Not looking good for the 51st State right now. With tarriffs being put on lumber, Canada is DOOMED.

Its about time. Canada's subsidized lumber industry has crippled American Sawmills for years, but that is about to change. With our forest have been growing instead of being cut, we are poised for a really strong come-back. We have always had the market, and with 30 years of forest growth, we are just in a really good position to take care of ourselves. We just needed someone to level the playing field.

With 90% of Canada's population within 100 miles of the USA border Canada is about to sink into a depression.

I alike Canada on the world wide stage like a 13 year old boy who tags along with his father. Sure the father lets the boy talk, but its awkward at best because of his age, has no idea what he is really talking about, has got no experience in life to back up what he says, and brings nothing to the table. He thinks he is big now, being with the grownups and allowed to speak, but he does not realize he is not respected, just the adults around him being genteel enough for him to speak and make him feel like he is making a meaningful contribution. Every one present knows they can just say one harsh word and the boy will go sulking back to the kids table because there is no substance behind what he says. Everything he has is because adults allow him to have it.

That is Canada.

I realized that when they sent their Navy to help with the Persian Gulf War in the 1990's. 10 ships got lost in the fog... or a whipping 25% of their navy!! Not only did ten ships get lost in the fog no less, it was a QUARTER of their Navy.

There are already tariffs on Canadian lumber. Not putting lumber in the last round of NAFTA, vs Section 11 was the compromise made to make the deal.

Good luck with your expectations. Canada holds 38% of the worlds Boreal forests, the largest share of any country (next is Russia,good luck there) The best lumber by far for home construction. If you guys don't want it,Japan does.
