i hate going from a complete high where i couldn't get any happier to a complete low where i just want to crawl into a ball and die. That's where i am now. i want to go to a dark quiet place and sleep for a long time. Forget about work, i failed my class, what is the point?...don't worry this feeling will go away after a while. i'm not going anywhere as much as i wish i could. Too many people care about me.

I just gave somebody the smackdown over in GLBT Chatter. AHAHAHAHA. I WIN.

Hi Eb....a suggestion for aching joints - see if you can find emu oil based gels/creams. They work great for Master Gil's arthritis :)

I used to have some of that blue stuff, and it had emu oil in it. I remember it worked great, thanks!

Obama Bin Laden might be president one day. 8, or 12, 16 years down the road. Right now he's a political lightweight who is the darling of the liberal press. Not much else.

He could probably be Hillary's running mate, but that doesn't make political sense to me. But it might force Condi Rice into the VP spot as well, guaranteeing a black VP in 2008.

Such reasoned debate!

Actually, sans the "Bin Laden" bit, a rather interesting view point. In any case, I do see him as more, having spent one morning listening to him speak twice in New Hampshire. He is reasoned, willing to reach out to others who disagree with him and work to find common ground.

You are right, he has less political experience which I also see as a draw back - doesn't lessen my respect or like for him. I hope beyond hope that the Dems don't nominate Hilary. In case you haven't guessed, I am progressive.

;) Neon

P.S., Question the idea that there is truly any "liberal" press in this country. However, all of this is beginning to sound like a conversation for the AH.

But there are so many people who have such a strong and very unreasoned negative reation to her - I don't see her being able to win the Presidency. Especially against McCain. In addition, a lot of strong progressives don't trust her due to her pro-war stance. Obama, on the other hand, has a great deal of charisma...

Ah well, we'll see.

When starting up a conversation with the woman next to you in the bank line, it is not really helpful to do the following:

Idiot Person: "Do you have Christmas plans?

Me: "Yep; going to visit my children."

Idiot Person: "Wow- you don't look like a mother! How many kids?"

Me: "They're 12, 10, 7, 4½, and 2½."

Idiot Person: "YOU have 5 kids?"

Me: "Yes."

Idiot Person: "And they don't live with you?"

Me: "They live with their father and his girlfriend out of state." (as I wish the line would move faster)

Idiot Person: "But you their MAMA! Don't those babies miss their Mama?" (look of shock and horror)

Me: "Honestly, missing each other isn't nearly as important as doing what is in their best interest. Living with their Father is in their best interest."

Idiot Person: "You don't even MISS THEM?"

*cue my intense desire to pummel the idiot, and thankful realization that a teller is free*

Sigh. I get it, okay? Trust me- I am reminded quite often that for some reason it would be more socially acceptable if I were a single welfare mom of 5, struggling to keep food on the table, working at a low paying job, with my children enrolled in what is frankly one of the most appaling ISDs I've ever seen. I understand. Really. If I were a good enough mom, I'd have ignored that their dad makes several times more than I, his girlfriend (who also has a job) lives with them- creating a two parent household, and that they live in a much much MUCH better area (narry a homeless wino to be seen) with an outstanding school system, and I'd have been a *real mom* and selfishly retained primary custody... because all those practical issues that will help them succeed in life mean jack shit next to their mother tucking them in bed at night, right?

GAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!

Cutie :rose: *hug*
When I left my husband my daughter was 14. She chose to stay with her father on the farm. The number of looks I got from people who just assumed she would be going with me - even her school, that had been told several times that she was in her dad's custody, got things wrong  I could see her whenever I wanted, but I missed her heaps (and still do, she is back in NZ now getting ready to go to university, her course lasts two years and I don't know when I'll see her again.)

She would have missed her pets and the farm....she loves the farming life. I was and am only a text message or a phone call away if she needs me. If it's an emergency I can hop on a plane. She was almost 16 when I came to Australia to live with Master Gil.

I'm sure I was thought of as a terrible mother for "abandoning" my child. Did these people ever stop to think that it was her choice, and she was happy where she was? Would it have been better for her to have a mother with low self esteem and who was suffering from depression.....or one who was happy and gaining confidence after being smothered for years.

Good on you cutiemouse :rose:

Thank you Subtleone and Bandit (and those who PMd). :rose:

I just let an idiot get to me- which I normally don't do.

The kids are happy and thriving, I got a chance to attempt a fresh start in Life, and their dad (and his girlfriend) really stepped up to the plate- for which I'm very thankful. Everyone is better off than they were when their dad and I were still together 3 years ago, so I know it was the right thing to do... I just wish I could figure out a way to acknowledge the kids/my past Life (in passing chit chat with strangers), acknowledge my current position in life (supermom no more), and not get judged for it.

Cutie, I am sorry for not weighing in earlier - just read through your whole conversation. I think you are an incredible woman and your children are very blessed that you love them so much as to have only their best interest at heart. I cannot imagine the tremendous courage and fortitude it took to do what you did.

(And that woman is an utter idiot, not to mention a rude boor to boot!)

 :rose:  Neon

I am so sick (no pun intended) of this virus I have had since before Christmas. Not only have I been totally drained of energy, but after not throwing up for a week I woke up this morning, feeling tired but fine, then swiftly proceeded to throw up without warning for 10 minutes. I am told by others who have had it that it lasts around 4-5 weeks....and now I feel guilty as I have given it to my sister in law who already has a lot on her plate and is trying to keep going. Oh well, at least I can offer practical help at the moment as she is trying to move and set up a whole new life. LOL, I am thinking as we are both Gemini's and seem to like each other wel enough, her moving into our neighbourhood could make for some fun times and lots of giggles. She does say I am evil!! :D

My sympathies catalina :rose: Hope it's not as bad as they say.

I have had tonsillitis for 2 weeks - the first lot of antibiotics didn't work so had to go back for a different script and by then I was feeling worse than when I went the first time  I'm better now but still have about a week's worth of pills to take. I lost 700g without even trying - couldn't go to the gym cos I was feeling so crap.

I was told there's a lot of bad throats going around, and the weather's not helping - one day it's hot (late 20sC) the next it's cool (I won't say cold cos to me it isn't compared to NZ!). This time last year we had 30C+, and New Year's Day was over 40C  so at least I'm not melting :D

This week I had some interesting insight given to me by someone I was IMing with. I didn't relize this but I am a gay male sub. Who would have thought that becuase even I didn't. People that have know me for about six months know more about me then I do. :D Really I thought I was a bi curious switch, but the hell do I know.

LOL, it does seem it takes a little time for this to hit home for some...think it might be some of that preconditioning we are raised with which tends to blind us to the obvious at times. :rose:

Yeah, I have been reading and hearing about the weird temps in Oz. LOL, I keep telling myself this virus is worth it for the rapid weight loss I should be seeing...so far I haven't noticed it though. Hope you continue to improve and enjoy newlly wedded bliss with that special man of yours. :rose:

No No No Catalina, I am willing to say what I am as I know myself presently. It just bugs me that others think this without even asking me just because I most regular playmate is male.

cutie, i know where you are coming from here. my son lives with his father..not because i'm unfit or because i don't care about him, but because i DO care about him and it's where he wanted to be. i fought it for a long time after my divorce because i thought wow, what kind of mom would i be if i gave up my 'custody' well the answer to that is a better mom than if i were to keep him from where he really wanted to be, finally i went back to court and modified custody. we have joint custody with him having our son during the school year, and me having Him during the summer. i can see him whenver i want because we have a good 'relationship' and all i have to do is call and say i want him or i'm coming to get him. though i do not live another state away from him, i do understand what you're saying.

Ah, well that is not an automatic sign someone is gay, though most think it is. Many tend to look sideways at us to when we say we play with male subs and they ask if we mean I play with male subs and we say we both do....it is like they cannot see how F can be straight and Domianant if he is willing to include male subs in our play and horror of all horrors, actually touch them in a scene and tie them up in various ways. LOL, they don't know what they are missing!!

Awesome Leeroy :) I thought I was a bi curious switch for a while too

I too have been exploring with a local BDSM group.
Some had me pegged as a Domme.
Others had me pegged as a "Top".
A few had thought I was a Sub, but NOT a slave.
after many conversations, questions & munches we have arrived that right now I seem to be a "Bottom"
A very choosy selective "Bottom" as I am picky about whom I "play" with.
We came to this due to the fact everyone seems to ask "what are you?" & I honestly couldn't answer objectively, which sparked the interest in figuring it out, as much as I hate labelling or titles in this group it is quite normal that way there are no miscommunications about how different people "play".
one of the Dommes seem to have taken a shining to me & almost seem to be preening me to be a Domme... LMAOOO
I also learned in this bunch that I seem to prefer pinwheels & other "edge play" in comparison to the sudden sensations of a flogger, whip, cane or crop.

Have fun Leeroy & play safe :)

Exactly, if didn't play with him my current AV and all the others I have had lately would not have happened. I would play more with the woman of the club but they don't come every week and I really hate to just sit and watch. I'm an equal opportunity bottom I will play with anyone once beyond that??

A great many people do not make the distinction between gay activities and gay people. They really are two separate things. If people of the same gender are having sex, well, then it's gay sex. Even if they're both straight (DL anyone?), it's gay sex. If someone who is gay has sex with the opposite gender, well, it's straight sex. This is why men who enjoy getting fucked up the ass are not necessarily gay - if it's a woman doing it to them, it's not gay sex, you know? Sexual orientation and sexual activity are separate from each other...they often go together, but not always.

I understand Etoile, but what annoyed me is that these people are seeing me play to reach their conclution. But instead of just asking me they make the assumption that I must be gay because I am playing with a guy.

Oh, no, I do understand that. I was just riffing on it.
