The Outlook

Wanders up the beach, a slight smile curling my lip as I allow memories of my Muse to drift through my mind. I find the spot where she built the bonfire and sink down, into the sand. It is beautiful today and I am debating a swim. The deck is too far away to be seen properly but I know there are people there. Doesn't matter. With a shrug, I strip down and walk into the surf, allowing the silken coolness to revive me. Once the water is a little higher than waist deep, I dive into a small wave. The world...disappears.

Welcome back.

-Hears the words "Envigorating drink" And sheilds his Red Bull from the stranger-
"Mihh!"

Heh, brain abuse can only lead to bruised thoughts. So, I opted to make a smoothie instead of napping. Maybe the drink will invigorate me.

She rolled her eyes at James, "Fr33k, meet the noob--er newcomer, James. He's a self-proclaimed Mage. James, meet Fr33k, the silver tongued serpent," she grinned with a wink in Fr33k's direction.

*He returned her grin with a devious one of his own*

Self-proclaimed? I would think that sort of thing went without saying....

And if you gentlemen will momentarily excuse me, I'm going to take a much needed opportunity to go shower.

"Well anyone can call themselves a Mage, but it takes true knowlege of the Arcane arts to get to where I am."

She wandered back into the Outlook, having taken care of her personal affairs. She was still in her Devil ray's jersey and denim shorts. On turning the corner into the living area, she glanced around and saw Fr33k. A big childish grin overtook her face and she had half a mind to run to him and hug him. She decided against it and decided to try and control herself. She forced her smile to lessen as she wandered towards her friends silently.

She hugged Fr33k around the middle from behind.

"Hi," she whispered in his ear softly. "Missed you last night." She rested her chin on his shoulder and did not let go.

Enjoy your shower Cait...*continues to grin, dropping a wink as she departs*

And where are you, exactly? *He chuckled lightly, sipping at his smoothie, debating a refill*

Her arms fell to her sides and she took a few steps backward. That was probably too bold of her. She bowed her head. The lack of response further proved that notion. She blushed a deep red and took a few more steps back quietly whispering a quick: 'I'm sorry.'

She was frozen in the spot, embarrassed. She bit her bottom lip... she could cry: very easily. Her entire body felt hot, her fingertips cold. She sighed to try and control her emotions; her lip quivered.

James walked over cautiously with a worried look on his face.
"Are you alright?" He asked with a soft voice, gently putting a hand on her shoulder.

*His eyes swept over to her; the embrace had taken him by surprise. He smiled warmly at her* Hi there Kay. Sorry, I was a bit distracted. I was away far longer than I expected last night, sorry about that too.

*He beckoned her over to him, still smiling*

She blinked and gulped back a dry patch in her throat. She smiled a little and walked back to him.

"Not to worry," she said softly. "And I know how guys get with their video games, that's okay too..."

She giggled a little and looked him over.

"You look exhausted," she observed. "It'd be wise to get an early night, tonight, especially if you've got work tomorrow morning."

She blinked and smacked herself in the forehead.

"Of course, you don't have to," she mumbled. "I mean, if you don't want to..."

She blushed and bowed her head.

She rematerialized where she had been sitting earlier and watched the verbal exchange and Kay, but she had some notion of Fr33k so she wasn't too worried about her.

I'm tired, but nothing good company and perhaps a few drinks won't cure. *He motioned to the free seat next to him, looking up at her with the smile still intact. Something about her giggles made him smile constantly*

I do work in the morning, but not quite as early as this morning. And only for a few hours. I'll have plenty of time to catch up on sleep. Thanks for your concern, though.

Welcome back Cait. Was your shower as refreshing as it should have been?

James stood in exactly the same position as Kay walked away and didn't even acknowledge him.
He stayed like that for a few moments before noticing Cait.
"Welcome back!"

"Fr33k, I take three types of showers. One is relaxing, another is get in and get out and the last one," she smiled wickedly, " is as thoroughly satisfying as a shower can be with a handheld. This one, alas, was relaxing and I managed to grab a bite to eat and start some sourdough bread, from scratch, in the machine."

And here I thought that was only in the movies...*a soft snicker escapes his lips*

Homemade bread from scratch? Very nice.
