The phone rang, it was the CEO's secretary, summoning Greg to his office, rumours were rife that the company was firing the top executives for the slump in the company, five in Greg's branch had already had the walk of shame, Greg was slightly surprised when he was summoned, his figures for the year were good in the tough economic climate.
Entering the office, he looked at the beautiful secretary, who sat there smiling as she always did, not giving much away, even to those that were relieved of their duties, she gave them a "have a nice day" send off.
She pressed the intercom to announce that Greg was there, hearing the reply, Greg sat on the soft leather couch, smiling back nervously to the secretary, while waiting, his eyes cast down under the desk, and her legs, her calves were encased in the silkiness of stockings, her legs crossed, and the right foot swinging freely, her shoe under her desk. Greg had images of her toned legs without the knee high skirt. The intercom announcing for Greg to enter, bringing him back to earth, looking up, the secretary winked at him, standing, he was sure it was a wink, he had to get it out of his mind, he turned at the door, before entering the office, but she had already gone back to her computer.
With the knots in his stomach, Greg took a seat, offer to him by the boardroom table, the companies attorney was there, as well as the CEO.
"Greg, we have looked over your sales record the past 5 years your have been here with us, and they impressive. As you know, we have had to let 5 senior employees go today, but that's only here, our other branch we fired 3 more, so we would like to offer you a promotion, either here, working with the same sales team, or, back home" The CEO smiled, Greg was shocked, this was the least thing he had expected when he walked into the office, it was his dream job, he was torn between taking the office here, or back home.
Asking for time to consider his options, Greg stood, thanking the CEO for his trust, he said he would have the answer by close of business tomorrow, which was a Friday.
Walking out the office, the secretary was not at her desk, disappointed, Greg walked back to his cubicle, his smile broad, a message on his desk had him looking around, it was a scribble, *Congrats, hope you stay in town* she signed it and left her lipstick kiss on the note
