I tried submitting a short story but it got sent back with the note saying to wait until 2nd March. I don't want it to be a part of the contest though, just want it to be published on April 1

It used to be like that until I started using the Read Aloud feature and can catch more of them.
One of my biggest annoyances is mixing up wandered with wondered. GODS.

Is your story a contest entry? You mentioned above not wanting to be in the contest but trying for a 4/1 release date.

I submitted on 2/27 and it hasn't been kicked back or approved yet. Still pending, from what I can see.

Usually for Contests they are published “immediately” and show up on the list of stories for the whole submission period, so it is good to submit early.

That's what I thought but I wasn't sure being the fact that the contest is for a specific day. Thank you

Halloween, Christmas and Valentine's Day are all 'for a specific day' too. Per the OP of this thread, winners will be announced 27 March, so they're definitely not waiting until 1 April to go live.

My April Fools stories were published about 2:30 A.M. central standard time. Other April Fools stories were published an hour before that.

I had one story rejected, fixed and resubmitted it, it just took a lot longer to get processed the second time.
Figured I'd just wait till the day entries open to submit to not have to worry about it.

There is a typo in the title of my story

Worse news? This is the second time I've made the same typo and that was also a contest entry a few years ago.

Good news? I'm consistent if nothing else.

So you're saying your story isn't actually about April Foods?

The title is supposed to be "Milf Tails: Stiffed" Milf tails is a long running series of mine that don't feature recurring characters just the common theme of milfs and younger men. But the title came out "Mile Tails". I'm supposed to be wearing glasses whenever I read or write these days but often forget, or don't want to bother. This is a reminder of why I need to.
