Are we going to stop in El Paso before sending the rest of the crew back to Smallville?

Lex can get bustled off to Metropolis, straight from the Gen-Tech jet to a LuthorCorp jet... that's perfectly fine, but I was really hoping to see the reunion in Texas for everyone else.

DVD Extra: Season 3 preview

From up here you couldn't see the blights. You couldn't see what the damage from fossil fuels, oil spills, and the carelessness of humans had done to her. The Amazon was still a mighty green form on her blue skin, and the white clouds shrouded her, teasingly parting to give a glimpse of blue and green.

Earth from space was a thing of beauty. I now knew why astronauts would do anything to come back here.

Five hours ago J'onn had transported us up here to Watchtower. Kara had greeted us when we materialized (about damn near broke my neck. I forgot to tell her that teleporting me separates me from shadow. I was 100% human for the next ten hours and some change) and had whisked us around on a tour.

The station was huge, and more advanced than anything else on the planet. Gen-Tech, Wayne Enterprises tech, and even some stuff Luthor made was incorporated in the designs, and every major power in the world had lent resources to build it.

It was a monument to what humans could do if they worked together.

This was going to be the home of the Justice League.


Kara got us settled in and whisked Rose away to meet some of the others. The Flash and Green lantern were here, and Diana was around somewhere.

I even heard Bruce was coming up. Thats a miracle in itself.

I, of course, was here as Kyle Greystone. Boyfriend of Rose, and a officer of Gen Tech, which had built over half of this place.

In ten hours, Wraith would be here, and they could give us the speech. Thats why we were here. Kara really wanted Rose on the team, and Rose really didn't want to be, but then she could never turn down Kara's puppy dog eyes.

So while Kara showed my crimson haired angel around this ninth wonder of the world below, I looked down on the earth and fingered a round object in my pocket.

This was the time. I couldn't do this any other way and be what I am right now

A man.


"Watchtower, location of Rose McCrimmon."

"Rose is in the hangar bay with Supergirl and Wonder Woman. They are supposed to be going over the equipment there, but mostly they are just chatting. Anything else Kyle?"

I smiled. Chloe's voice coming out of the speaker above me still made me grin. Bekka had never gotten her on the payroll, but she had gotten her to be the synapse model for the second generation A.I. we created. Watchtower was as much Chloe's child as GenTechs.

"Could you please pass on a message for her to meet me here alone."

"Sure thing Kyle. OHMYGOD!!!!!!!! Your gonna ask here HERE!!!!!!!"

I smiled. Definitely Chloe's child. "Yes you overgrown i-pod. Now be quiet. Go ahead and record it, I know telling you not to will get ignored anyway, and your flesh-sister would kill you if you don't. you two have my blessing to eavesdrop."

"Now Kyle, you know I am programmed to follow yours and Bekka's commands.... OK, that one I'd have to fudge because Chloe would kill me. OH! She did have something to pass on, but don't you DARE tell her I told!!!!"

"Lips are sealed. Whats the news?"

"It's a girl. And thats all I am saying."


I could feel the smile stretching across my face. Chloe had wanted to wait, but she was powerless against Meric's puppy dog eyes. They were married four months ago in London. She was driving her editor crazy over there while he was finishing up his vets degree. And they were deliriously happy. And now they were having a baby. Rose was going to be so thrilled!

"My lips are sealed. Now be quiet, I think I heard the door open to the lift."


A few seconds later Rose came around the corner. Red hair slightly mussed from the hugs, well worn jeans snug on her and a green T shirt with gold Celtic knotwork in the center.

"You rang, sweets? I was doing, um, important small-talk things. What's goin' on, something wrong?"

"No love, things are far from wrong. Come here."

She came over to me and slipped her arm around my waist, giving me a quick peck on the cheek. She knew what teleports did to me, and knew that I felt less like this. She worried.

I turned and looked into her ice blue eyes. I saw concern, wonderment, and most of all love in them.

"I have been going over this in my mind over and over like a hamster running on a wheel. I decided that I want to do this while I am a man, no powers, no boardrooms, no villains or world threatening beasties trying to harm us and those we protect. I want to do this, have wanted to do this for so long, but the time wasn't right. Now it is."

I reached down into my pocket, pulling out the small ring that had been in there since we woke up that morning. A large blue diamond was flanked by two smaller red diamonds, and circled by small black diamonds and clear diamonds. The stones were set in a white gold band, and on the inside was inscribed "eternity". I got down to one knee, and reached up, taking Roses hand. Her eyes were brighter than I had ever seen them.

"You captured my heart the moment we met. I have lived more, loved more and seen more wondrous things in your eyes than in all the lands I have tread upon. I want to spend forever with you, my beautiful star."

I paused a second, and with my voice trembling, said in a voice barely above a whisper, "Will you marry me?"

I was exposed to this abomination known as Twilight. So full of suck it hurts.
