All I can do is try my best. The next week is going to be horribly stressful, but I suppose it will have to come to an end at least. And if it isn't good enough, all they can do is fire me, and then it won't be my problem anymore.

Yes, just do your best. I would hope that your talents would keep them from doing something so drastic. And if they are that foolish, I am certain you will find another job.

You're right. I've worked there over 3 years and this isn't the worst I guess. They do this a lot though, giving me the hardest panels to design. I suppose I should be flattered?

Perhaps they know that you will do well, and that if they put a high level of pressure on you, it might bring you to work harder, even though you already do work hard and well. I don't think they would entrust the tougher assignments to someone they just wanted to shove out the door. Though, it is kind of shady to set you up to take the fall should something happen. That's corporate mentality for you I suppose.

Maybe that's it. But I don't do well under stress, health wise. My colon is already giving me trouble lately, and this makes it worse. Do you know that I took an IQ test shortly after I started working there? I scored 136, which they said was only 5 points short of genius level. It probably doesn't mean anything, but I have good spatial orientation skills, and can think in 3 dimensions better than most. And so they do give me the harder projects, some of which I have to model in 3D programs just to visualize. It's not the difficulty, its the time pressure.

You're thoughtful and intelligent, anyone can tell that just by being around you for a bit. Yeah, I think about the risk of colon cancer sometimes. It seems that with that and the pancreas problems and borderline diabetic, I'm probably headed for a short lifespan. Then again, not nearly as short as some. *My thoughts turn to my husband of so long ago, deceased now more than 20 years. Those thoughts always bring a sadness to me. Then, hearing his question, I shake it off.*

It's hot here today, but a cold front has come through and it's nicer now.

Yeah, I'm still eating. That's not as bad as it sounds, honest. I tend to be a slow eater. I'm having stir fry chicken and veggies with ramen noodles. Rallys' sounds so good though. Down here they call them Checkers, but its the same place. Have you very had their banana milkshake?

Heh, they have both names on the bags here. No, I've not tried their banana milkshake. I'm more a strawberry fan myself. I may have to give it a go though, if you're recommending it. *Smiles and readjusts their positioning so that he's still got one arm around her, but they're sitting side by side*

I like strawberry too, and chocolate of course, but every now and then banana just hits the spot. They make theirs with real bananas, not just syrup flavoring. You should also try their onion rings. They have the same coating as their fries.
