The Isolated Politics Blurt Thread I: A New Beginning

 I believe this country can be the bellwether for democracy but instead has exported hatred and lies as virtues which have led to a sudden rise in far right politicians in places where they would have been ignored and marginalized before. I will include into my readings on learning more on Pierre Poilievre.
I agree. The far right is getting a foot hold here and they will most likely succeed.
As to Poilievre, he's a turd. He's a climate denier, did not admonish party members for openly supporting a German pro Nazi fascist, he tagged his social media with MGTOW (men go their own way)an acronym for a misogynistic group, he wanted to dismantle the Bank of Canada and replace it with bitcoin... and that's a small sample of why he's a shitty person. He's ahead in the polls by quite a comfortable margin. Best we can hope for if he's elected is a minority gov't. Nothing really gets done in parliament with a minority gov't because they don't have the votes to pass bills.

Wow…what a rousing golf clap of applause between the boos. Plus, there were a lot of people that stayed seated and weren’t clapping after Orange Fuhrer remembered that he was finished.

Also, WTFingF—it was a WHITE TIE event and the orange turd shows up in a black tie! I could only make out one other person on that dais that wasn’t wearing a white tie. What a dooshbag. 🙄

Mail carriers reach tentative contract with USPS

Some 200,000 mail carriers have reached a tentative contract deal with the U.S. Postal Service that includes backdated pay raises and a promise to provide workers with air-conditioned trucks.

The new agreement, which still needs to be ratified by union members, runs through Nov. 2026. Letter deliverers have been working without a contract since May 2023.

Boeing, Union Reach Wage Deal to End Strike

Boeing and the leaders of its machinists union have reached a tentative deal that could end a damaging strike that has halted most of its production.

The company is offering a 35% wage increase over four years in its latest proposal. That is up from its original offer of 25% that was overwhelmingly rejected by a union local representing machinists in the Pacific Northwest that build most of Boeing’s jets.

'You’d lose so many people': Construction industry rails against Trump’s deportation agenda

According to NBC News, homebuilders in particular are coming out against the ex-president's call to deport millions of immigrants. this includes builders in Republican-dominated states like Florida and Texas. Construction business leaders are worried that an already shallow labor pool could dry up even further if Trump followed through on his signature campaign initiative.

except he gets away with that little legality by having them sign the PAC's statement to protect for the First and Second Amendments... does that mean there's no added incentive to declare yourself a republican, a trumpite? no, but legally he's probably clear. I would hope this WASN'T the case but things the way they are today???

From what I understand there's a real problem with the 1 million a day every day thing. I would not be surprised to see that investigated. The question is, can they act quickly enough as it is only 3 weeks to the election.
