I know I'm not giving them the credit they deserve.
But.
I really don't feel like I'm getting as much out of my employment there as they are getting from me.
I was in 15 minutes early and then stayed an hour and a half late working with the alarm company, missed getting to see my baby tonight and when I called to update my boss she sounded put out to be talking to me. And I didn't get thanked.
I'm sorry but I can't help but think that a simple "thanks" as you hang up isn't too much to ask.
I can't remember the exact personality type but I hold part of my identity through my work; disregard or criticize my work and you disregard or criticize me. I don't like being that way and I'm working on changing it, but its so damned hard.

It's a raw fact of life, but if your employer does not get more out of you than you're being paid, then you are a poor investment for them. That said, what you're describing sounds like going above and beyond the call of duty, particularly if you're an hourly employee.

People who do not thank others for taking initiative or taking on added responsibilities because it's the right thing to do at the time are not just poor managers. They're dickwads.

You are not paranoid about this. First meetings in public is a very reasonable rule to follow. If you're really turned on by each other and feel safe, there's always an open hotel room somewhere.

My little sister has a turtle named Bowser. I spent a couple of hours designing a background for his terrarium, and now the little guy grooves around with Thwomp blocks and Koopa Troopas. It's actually pretty awesome.

I just cleaned out my frogs terrarium, and am considering putting a background. Since they're pacific tree frogs, everything I got them came from my yard, except their pond. I bought that. Either way, it looks really nice, and they're very content.

I was told that PTF's couldn't survive captivity, so when we got them I watched to make sure they were eating. We've had them two years now. I think they survive fine if you're careful to make their area like it would be in the wild, and make sure they have plenty of area.

Although, I'd like to get them a bigger terrarium, so they could have a bigger pond.

I wish I would have been wearing shoes at the time, pretty or not! As bruised and swollen as it still is today, I will probably not be wearing shoes much at all for a while. I can't even comfortably put on my fluffy soft Uggs or socks and my toe being cold is not really helping. Grumble.

If the battery landed squarely (or pointedly) directly on the bone, and it's swelling badly and *very* sensitive, there's a fairly good chance the toe is broken. Unfortunately, there's not much a doctor can do to help, other than to "set" the fracture if the ends of the break are misaligned, then tape that toe to the one next to it.

If it's still badly swollen in another day or so, you should go to see a doc (like tomorrow!), though, because that likely means it *is* broken *and* misaligned (which would cause greater swelling than a simple fracture). Not getting it properly set would almost certainly result in problems down the road, like the toe being mis-shapen, suffering from arthritis-like pains, and possibly re-breaking at just about any trauma.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad tidings, but it would be a disaster if you had to wear orthopedic shoes instead of pretty ones for the rest of your life!

I can't say the pain is that bad as tylenol has made it easer to walk around. I am embracing that as a good sign. I would be really surprised if it actually broke because it would have had to have hit it JUST right and I am going to trust that I am just not THAT lucky this week. I will definitely consider the doc if its not improved soon.

That's awesome. Unfortunately, my Bowser is a background-deprived and has no Koopa Troopas to serve his bidding. Which is probably for the best. He doesn't even get Princess Peach, since my rabbit named Peach is a bonded pair with my rabbit Yoshi.
