Backlash after missing GOP lawmaker is found in dementia care facility

81-year old GOP representative missing for 6 months before people seemed to realise... her office was deserted and it took information from a member of the public to find she was housed in a memory care residency after she'd been found wandering around her former neighbourhood, unaware of where she was.

Kay Granger, 81, who was set to wind up a nearly 30-year career in the House in January, was reportedly living in the $4,000-a-month nursing home for the past six months.

Unable to do her job, not participating in a vote for 6 months, and yet the other members of the Texan GOP seemed quite unaware of her plight, at least publicly.

If she painted herself orange and wore a diaper, she could still be in office.

But seriously, Alzheimer’s is awful and her story is sad.
