The pain had become unbearable so long ago, but somehow he had not yet passed out. What a curse. Every now and then a moan would escape his lips as would a vision of his wife smiling in his direction. His most beloved thing in this world was also the only thing that brought him his will to live, that and his young son who he promised himself he would return to. But, as weeks passed now, at least he believed it was that, he had begun to lose hope of ever seeing them again. At first one will most likely deny reality and their fate, as he had as well, but eventually the reality will catch up to them. He knew this was a risk of undertaking such a risky mission, but he should have been much more careful. Thoughts immediately ended as he could feel the muscles in his right shoulder tearing as his body limply hung from the chains attached to the ceiling.
Darius was a nude from the waist up and the tattered pants were barely recognizable as clothing. He was an older man, at nearly twenty eight in a harsh world, but he was as fit as a man could be. One needed to be to survive the gladiator rings of Rome. He was a tanned skin man, with a strong chest, coated in coarse hair, and one would surely call him a manly man, handsome, with a chiseled chin. He had strong legs, powerful arms, and short dark hair which drew most attention to his intense light green eyes. Darius was fit, toned, but he surely had excessive mass to him. He was a bruiser, with a firm frame, and stood at nearly six two. He had survived three years in the gladiator rings and for this he was beloved by Rome and adored by the women. But, he was faithful to his wife, who had been his long before the ring, long before he was ashamed by his superiors in the legion.
The last time he had seen someone, drank something, was a day or two ago he believed, by a torturer employed by the most powerful senator of Rome, who had somehow learned he was apart of a coup and his mission was to woo and sway the opinion of the senator's young daughter. Darius had been against the orders at first, but he was true to the cause and eventually accepted it, even if he knew it meant betraying his beloved. Darius had only seen the Senator's daughter one, but despite his love for his wife, he could not deny he wasn't attracted. However, just as he had been about to approach her he had been ambushed and carted off to this place. Now weeks, or however long, had passed and he had been tortured for answers, yet he had given none.
Bloodied, cut, torture had not gotten him to talk.
And yet now he hung from the ceiling, his arms trying to depart from his body.
