I'd rather the posters here stay themselves than see the forum overrun with personal ads and picture threads (which is ok, but how many different submission pic threads do we need?). It seems like the forum died even more after pointing out that some of us make people elsewhere uncomfortable. Those people aren't participating here so I'm not going to bend over backwards to please them.

As was mentioned in that thread, people who post regularly and sincerely seem to be the ones that become regulars. I'm all for more people joining in, but lately it's just people asking an "I'm new tell me how to get started" thread and then we never hear from them again. Doesn't matter how nice we are to them.

Alright, I'm done ranting...

I've noticed a few people posting a bit more often here in recent weeks, though it's not like the place is overrun with newcomers. Ultimately, you're right that it's the folks who post sincerely, authentically, and regularly who form the community. Others who de-lurk will do so from time to time as they see opportunities to say something they feel is important - or funny, or whatever.

My husband and I don't do the local anything. This place was my intro and how I was able to start learning. It is my local community as far as I'm concerned. :heart:

The nerves subside, I think I rewrote my first post 20 times with shaking fingers before I hit 'submit.' f^_^; )
 
It is interesting to think about the community here. I posted pretty regularly for a couple of years and then disappeared for the most part for a couple. It is nice to see that many I loved reading their posts still participate.

I'm not 100% sure what happened with the thread moves. I can see that the Spread Eagle Bondage thread, which is almost exclusively pictures and gif files, is still in the Talk forum but I can't find the Control Me thread any longer at all. There was some discussion in Shank's thread about its proper location and I saw Etoile post there that she was moving it. I don't know about the excess gif file threads that were started the other day.

Just to be clear, Control Me wasn't moved to the Cafe? Why would that be moved out of BDSM. :confused:
 
No good, I wonder why those threads were deleted and not just moved. Copyright issues? I have no idea.
 
I used to be a regular poster in a few select groups. Eventually those drifted apart, as did the friendships. The most important thing you will find here is acceptance. There will be areas where the trolls and jerkfaces rear their ugly heads, but for the most part you will be accepted. Regardless of shape, color, creed, persuasion, belief, or lack of belief, someone/some group will accept you.

Welcome to Lit. Thank you for being brave. We were all there once.

I purchased new running shoes today and I'm kind of excited to try them out. I'm not fond of the color scheme, but I was being more picky about the price. All in all, my old shoes were about as supportive as wrapping washcloths around my feet, so this is good. Very good.
