Hey Dragon, a game of what?" I ask sounding tired.
He smirked. "It all depends on what you would want to do with me... and my reputation is far from ill, but I can't say it's fantastic either. I'll let you decide." Sitting with her, Apollo laid down and gazed up at the stars, admiring the shimmers that he has to banish from the sky every day.
I am way too lazy and burnt out to look it up, lol.Mahjongg. Look it up.
I am way too lazy and burnt out to look it up, lol.
Sure why not, I've got nothing else to lose or so it seems." I say softly. It's a game similar to poker, played with tiles instead of cards.
Setting aside her purse and sandals, she leaned back on her hands, looking up at the sky then down at him, "What is your true name, Apollo?" She asked softly. The light breeze from the sea blew against her hair, lifting it slightly. It ruffled the flower tucked into her auburn locks.
"Adrian."
Apollo turned his head and looked up at Caitlin, giving her a warm smile before reaching over and stroking her cheek. "Thank you for asking..."
"Adrian," she said his name softly, "I think I like that better than Apollo." She glanced back up at the night sky, allowing his hand to fall away from her cheek, "I've heard it said that if not for the stars the weight of the night sky would crush us."
"That is true..." Apollo gazed upward again. "The stars are my brothers and sisters, using their strength to keep the darkness from consuming this world until I arrive to drive it away. Heh... I hope they're alright..." Sitting up, he brush his fingers through his hair once again before looking at Caitlin.
"I'm sorry, but I just can't seem to stop looking at you." He smiled.
She laughed suddenly, amused, "Never seen a woman with red hair before, Adrian?" His words, spoken moments ago, finally sunk in, "Wait. Are you telling me you're a ....a... god? One of the Elden ones to be exact?"
Apollo chuckled. "I have seen women with red hair before. I prefer it, actually..." At her sudden realisation of who he was, the Sun God smiled and shrugged. "I don't know much about the Elden Ones... see, in this world, there many gods and goddesses. I just happen to be one of them."
Then he grinned. "Why do you ask? Is there something you find wonderful about me? I don't think there is, to be honest."
Smiling softly, Apollo moved closer to Caitlin, only slightly. "Yes, we will definitely have to rectify that problem... and maybe more, if you're interested..." He gently kissed the soft skin of her shoulder, keeping his gaze upon her.
"So, Lady Caitlin... since you have a chance to do anything you desire with a god... what will you do?"
Her head tipped slightly to one side as she felt his lips on her shoulder. She lowered her head and gazed into his eyes, smiling gently, "I'm going to say good-night and thank you for sharing your time with me and in the morning, when I rise and feel the sun upon my skin, think of you."
Smiling, Apollo nodded. "Very well. Goodnight, Caitlin... I hope my light brings all the warmth you desire." Slowly, he rose from the blanket and began to head back to the Outlook. Caitlin would need it more than he did.
He leapt onto the deck and reclaimed his spot, relaxing once again.
The lone elf nods to the warrioress as she passes, "Good night my friend." he says softly. She watched him go with a smile. Reaching for her purse and her sandals, she stood, gathering up the blanket, shaking it out and folding it. On her way out, she handed it to a waiter with instructions to return it to Adrian. She shook her head briefly, her smile still in place. What would she do with him? Another time, gods willing, she would answer that question to their mutual satisfaction.
my footsteps draw me again to the sea. I find myself again sitting on a rock, looking out at the waves. Remembering how freed I felt the morning before and compare it to how different I feel now.
I awaken from sleep with a start. I hadn`t meant to doze here. With a sigh, I replace my empty cider mug and stretch, looking for all the world like the disgruntled wolf I named myself. My eyes turn toward the beach.
No time for a swim. Not really. With another sttretch and a wide, jaw cracking yawn, I make ready to depart for home. Chairs are not made for sleeping.
