The News Says that the Republican Brown is going to START with the Democrats

Tell us, what did we get in return?

A ceiling and monitoring on both sides ... and a focus on making sure what we do have works.

"I will vote to ratify the New START treaty between the United States and Russia because it leaves our country with enough nuclear warheads to blow any attacker to kingdom come and because the president has committed to an $85-billion, 10-year plan to make sure that those weapons work," Alexander, the chamber's third-ranking Republican, said on the floor of the Senate.

We could spend even more money so we can keep ALL of those weapons modernized and working so we can blow up all attackers a gazillian times over, but I think the deficit is already large enough ... don't you think?

It's only money. Is that your idea of fiscal responsibility? More of the same? You Republicans are still hungover from your last deficit spending spree.

It made Poland feel so much more secure...

Knowing that we would capitulate to Russian demands, that when they invade a country like Georgia, that our leader's reaction would be to consult with them on a vote in the UN Security Council.

Oh no! A third of our nukes!

Now we can only blow up the world 16 times over instead of 24!

Dumb fuck.

It's like the guy competing with his neighbor over who can put up the most xmas lights. Forget the electric bill. Forget the expense of replacing all the bad bulbs every year. Can't have the neighbor outdoing us!

Don't forget that we gain ground in our goal to reduce the total number of nukes in the world which reduces the possibility of a rogue state or terrorist organization getting them

That's the stuff of fantasy and unicorns. Not a one of the rogue states has had to do anything other than watch us sit by haplessly sputtering as they developed the technology. As rocket science goes, bomb making is on the easy end...

It's the rogue states that are spreading the bombs, not us losing control of our arsenal.

The one time we actually acted to stop their development, the beautiful people did everything they could do to prevent us from doing anything other than sitting patiently and sputtering...

There is that ... but we need more more MORE! Spend spend SPEND! It's fiscally irresponsible to let someone outspend you!

It's just more of the same Republican/conservative hypocrisy from the same people who whine and cry about how others spend money irresponsibly. Their deficit spending is better than the other guy.

Bullshit! Terrorist aren't going to get their hands on a strategic nuke, but they might get their hands on Russian tactical nukes which the Russians maintain in numbers ten times our own. We did nothing to lower their numbers in those weapons.

We wouldn't dare! That's not how you negotiate when you're in a reverently-bowed position of weakness!

Whoopie. They were already below the ceiling with their strategic weapons but maintain a ten to one advantage over us in Tactical nukes. Democrats railed about how much the Russians wanted this treaty, NO SHIT!, they always love it when we are dumb enough to give them something for nothing; but why didn't we use that leverage to negotiate a reduction in their Tactical nukes? Instead we get what liberals always want at any cost, the unilateral disarmament of the United States military.

And that idiot has no idea how many warheads it will take to defeat a scenario he hasn't yet materialized, so shelve that shit.

Since you don't already know this let me educate you on the subject matter.

We aren't going to have a nuclear war with Russia.

I know!

What a waste of money it was to do Star Wars!

All we had to do was cut, cut, cut our defense and we'd still be better armed that the Soviet Union. The we would still have MAD instead of possessing the expensive technology to maybe actually prevent MAD because we developed a defense to it. Who needs Poland as an ally anyway? Compared to Russia, they're useless tits on a boar hog.

Bottom line, we can ALWAYS cut defense. No other spending is EVER a problem, just defense, it's that huge Christmas electric bill and we know how offensive Christmas is!

We aren't going to have a nuclear war with Russia, but we're willing to allow your rouge states to take out Tel Aviv, Warsaw, Budapest, Paris, London, whatever, because not deploying a defensive shield is what the Russians would like us to do so they can maintain their drive to dominate two continents...

What you know about this subject can be recorded on the head of a fucking pin with a crayon.

Mr. Paranoid, is there anything you don't fear? Gays, Mexicans, Russians, Muslims, Chinese, European socialists, the federal government, state governments, the government owning part of GM for a year, the Board of Education, the IRS, the President, Reverent Wright, logging off of Lit...

The list goes on and on for you. I bet you have three dead-bolt locks on your doors and a small arsenal ready to rock.

WTF is a rouge state? Ones with a lot of red paint on their buildings?

Whoopie. They were already below the ceiling with their strategic weapons but maintain a ten to one advantage over us in Tactical nukes.

Too precious. You Republicans are just so cute in how you rationalize your gluttony.

We did get something for it. We can still blow up the world many times over too. Once will do. If anyone happens to be left, they can throw the switch and do it twice.
