Washington, DC metro area! My husband was just flipping through the channels and came across that... I wish I could find it online somewhere, so I could watch the entire thing and find out if it actually had a point. A search of "Pat Robertson Ethiopian Lesbian" didn't turn up any hits on YouTube though. :p
This wasn't Fairfax County Public Access Channel 10, was it? There's a guy on that channel who is amazingly crazy, sometimes he acts like a normal public access host (amateur but harmless) and sometimes he wears a bandanna or a bag over his head and spouts racist rantings. It wouldn't surprise me if he said stuff like that! (This channel is also the home of "Telepathic TV"...)

I hate it when you see something you want to keep track of and go back to later, then lose it and can't find it again... grrrrr

Rox.

I still can't believe we're really going :nana: :nana: :nana:

THAT will be an incredible Holiday gift, thank you BOTH

I have most decidedly fallen head over heals for Barak Obama!

(Of course, it could be the bronchitis talking, but I really don't think so  )

I'm torn between Hillary and Obama. I like Hillary's politics, but I think she's too controversial to win. Obama, on the other hand, is a real rising star and I think that if he wins the party nomination (I'm a registered Democrat) he might have a shot at the presidency. And I love that the two strongest candidates (sorry, Mr. Kucinich) are a woman and a person of color!

I love the idea of this contest between a woman and person of color, also. And I think both would have a chance of winning! I am re-registering Dem (from Green), so that I can vote in the primaries. (BTW, campaigned for Kucinich last time around - not because I thought he might win but because I was hoping that if he got enough support, he could influence the debate in the Democratic party.)

My dream ticket!

Hilary for Prez and Obama for VP. :D :D :D

(or vice versa, but I can't see Hilary being willing to take "second billing")

Society is hypocritical in that on the one hand it sees BDSM as perverse but on the other it allows it to be shown in films and be featured in computer games such as GTA San Andreas. Am I missing something?

In the GTA series people shoot cops and steal cars... I wouldn't use that as a morality baromoter.

I liked Kucinich as well.

Not overly fond of Hillary, but I wpould love to see Barrack make a good run.

In fairness, I think we all need a copy of the protocol and diplomacy handbook .... some of us don't read minds well.

p.s. as to crush - not Hilary, he he he he he he! oh, and my primary asked me how I thought we'd do living together last night. OK, second post about this, please forgive the mini-spamming but I'm bowled over. have never mentioned it although have been thinking about it lately, so this was completely out of the blue... especially since he swore he'd never live with anyone again after his marriage ended and then didn't move in with his last ex for the 5 years they were together... Too soon yet, but, but but!!!

 :nana: :D :nana:

My throat hurts :( It sucks being sick at Christmas

Hi Eb....a suggestion for aching joints - see if you can find emu oil based gels/creams. They work great for Master Gil's arthritis :)

Obama Bin Laden might be president one day. 8, or 12, 16 years down the road. Right now he's a political lightweight who is the darling of the liberal press. Not much else.

He could probably be Hillary's running mate, but that doesn't make political sense to me. But it might force Condi Rice into the VP spot as well, guaranteeing a black VP in 2008.

When starting up a conversation with the woman next to you in the bank line, it is not really helpful to do the following:

Idiot Person: "Do you have Christmas plans?

Me: "Yep; going to visit my children."

Idiot Person: "Wow- you don't look like a mother! How many kids?"

Me: "They're 12, 10, 7, 4½, and 2½."

Idiot Person: "YOU have 5 kids?"

Me: "Yes."

Idiot Person: "And they don't live with you?"

Me: "They live with their father and his girlfriend out of state." (as I wish the line would move faster)

Idiot Person: "But you their MAMA! Don't those babies miss their Mama?" (look of shock and horror)

Me: "Honestly, missing each other isn't nearly as important as doing what is in their best interest. Living with their Father is in their best interest."

Idiot Person: "You don't even MISS THEM?"

*cue my intense desire to pummel the idiot, and thankful realization that a teller is free*

Sigh. I get it, okay? Trust me- I am reminded quite often that for some reason it would be more socially acceptable if I were a single welfare mom of 5, struggling to keep food on the table, working at a low paying job, with my children enrolled in what is frankly one of the most appaling ISDs I've ever seen. I understand. Really. If I were a good enough mom, I'd have ignored that their dad makes several times more than I, his girlfriend (who also has a job) lives with them- creating a two parent household, and that they live in a much much MUCH better area (narry a homeless wino to be seen) with an outstanding school system, and I'd have been a *real mom* and selfishly retained primary custody... because all those practical issues that will help them succeed in life mean jack shit next to their mother tucking them in bed at night, right?

GAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!

It's snowing!!! Finally. Hopefully there will be snow for Christmas. It was so nice to see the snow falling while wrapping presents today. :)

On a side note, i spent WAY too much on Chrismtas gifts. When did Christmas become so commercialized?

I get it Cutie...That's real love; putting their best interests far and above your own need to be with them. Hope you enjoy your time with them :rose:
