Energy and matter being made of the same stuff is a fascinating subject, but it's also a very high energy subject. We are depleting the chemical energy we need to study high energy physics. When taxpayers have a choice of funding the next nerd wankathon or feeding their own families, they tend to choose families. Physicists are also stuck on the particle model. Making energy act like particles, making something we don't understand act like something we do understand, is a very expensive way to build what may be a false picture of the universe.

All that calculation is useless because none of it works. I believe other beings arrived here before humans evolved. There is evidence of their being here including face to face meetings. So there must be a way and I think that way is to somehow fold space. Don't ask me how but that looks like the only way. As of now even Musk now realizes Mars is too far away and has turned his attention to the moon. I believe someday man will be able to catch up to voyagers 1&2 and bring them back to Earth. All we have to do is not blow Earth up.
