Don't make me start writing anonymous letters to the Mean Mommie Club. But if Netz is doing the spanking...

So now we've gone from making a trip to tattle to sending letters? Chicken.

Say, how did you know the state of her wardrobe anyway? Have you been doing that webcam in the dressing room again?

It's under your mothers chair. Good luck getting it.

If you don't lose your job, there is something seriously wrong.

Your patient was outside in the pouring rain for, by your own admission 45 minutes (that means to me, at least an hour), she was flat on her face in the gravel. She had a temp of 94 something when you finally found her and a huge hematoma on her forehead. She was found soaking wet, face down in pouring rain with an outside temperature of maybe 50 degrees. And you were relieved when they got her temp up to 95.4.

God knows how long she'd been outside before you even discovered she was missing.

You're a lazy, lying, uncaring nurse. When you told me last night that you thought you'd just go get a job at the local casino cleaning toliets because "there's no responsiblitiy in that", I couldn't agree with you more. That's exactly the kind of job you should have.

You should not only lose your job, but your license to practice... ANYWHERE... ever again! And if something doesn't happen over this, I will be on someone's desk pounding my fist next week.

Count on it.

Well mostly, all I've been thinking about is meeting shy tomorrow. But this other thing has me soooo wound up.

How in the hell can this ever be explained to loved ones? How do you explain to the family that their loved one (who suffers from Alzheimer's) was missing and outside in the gravel and on her face in the pouring rain for over 45 minutes? The family has to be notified regarding every single incident, right down to a change in medication. Falls of any kind are serious and the family is notified immediately.

The most amazing thing about this is that she had 4, count 'em 4, falls on her hall last night. This one was just the most serious and most grievous.

There's something really, really wrong with this picture.

Sounds like it...perhaps the positive/reason in this is its happening might make something happen in terms of dealing with her incompetency.

I fear Alzheimers worse than death. It's odd to say, but I'm thankful that my family history is death by cancer, catastrophic heart failure, or, commonly, mishap.

I hope so. I was told a month ago that she was on shaky ground regarding her job because she wasn't charting. If this doesn't tip the scale, nothing will.

My God... this poor woman... wet, cold, with a goose-egg on her head, out in the dark and cold for over 45 minutes... sigh. This is why people sue nursing homes and justly so.

I'm embarrassed to call her a colleague.

So do I. And one of the biggest reasons for me, is that so many of those who care for Alzheimer patients are incompetent and ignorant of the disease process. That's why you end up with patients flat on their faces and out in the rain for 45 minutes.

No fucking excuse for this. None. Her license should be pulled.

It isn't pleasant...I was reading earleir this evening this story from Oz which says they think they may have made a breakthrough which will allow the reversal of Alzheimer's.

Catalina :catroar:

Oh ADR, I'm horrified to hear that story. I hope the woman will be okay.

Fuck Dreamhost/Gmail with a rusty saw. Great praise for the guy who offered a workaround. But still, I have 2-3 days of email that I may get SLOWLY or may in fact never get. Yarrrrgh.

Oh hey, I just got notification that this thread had been posted to since I last looked at it! Of course, that notification was sent three and a half hours ago.

I hate this feeling. I don't know what to do with it.

Maybe I'll take it to the beach

Gmail is generally Johnny On The spot for me. I tend to get thread update notifications very quickly.

Yeah, this is kind of an odd problem. Here's the breakdown.
1) My domain name is hosted by Dreamhost, but I have all mail sent to my Gmail account. LOTS of people do this.
2) Everything that goes to a forwarded Dreamhost account goes through to Gmail, including spam. If somebody clicks "this is spam" on one of these messages in Gmail, Gmail assumes it was the Dreamhost server that sent the spam.
3) Gmail sees a lot of spam from Dreamhosts, so it greylists their servers. This basically means that messages get through at about 2% of their normal speed.
4) Bunches of Dreamhost customers get mad, mayhem ensues.

That's a bit special.
