The proper distribution of powers and functions between the executive and legislative branches is an issue on which neither party has ever taken any consistent, ideological position. Generally, each party simply demands more power for whichever branch it happens to control at the moment.

But it's a timely subject to discuss now, because Project 2025 involves an immense concentration of power in the executive.
