd this solution to you,in case you missed the thread.
I have a remedy you might like to try for your scratchy throat and icky lungs. My background is in organic chemistry and this solution actually works my kids even pretend to get sick to have it because it also tastes nice.
into a saucepan place:
three cups of water.
two tea bags or 3 teaspoons of looseleaf tea (Common black tea)(it dilatesbronchial tubes)
2 teaspoons of dried mint (it is a febrifuge, brings down temperature)
2 teaspoons of dried sage (it soothes the lungs)
2 teaspoons of dried thyme (it clears the sinuses)
two pinches of powdered ginger or one small piece of ginger root (it boosts your adrenaline and gets rid of achy nasty feelings)
two drops of oil of cloves or one whole clove (it's a local anaesthetic and it numbs your throat)
two pinches of cinnamon and nutmeg (it speeds up your bodies ability to get rid of congestion)
two tablespoons honey (flavour and energy)
two tablespoons of lemon juice (boosts your vitamin C and that helps your immune system)
bring the mixture to the boil and allow to stand for 10 minutes, strain it into a container and heat half a cup twice daily in the microwave to sip on. It may sound strange but it really is yummy and it does work.and most people have all of the ingredients in the kitchen cupboard.

I already said thank you in PM, but I'll say it again! Thanks! I don't suppose you have anything to get rid of that obnoxious itchy sensation in my pharynx, do you? :p

the oil of cloves or whole cloves create a fume that treats the entire area to a mild numbing that helps with itch.the tea also helps as it dilates blood vessels as well as bronchial tubes.and that itching is usually because blood isn't moving smoothly through the area and it gets inflamed.

Most excellent. It is preparing as we speak. I added a couple other things that work well for me. Will probably screw the flavor to hell, but meh. I'll live :p

Booze usually does screw with the flavor but the upside is, with a nice buzz you usually don't care. LOL

what are you adding

I added turmeric and a tiny bit of red pepper flakes and white peppercorns (gave them a quick tap with the mortar before adding them). I find the heat does a lot for me, even in small doses, and turmeric is just awesome. And I'm taking it with cider vinegar and honey for my allergies anyway.

cfuhrer, I'm not atm, but i've used booze to whack my sinuses in the face before. Best time was when I was at a sushi bar. I ate a bit of wasabi and then shot back some hot sake. PHOO! That felt crazy/good!

When my bug was at it's worse I went to bed every night with a hot whiskey and honey. Felt good, and slept like a rock.

Pepsi is awesome for an itchy throat/ears. It's because of the carbonation and the salt.

Me too. Hubby says the syrup clogs his throat when he's sick. But when I have a cold, buy stock cuz it goin' up! Lol

I've always been a fine of peppermint and honey in white liquor--and by that, I don't mean alcohol you can buy over the counter. I'm not sure if it makes you feel better or if you just don't give a damn how you feel when you finish it. :p

Me, too. I don't like pop - unless I'm sick. If I'm sick, I drink it like it's going out of style, cause it takes care of the itchy's.
