Hey, I don't know if you saw (or if you're a veggie, or if you like southern food and/or bbq) but I left a couple recommendations for places you could go if you guys were looking for good places to eat out while you're here. Did you see them? I don't even remember what thread it was at this point.

Yeah I didn't see it. I love southern food though! I think we most likely won't be going out all too much. I got a grandma who is crazy about when it comes to cooking.

Well, at least hoping that she's up to it.

But, I'll take the list!

It has been getting down to freezing in the late night early morning, then climbing up to the 50's, and 60's. Hopefully it will be nice and warm while you are here.

I'm hoping so too! Averages around here is like.... 40s-50s then just crazy cold at night. Plus it's raining a lot.

Cooking grandmas are the best. *nods sagely*

Okay, so, Mary Mac's Tea Room (which is not actually a tea room at all) on Ponce, almost right in downtown, is fantastic. Might be a bit of a wait on the weekends, and their parking lot is impossibly small so be prepared to park in the neighborhood and walk a bit, but it's definitely worth it.

For BBQ, Fox Bros on Dekalb is amazing. Ridiculously small, but they've set up a tent with tables in front of their place, and it kind of makes it feel like you're at a picnic or something. But so fucking good. Smoked wings are awesome, ribs are awesome, twice-smoked brisket will be the best thing you put in your mouth. Mac n' cheese is also amazing.

Fat Matt is supposed to have great BBQ, too, but I haven't been there yet. Fox Bros is excellent, though. And a good alcohol selection, too.

If you guys are looking for a good lunch place and are out in that direction, Marietta Pizza Company on the square in Marietta has pretty great thin crust pizza, and plenty of tables so you can sit outside when it's nice. If the weather stays this way, it'll be perfect for it.

I'm sure there are plenty of others (Holy Taco for some good, interesting Mexican), but those are good places to start with. And they both have good sweet tea, too!

I think I've been to the Tea Room. It sounds so familiar. Couldn't be sure though. I do know I want to at least go out and enjoy some really good Southern food while I'm there. I miss Southern foods!

How have you never been to Stone Mountain? The laser show is awesome.

Yeah, he wouldn't be tall for today, but for the time he wasn't really short at all.

Wikipedia's "common misconceptions" page is a fascinating read if you're bored sometime.
