"Maybe you can help me think of something; and if you promise to hold my hand you can watch as I get it done," Sophie said.
"I'd love to be there," Aubrey admitted, trying to imagine what type of tattoo would be best for the beautiful, shy blonde sitting in front of her. Nothing too bold, but not one of those cutesy little dolphins or unicorns either. She needs something subtle with just a hint of the wild child waiting to break free. "I've got a lot of experience holding hands and keeping friends distracted while they get inked."
Aubrey winked at her new friend, feeling their new found bond growing stronger by the minute. They spent the next few hours talking about movies, music and books and found they had a lot in common. They talked about their childhoods, their families and their friends, and though Aubrey didn't share everything about her past, she did at least hint at some of the bad relationships, and even revealed the fact that she had worked for two years as a stripper. She felt a real connection with Sophie, the kind that you don't find often, the kind that keeps two relative strangers talking for hours.
The second bottle of wine was empty by the time Aubrey looked over at the clock on saw that it was nearing midnight. Wow! Had they really been talking that long?
"You know, you're welcome to crash on the couch if you want," she offered as she leaned her head onto Sophie's shoulder, the two of them having been sitting shoulder to shoulder for the last hour.
