The Isolated Politics Blurt Thread I: A New Beginning

Lorraine Pellegrino, one of 11 Arizona Republicans who falsely posed as Trump’s electors that year, accepted a guilty plea to a single charge for filing a “false instrument” — the fraudulent Electoral College certificate. The state charge was one of several she faced for allegedly joining in a conspiracy to corrupt Arizona’s election results.
she's gonna get 3 years probation and the other charges of forgery and conspiracy dropped and
Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes charged the 11 fake electors, as well as several top Trump allies, in a broad indictment in April. Trump himself was not charged in the Arizona case, but he was identified by a state grand jury as an unindicted coconspirator. Trump was also charged federally and in Georgia with felonies arising from his fake elector scheme and other efforts to overturn President Joe Biden’s victory.

Pellegrino’s plea deal is the second victory in the Arizona case in as many days for Mayes, a Democrat. Another one of the 18 defendants, former Trump campaign attorney Jenna Ellis, began cooperating with prosecutors this week in exchange for a deal to dismiss the charges she faced. Ellis similarly cooperated with prosecutors last year in the Georgia case.

Congressman said he went to Vanderbilt and Dartmouth.
He actually attended Middle Tennessee State University.
He took non-degree online courses at Vandy and Dartmouth during COVID.

Campaign was "self-funded", but he later admitted he actually did NOT loan his campaign 320K....looking like that came from the Club For Growth (aka Billionaires Slush Fund)

Andy Ogles got voted into congress by a "perfect storm".

His opponents were a former Tennessee Speaker of the House, who was the "establishment" pick but highly polarizing, some nationally known looney tunes influencer wingnut (who was endorsed by Kari Lake and MTG) who got disqualified because he never actually lived in Tennessee, and some no-name oddball who picked up a last minute endorsement from convicted felon Donald J Trump, since no-name was the only MAGA left in the race.

Ogles was a likeable city mayor who was supposed to be the "normal" Republican (since he was from Tennessee, he had to make the claim that the 2020 election was stolen, like every other Republican candidate)

He got maximum legal (and now it appears illegal) campaign funding from the Billionaire Boys "Club For Growth", solely on his solemn pledge to "privatize" Social Security and do away with Medicare entirely.
