The Kindom in Chaos....

Yrismir

Yrismir used his stride to his advantage. The Wise One was coming, he had to get there with enough time to make the others look presentable. He knew how she moved when she did things like, and was grateful for the added time he would have to make sure these outsiders would show the proper respect.

He made good time getting back to where the others were, and looked around at them all. "The Wise One has decided to see you. She will be coming here. It is a great honor. Now, a few rules: You will not interrupt her, everything she has to say is important, and she will listen to what you have to say when she has the time for it. You will be respectful of her, and refer to her as 'Wise One'. Finally,...Do Not ask her for anything. Anything she may do for you is of her will, and she will not give you more."

He stood firm, his eyes watching them closely.

Wise One

The old woman called Yrismir over to help on to the stage, she didnt need the help , but it worked really well for the effect. She sat on the throne in the center and scanned the people in the room.

She raised her hand up to tell everyone that it was fine,They could stand or sit where they were. She then called Delbeath to her. He was carrying the princess and asked him to lay her down on the table in front of her.

The old woman ambled over to the table to examine the princess. There was no obvious wound, until the Wise one saw her ankle, there was a symbol on it, as if she was being taken, or rather being marked for the taking.

Her eyes widened when she saw the symbol. She only knew one group of people that would create such a symbol. It was good that they were able to keep her from dying. She closed her eyes and started and ancient chant, one that's language was so old and foriegn that no one in the room recognized it.

An hour or so passed and the old woman continued to chant. Just when Anya was about to stand up and break the woman's concentration, the Princess took a deep breath, then started to cough. The old woman stopped chanting and had Yrismir pick her up and help her to the seat.

Liliana

The burning was so intense it wouldnt go away. Why couldnt they leave her alone. She just wanted to die. She knew it was going to be soon. She could feel her will weakening against them. Then she heard a voice it told her, a way to make the burning stop. The voice soothed her as nothing would, and finally she was able to take a breath.

It was cool and when she opened her eyes a strange orkish man that she had never seen before had hold of her. Her whole body tensed up and just when she was going to scream, Yrismir put her down gently into a chair. She simply said, "Thank you" in a voice that was scratchy and unused.

She looked around and noticed that a few people were not there, the man who's life she saved had dissappeared. There in front of her was Gavin, the Orkish creature, Delbeath, whose demeaner didnt change, but she looked into his eyes and saw that it had indeed warmed. She could tell he was happy his charge had not perished.

Then she saw Anya who couldnt wait and ran up onto the stage table and gave her friend a good strong hug. "Oh I thought I would never see you again. Dont you ever decide to do this to me again. Not that you ever listen but .. I am ot going to leave you alone EVER."

Liliana smiled softly and whispered, "I shall try not to.."

She looked over to the Wise One, she knew this was the only person that could have helped her. She nodded her head in a bow and said, "thank you Oh Wise One you have truly saved my family."

The wise One smiled and said to her come with me child I have need to speak to you privately. She stood and moved her hand in a gesture for her to take it while they walked out of the tent and left everyone with their thoughts.

Ivellias sighed and took up a sitting position in the small shelter, resting his wooden staff against his shoulder and closing his eyeswaiting patiently, looking a lot better sober,semi-clean,and not scared of drows leaping out on him every few moments.

Delbaeth inspected the palms of his hands. They were bloody, and for a moment this puzzled him. Then he realised the truth; during the ritual, during that time of chanting and tension that seemed to build and build never end, his clenched fists had driven his fingernails through the skin.

The wave of relief that came over him when Liliana stirred was dizzying. For a moment, he felt the urge to give a laughing smile, such as he hadn't worn since Jaedhar had died, but he repressed it. He met the princess' opening eyes with his usual bleak stare, but at the corner of his own eyes there was a hint of warmth, and his gaze lingered a while. Her every tentative movement, uncertain, still-drowsy stretch seemed like a minor miracle to Delbaeth.

His eyes followed Anya as she ran impulsively across the room to fiercely hug her friend. She whispered something to Liliana but Delbaeth, feeling an odd sense of alienation, of being an outsider, stepped back and did not try to listen.

When the Wise One summoned Liliana away, Delbaeth was on the verge of protest. It seemed to him that his charge, so nearly lost to him, was still in an uncertain realm, a place where terrible things might still befall her if she left his sight for just a moment. He remembered their guide's advice, though, and remembered that it was only thanks to the Wise One Liliana was still alive at all.

It was still a sense of reluctance and apprehension he watched her leave. Delbaeth paced the tent's length uneasily up and down, his eyes flickering between each of his unlikely companions, wondering how long it would take before he could be assured of Liliana's safety again. He stopped near where Anya sat, curled up in an improbably relaxed pose on one of the chairs, slender legs swinging freely, and looked thoughtfully down at her, eyes cold but with a hint of the friendship that had disappeared earlier.

Yrismir

Yrismir stood in front of the exit where the Wise One and the Princess had exited, and stood. He watched the others with an emotionless expression that let them know that they were going to wait right where they were, no matter what they thought about it.

He stood, and he waited, along with the others. He kept a watch on them, making sure that the Wise One's private word with the Princess remained private. He himself would never eavesdrop, as the Wise One was not only a protector and ruler of the Neutral Zone, but revered almost as a God.

Gods, though, tended to care less about their subjects. He smiled to himself, wondering how long her private word would take.

Liliana and Anya

Liliana sat down on the wooden stump in the Wise One's chamber. The old woman closed the leafy curtain and then looked over to the princess. "Child I am going to change. Do not be alarmed as I am going to still be the same person, I simply refuse to let you believe I look this way all the time.. call me vain, but I figured that as a woman you would understand. "

The Woman turned and shed her disguise and turned around to look like a woman of about twenty-five. Her features still indestinguishable. She smiled at the princess. "There now I am better." Liliana stood there mesmorized.

"why would you change this way?" The Wise One smiled at the question, "If I came to you as I look now would you believe I was the wise one?" Liliana shook her head. "Just as I expected,"

"But then How is it possible that you are as young as you are?"

"Be sure Child I may look young but I am far older than your father's reign in your kingdom."

Liliana's eyes widened. The Wise One smiled and said, "child how it is that I am to be as I am is not an issue. Listen to me very carefully child, I believe you are going to need my help..." Then the Wise One told Liliana of the news that she was privy to and the things that she had found out about the where abouts of her mother and brother.

About an hour later a young woman and Liliana walked into the tent where her friends were. Just as they did the young woman motioned to Yrismir not to acknowledge her.

Anya

Anya swung her legs back and forth to hide the nervousness of letting Liliana out of her presence. she was so thankful to the Wise One that she saved her friend's life. She brushed a tear from her eye. Looking up she caught Delbeath's gaze. His eyes continued to be cold and she was afraid.

Despite her fear, she smiled at him, walking over to him she looked up and motioned to him whispering in his ear. Straightening she walked over to Gavin and sat across from him. She pulled out a small deck of cards and smirked at him, " wanna play poker?". She wanted to act playful so she could hide her nerves. She motioned to Yrismir and Ivellios as well. she turned her head to Delbeath and motioned him over.

She played with Gavin and Ivellios. Yrismir and Delbeath refused to leave their posts keeping an eye out for Lily.

Liliana

Liliana and her friend walked in to find her friend Anya fleaceing the dwarf and the farmer out of their money. She smiled and then coughed loudly.

Anya looked up and her eyes brightened instantly. "Hey, who is this?"

Liliana looked over to the young woman beside her. She was dressed in leather clothing that seemed to be made out of skins. She frame wasnt particullarly elven or orkish .. or really anything. She was taller than the princess by a few inches, but shrter than the other males there. On her side was a scimitar and what looked like a bow across her chest. She carried a satchel that hung from one side of her waist belt making in tilt to one side. Her hair had braids full of plants that were interwined with the strands of soft dark brown hair.

"this is Tenora, she is one of the wise one's personnal guards and is going to accompany us in the journey to come as it seems we are going to need all the help we can get."

Tenora looked at everyone and smiled softly, "Hello all" she looked over everyone and stopped at Yrismir almost glaring at him as if to silence any protest form him.

Lilana walked to Yrismir and smiled, and said to him, "I thank you so much for bringing me here, you have saved my life and taken me to the one person who has made my quest so much easier to fullfill. The Wise one has sent me with this missive to give to you."

Looking at Gavin she said, " are you ready to head out, my friend?" Smiling at Gavin knowing his answer she turned and then went to Delbeath,"Thank you so much for being there for me my friend, I know you will coem to follow me till the end of the world if it meant to save my life."

Smiling Liliana then went to Ivellios and said, "thank you so much for Journeying with my friends. I have sent a disbatch to your village as we speak there are troops , from my own personall soldiers going to investigate the skirmishes. I have but one favor to ask of you sir, WOuld you like to accompany us in a mission to save the Kingdom?"

From his post, arms folded, Delbaeth made brief scans of the room, while always keeping one watchful eye out for Liliana's return. He watched Anya play cards with Gavin and Ivellios, keeping up a constant of cheerful banter. He thought he saw something forced in her manner, a hint of nervousness beneath her usual playfulness. For a moment, he felt an odd urge to try and say something comforting to her, but Delbaeth could think of nothing and the moment passed.

His fellow guard, Yrismir, remained as watchful and silent as Delbaeth himself.

Something loosened in the wound-up, unbearably tense clockwork of Delbaeth's pose as the princess returned, accompanied by a woman fighter unknown to the bodyguard. As Liliana introduced her as Tenora, Delbaeth caught the edge of an inscrutable exchange of glances between her and Yrismir. He was unable to read its significance, although Yrismir's expression seemed to tighten a little.

Delbaeth was unconcerned, himself. More trustworthy fighters with them, and one of the Wise One's guards could hardly be untrustworthy, meant the princess would be safer.

He bowed as Liliana moved over to him and addressed him. "To the end of the world", he replied simply, as though it were a vow to be fulfilled. Perhaps it was.

As Liliana moved away, his troubled eyes followed her. To the end of the world?

Yrismir

He scanned the missive once, and his eyes raised back up to the Wi-Tenora. He sighed, and shifted his feet, frowning deeply as he looked at her. He pointed with hand not holding the missive.

"Don't think I don't see right through you, Tenora. Because I do. The Wise One senses trouble, so she decides a holy pilgrimage is needed to see how best to look after her people in a time of trouble, and you decide to go running off to who-knows-where where this bunch because you sense an adventure."

He sighed, shaking his head. He moved to the enterance, and gave a high-pitched whistle. An armored elf arrived at a run and saluted Yrismir. They were wearing much the same uniform, except the elf's clothes were green instead of Yrismir's own dark blue.

He thrust the missive at the elf. "Take this to the High Circle. Immediately. And tell them that I'm leaving, to protect one of our own from getting herself too deep in trouble. Tell Hisengard that she'd best prove herself worthy, and inform the Enforcers and Low Circle that I've temporarily halted all challenges for title."

He sighed, and motioned the elf away. He took off running. He turned back, and glared at Tenora, to let her know he'd go along with her game, but he was going to go along with her, and there wasn't any way she was going to change that.

Tenora, Liliana and Anya

Tenora

Tenora smiled as she heard Yrismir's tone with her. She couldnt help but be excited that he was comming with. It was exactly what the Wise One had wanted. She met Yrismir's glare and returned it with a bright smile, "So glad you could join us. We could use all the help we can get."

She turned to Liliana. "Shall we leave for the boat your highness its due to leave by tomorrow at dusk. If we are to make it then we should head off.?"

Liliana

Liliana looked over everone else and asked, "If everyone else is ready to leave then we will head back to towards the the capital so we can leave at the port."

Anya

"Wait, shouldn't we at least thank the Wise one? I mean she did save your life and we need to get the information that she had so we could look for the heir?" she didnt like being completely thrown into thing without knowing what they were doing.

She glared at Lily, "You know Lily this isnt like last time right?? You do know where your going?"

Liliana smiled and said, "Relax Anya, The Wise One told me everythign I needed to know.. You see that's why we are heading to the port. The Wise One said that we would be able to find rumors to the whereabouts of Tildiir and my mother. Apparently they were taken there, "

Anya glared at Lily. "Is that ALL that the WIse One told you?!" Lily looked at her in an enigmatic way as if knowing that keeping information from Anya was torture.. she said, "More or less. "

"Fine! I'm ready." Anya grumbled. She hated boats... She was probably the only elf afraid of water, but that wasnt going to stop her from going with Lily besides.. going to the slave Isle was bound to get Lily into trouble and she wanted to be there to get her out.

Yrismir

Yrismir stiffened. The docks? He went slack and emotionless in an instant. It had been a long time since he'd been down to the docks, or anywhere near the ocean. And worse yet, they were going on a boat?

Or maybe a ship, a ship out to sea? To the strange lands beyond where sometimes people left to go to the Neutral Zone? He stared ahead blankly, and then shook himself from memories of a small ship, the open ocean, and happiness that seemed to have died a lifetime ago.

"A ship? Are we,...going somewhere?"

Delbaeth crossed the room, to take his place beside Anya.

"The Slave Isle?", he queried aloud. A dangerous place, that. In his early days, when he'd thought he was a bard, he'd heard many dark stories emanating from it; betrayals, murders... kidnapping. His eyes narrowed. What better place to look for their lost? Then again, what better place to lure the princess into a trap?

Lost in his own thoughts, he missed the start of Anya's protests; low, under-the-breath muttered grumblings beside him. He looked down at the rogue, face harsh but softened by a wry amusement and understanding. He bent down to whisper softly into her ear.

"Don't like boats? I'm the same. We'll both be worried and seasick together"

He tried to smile. It wasn't true; Delbaeth had never had a problem with boats. He was doing, a strange thing for him, his best to comfort the girl. He wasn't much of a liar, or indeed very comforting with his cold eyes and pale face, but the intent was there.

Ivellias could forget his troubles for a while as he played poker, showing his semi-adequacy at the game, though unable to truly bluff when needed he was pretyt good the same.
HE lsitened quietly as the exchange took place once Liliana, havingben able to hide hisawe wuite well atbeng in such a loftycompan sucas a princess. He sighed and stood slowly, stretching."so when are we going?"he stretche don t his toes, apparently unconcerned at the boat ride, having never been on a boat before, his town only having a small river wide enough for fishing, swimming, and irrigation and that was it,barely bigger thena stream in fact.

Narration

The Betrayer watched his minions go down one by one. Smiling as he saw one of the princess's allets go down. His bony fingers clenched the edge of the arm chair. He watched Until the last had accomplished the binding spell. His eyes lit up with an evil fire. He waited to see if the last of his creatures would get the girl, unfortunately ..he watched as the stupid thing allowed for his head to get cut off.

Grunting in frusttration he moved his had over his mirror and it becoe once more simply a mirror. What could he do? Word was going to come out about the creature's attck on the princess. He paced the room back and forth, waiting for the soldiers to come up to le thim know of the unfortunate accidedent of the princess.

Morning came and went and the evil man smiled. So no one was raising the alram.. good he thought. This will allow him to move towards to second plan. He would ahve them followed. It wouldnt be too long before they would surface again. In the mena while he had to prepare.....

Gavin

"Well then, once we get to the docks, Ol' Gavin here will have to show you whelps a thing or two about sailing. We Dwarves are natural sailors, you know?"

Tenora looked at the Dwarf and snorted. Smiling she said, "sure they are." Looking at LIliana she asked, "shall we go then?"

Liliana nodded.

Anya looked up at Delbeath smiling and mouthed to him thanks. She sighed and picked up her cards. Where Lily was going she was too. Gon know what trouble they'll get into next.

Liliana said, "Yrismir, if you could lead the way... that would be wonderful, The Wise One mentione a short cut that She showed to you, about getting back to the city. I need to see my father before we leave."

With that the group headed out and the tribe was there to see them off.

Ivellias shouldered his pack a bit mroe firmly across his shoulders. These people were a bit creepy after all, with all this mystical stuff and what-not.His fingers slid along the familiar wood of his shepherds crook and he sighed, and stood a little straighter, using a long, woodmans distance-eating stride for the walk to the port.

Delbaeth nodded to Anya, then stalked to near the front of the group; on hand if trouble occurred, but close enough to keep an eye on Liliana. He drew a dark cloak around his armour. His eyes surveyed the deep forest they plunged into warily, distrustfully. Perfect place for an ambush, elven senses informed him. Without appearing to think about it, he drifted closer to the princess, and his hand closed around the hilt of his blade. His mind, for once free from regrets and guilts, analyzed restlessly, thinking through precautionary steps, plans for Liliana's protection, worst-case scenarios of treachery or failure from their companions. He was determined not to fail her again.

Yrismir

He rolled his eyes, and took to the lead. Why the Wise One wanted to go with them was beyond him, but he was sure that for whatever reason, she was doing what needed to be done.

He sighed, and started off right back to where they'd come from, making a full circle of a trip. Oh well, it was not his place to question, but to serve, and protect. He only wished that he knew what was going on.

Narration

The small group went about their trail, amazingly nothing attacked them, it was as if hte forest itself were hiding them. Once mroe Yrismir took theminto the cave. And this time they managed to cross the cave in an hour's time. Again the group traveled in silence, to eacht heir own thoughts.

Once they arrived into the outskirts of the city .. LilIana turned, "I need to speak with the King, So I will see you all at eh port this evening. Get your supplie and we'll meet at the tavern two hours before dusk." She looked at Gavin, "If you would like to come with us you may.. It may be important to keep up appearances, as it is a few hours we have not yet ben seen at the palace." With that, Gavin, Delbeath and Liliana went for the Royal palace.

Anya turned to Yrismir, Tenora, and Ivellios. "My home is always welcome .. although you are welcome to to wander about the city as well. What do you say will you joinme or would you rather wander about and get your supplies. I .. need to get supplies as well."

Narration

The Betrayer continued to lay his plans. He called for his apprentice, the stupid idiot had no idea what plans he had. He followed his instruction perfectly.

When the apprentice arrived the Betrayer said to him. "Be sure to notify me as soon as the princess is about.."

"SIr if you will allow me, The Princess is with The King. They have barred the door and no one is allowed in. " Trying to hide his shock. "Oh I had not realized the princess was in the palace."

"Well sir, You know how it is. much like the Queen she is. comes and goes when she pleases. Is that all sir, I have duties that are needed to be attended. "

The Betrayer nodded. "yes yes go now I have no more need."

The apprentice bowed and left the room. THe betrayer scowled as soon as he heard the door shut. it appeared that his plan to remove the princess failed as well. he would have to keep an eye on her. gesturing to the mirror he view the interior of the Chamber and watched....

MEANWHILE in the King's Chamber..

"My child I implore do not go... " The fraile man on the bed spoke to his daughter.

"No Father I am going, rest assured I am well protected. The Wise One has given me knowledge to the where abouts of where Mother is.."

Peloor smiled. He knew he could count on his friend to help when the time came. It was all happened so suddenly .. nothing like what they were expecting...

"Child take my guard with you.. She will be quite helpful to you, and I will feel better knowing you have one more there to protect you..."

Liliana kissed her father's forehead. He was so pale, she fought back the tears that were welling up in her eyes. "Blessed be father .. May the Goddess smile upon our quest."

smiling Peloor whispered, "blessed be.."

The betrayer smiled. It seems he would be able to keep watch better than he axpected. although he wasnt expecting this .. perhaps this group would never reach their destination... he would have to consult his master for guidance....

Yrismir

He nodded. "Yes, I do believe gathering supplies would be best, and I think it would be good to get things out of the way before we started going anywhere."

He grabbed Tenora by her belt, and pulled her towards him. He turned his gaze to her, and began rattling off a list of supplies they'd be needing, quantities, and how many packs they should make ready for the group, as well as how the heavier items they wouldn't need extras of should be divided up.

Once he was done, he let go and stretched. "Now, while you're taking care of that, I think I'll go and get some rest." He smiled at her, and turned towards the Inn. "Hope you all have fun,..."

Tenora and Anya

Tenora yelped as Yrismir grabbed her belt. No one had ever treated her that way in all the years of her guarding the Wise One and her secrets. She almost felt normal. Listening to the long list of supplies the Yrismir seemed to think the group needed, she kept up a glare, although it was sudden she didnt want him to think she liked being manhandled.

Nodding to Anya , "Let's go the boys seem to think they dont need to come." They duo headed off down the street leaving Ivellios with Yrismir at the Inn.

Tenora followed Anya a few zigzaging streets with out a word. Noticing that they were leaving the Market area and still hadnt even bought a few items. "Do you realize that we have left the market?"

Anya stopped in front of a broken down building in the middle of the peasant quarters, in onf the othe back alleys that didnt seem to have any light in it. Turning to Tenora she said, "Absolutely." then knocked on the door, flashing a mischeivious grin towards Tenora.

The slat in front of the door opened and and the pair of eyes roamed the pair savoring what they saw. "If you dont want to get those eyes poked out Guedo then I suggest you open the door."

After hearing an explicative or two, the pair heard what sounded like three dozen lockes being opened. Then they heard a groand and a hiss as if they were walking into a vault.

"why dont you ever take the grain opening..?" Guedo asked.

"You know I hate getting my stuff dirtied. besides I have a guest. Anyways where is my brother Diablo?" Guedo sighed, it wasnt as if he knew exactly where the bosses whereabout were because he told him, no he was useful to the gang, because he seemed to be able to get any information from anywhere.

"he's busy with a guest." Anya rolled her eyes, she knew what that meant.

"well I just need to get a few things and we'll be out of you way." Guedo groaned this time.

"Anya I hate todo this toyou, but I was told to tell you you couldnt borrow anymore things anymore, they seem to dissappear all everytime, and thats saying something when you arte living in a ..."

"That's enough Guedo, here is the drill. I go get my stuff. You stand here and be guard boy lke you always do and not tell me this everytime I come home." Giving him her most flashy smile, she sauntered off.

Tenora watched the exchange. Already guessing by the interior of this place, that it was definately not the typical home, She asked Anya, "So who is in charge here?" As she followed Anya to her chambers.

Anya turned into her room and looked around. It was a typical room, just not one someone would expect the second to have. It looked like a little girls room filled with tiny kittens and fluffy pillows. Dare she say it .. a few dolls as well.

She shut the door and locked it. then walked over to her grand bed and Tenora distinctly heard a click.

All of a sudden the bed slid over and Tenora saw why Anya had no care for wheat Guedo said, "She had a backdoor access to the supply room.

A few mins later, Anya walked out with a few satchels filled with the supplies Yrismir wanted.

Laughing Tenora took a few packs. "I never expected not having to pay for anything." Anya smiled, "Oh I payed for this I assure you. Smiling secretively. Then after saying a few Draconian words, the sacks disappeared.

"Relax they are still there. It something I picked up a week ago, from that old wizard's room at the palace. It was so easy to swipe a scroll or two and learn it then leave it where I found it."

Tenora shook her from side to side. "its your deal Anya." An hour later they walked into the Inn Yrismir was in, and saw that apparently Liliana brought yet another to join their quest adn from the looks of it, it was the silent guard of the kings. As ususally she carried nothing with her.

Liliana looked at everyone. "let head to the dock handing Yrismir, and Delbeath a bag of gold telling htem to negotiate with the captain with their group. For a cabin.

Lily looked at Anya and smiled, "You go with Delbeath and bail him out should he need it. Yrismir, Gavin and Tenora you guys also go on your own and make it to the ship. Ivellios, and My silent friend here will come with me. Okay, so If we go in small groups they wont be so intimidated."

"Once you see that we've entered the ship, then come up a few mins later."With that she turned and headed towards the dock where the ship was docked.

Yrismir and the Guard

Although Yrismir took what he had been given, he made to motion, and neither did the woman who was returning his hard glare. She was not what anyone would call beautiful, being less feminine than most elven males. She was powerfully built, and dressed in clothes to facilitate hand-to-hand combat and announce her school of learning.

Though what it was, he had no idea. From the second they had laid eyes on each other, they had been staring angrily at each other, sizing each other up, and becoming more and more angry at the others presence, as if the very act of the other breathing was somehow profane to the other.

Neither moved. They stood maybe four feet apart, silently staring at each other in a manner that made it quite clear to the other that they were ready to fight to the death. The energy seemed lost on the others, though. Yrismir had been given orders, but, as the Wise One did not want to be the Wise One for the moment, he was able to ignore the orders for now, as he had been quite concent to manhandle her and make her do all the work earlier.

He had no idea who the woman was. It didn't matter to him. Put he knew that if she attacked, he would have to kill her, and if she didn't attack, he would have to. The woman thought the same thing, and the two of them stared into each others eyes, running across thousands of different moves they could use, and counters the other could.

They took into account things they didn't think were possible, and made up reactions as they went along, each knowing the first blow was crucial, and it had to be done properly. Each questioned the others knowledge and ability, and each wondered who would be the first to break down,...and attack.

The docks smelled of salt and fish and old wood and new paint. Delbaeth moved through the crowd, observing each and every passer-by for soft movements, unusual grace, the bulges of weapons... anything that might betray an assassin before they had the chance to strike. The docks were crowded; the usual mixture of other elves, going about their business quietly and competently and brash, noisy human sailors, drunk and gawking about them at the elven city. Delbaeth consciously allowed himself to relax, reassured.

His gaze drifted down to Anya, doing her best to keep up with his stride. At times, she had to break into a run. His eyes narrowed as they approached the vessel Liliana had selected, remembering her dislike of ships and the sea. He placed a steadying hand on her shoulder as he leaned back to inspect the ship.

"Will you be all right?", he asked softly.
