(First post is rather long. I'm not expecting the others to quite this long :p )

Jin Mantrell: 24 years old. Average height and in good shape with light brown hair and dark brown eyes

It was a lazy summer day and after channel surfing, Jin reached for the puzzle box again. The box had belonged to his late great-aunt, who had spent her life traveling the world, gradually filling every corner of her home with an incredible collection of exotic trinkets and objects. When she had passed away without a will, the family had gathered and gone through her things, taking anything that held a special sentimental value, and giving the rest either to charity or the junkyard, whichever seemed best.

It was there that Jin had discovered the box. About twice the size of a shoebox, the exterior was made of beautifully hand-carved wood and it was obvious that a great amount of care and skill had gone into its making. While searching for a keyhole, he discovered that the pieces on the outside moved, like the tile puzzles he had played with as a kid. However, this one was far more complex, leaving him with a 200 piece puzzle that could only be moved one tiles at a time, with no idea of what the end picture was supposed to look like.

He knew there was nothing inside, as the first thing he had done was shake the box, but the challenge still nagged at him. 'Why make it so hard to open if nothing is inside?' he thought to himself. He was about to reach for the remote again when he suddenly had an epiphany. Rushing to his computer, he scanned the top of the box, and painstakingly turned each tile into its own image, allowing him to move them about freely like a jigsaw puzzle. No longer restricted to moving just one at a time, over the next few hours the image began to form. The edges were the most difficult, being mostly a series of geometric patterns, but the center formed the face of a stunningly beautiful woman. 'The puzzlemaker's wife? Maybe royalty or a goddess of some kind?' he thought.

With the final image at hand, he began the slow process of actually solving the puzzle, which turned out to be harder said than done, hitting several dead ends and being forced to start over several times. It was late into the AM hours, with dinner long forgotten, that he was finally a single tile away from solving the puzzle. Holding his breath, he slid the last tile into place, and heard a soft click from inside.

He slowly opened the lid....and found it to be completely empty. No pirate map or ancient map carved into the lid, not so much as a scrap of an "April Fool's!" note. He hadn't expected to find anything, but still couldn't help feeling just a tiny bit disappointed. He left the box open on his dining room table and went to his bedroom, falling asleep almost instantly, wondering what he would the box now.

Not everything is as it seems...

The long process of being drawn from that cold, dark emptiness was finally complete. No matter how many thousands of times Sind'li'shar was summoned...Well...It still pissed her off every damn time.

With a languid stretch and a glance about her surroundings, Sin made her way slowly through the room, following the sound of her new Master's breathing. She'd spent the last century or so just watching this new generation, and all she could hope for was that this one was as foolish as the last. At least then she'd get a chance to roam the world free for a bit before being stuffed back into that forsaken box.

In reality, the box was simply a key. The key to a hell that would drive any mortal to insanity. But it was just the equivalent of a particularly boring hotel room toa demon. Well, a succubus to be exact.

She pushed open the door with one slender hand, using the other to rake a hand through her fiery red hair, and leveling her gaze at the sleeping form in front of her.

...Well...He certainly looked like a simpleton while he slept. Time to wake him up and find out for certain.

Sin snatched a flannel shirt off the back of the door and slung it on like a robe, then delivered a swift kick to Jins bed, nearly flipping him to the floor and screaming.

"Wakey, wakey sweetie pie!!!"

Sin laughed, smirking and watching him scramble off the bed.

Jin woke up suddenly at the kick that nearly dumped him out his bed and scrambled to his feet, still fog-headed from sleep. He had snatched up his cell phone to call 911 when he noticed two things about his "attacker." The first was that she was a woman. A stunningly beautiful woman, in fact. The second was that she was almost completely naked except for one of his flannel shirts. Her face also seemed vaguely familiar somehow, someone he'd seen on the street today? Maybe a model on an ad somewhere?

With a sudden realization, he knew what this was. He had gone to sleep late last night with no dinner having spent the past day focused so hard on opening that damn puzzle box that now even his dreams were going haywire.

Relaxing, he said to the mysterious woman, "Look, normally I'd be all for a good sex dream with a beautiful redhead but how about tonight I just sleep?" He lay down on the bed and threw the covers over himself, briefly wondering about the strangeness of going to sleep within a dream before closing his eyes again.

Sin blinked, arching a brow as he dragged himself back into bed. Could he really not know what he'd done?? That was certainly a novel idea...

She crawled onto the bed, stretching out beside him and resting her cheek in her hand as she gazed at him, almost in disbelief. She reached out one black laquered, long-nailed finger and poked him in his forehead.

"Hey...Wake up meathead...Why did you summon me here?"

He felt her crawl onto the bed and stretch out next to him. He felt himself almost drift back to sleep when he felt a finger poke him in the forehead, bringing him out his sleep again. 'This is one stubborn dream,' he thought to himself. He opened his eyes again and saw her stretched out beside him on his bed, still wearing nothing but his flannel shirt.

Being this close to her, he couldn't help but quickly run his eyes over her gorgeous body, from her beautiful face down to her slim waist and long, sculpted legs. 'Only in my dreams,' he thought to himself. Looking back up her face, he was a little puzzled by her question.

He lay on his side and propped his head up on one hand as he replied, "Summon you? That's the first time I've heard it put that way. All I did was fall asleep after working on that damn puzzle box all night and finding it empty, now here you are dream-girl."

This was odd. His dreams rarely felt this vivid while he was still in them. Still, it was the only explanation. That or that this woman had decided to break into his house, strip off all of her clothing, and sneak into his room. Still, her face...he couldn't help but feel that he had seen her somewhere before. "Do I know you?" he finally asked, "I could swear that I've seen you somewhere before."

Sin blinked again, puzzling over this...He truly had no idea what he'd done or what she was...

With a laugh, Sin rolled lithely from the bed and paced slowly back and forth, looking to him, then glancing around for the box...That damned box...

She paused at the foot of his bed, hands on her shapely hips, the flannel slipping slowly down one milky white shoulder. "You don't know me, but you've seen me...I'm Sind'li'shar...You can call me Sindy, or Sin...What is your name?"

Something felt off about this dream. Things just seemed very...solid somehow. Much moreso than they typically felt when he was asleep. The more he talked, the more awake he felt, and the more he began to doubt what was actually going on. Still, the alternative, that this was really happening, was simply ridiculous. That a maddeningly familiar, beautiful woman had for whatever reason, broken into his home naked and woken him up to ask his name. He would have laughed if he had seen this in a "Dear Penthouse" letter at the unbelievability of it all.

He watched her roll off his bed and begin to pace and watched appreciatively at the sway of Sindy's hips as she paced his bedroom. 'Maybe this dream isn't so bad after all,' he thought to himself. To her question, he replied, "I'm Jin. Jin Mantrell."

Noticing that she seemed to be searching for something, he asked reflexively, "Are you looking for something?" He felt a little foolish as he had essentially just asked himself a question.

Sin smirked at the name...Jin? As in....Djinn? This was...Interesting, to say the least. Sin was uneasy, but then again, that was normal for her kind. Trust was definitely not their stock in trade.

She ignored the question about what she was looking for, and looked down at the drowsy man. If he was this clueless already, it shouldn't be difficult to get him to give her the box. Sooner, rather than later, she hoped.

"Jin...I see." Sin held up a finger, urging him not to interrupt this next part. "Let me clarify this situation...You're human, you don't know what the box does, and you don't know who I am...Is this all correct?"

Something nagged at his memory when Sin asked her questions. Something about the box? When was this dream going to start making sense? What was that about "You're human?"

Jin replied, "Yes, I'm human, the box doesn't do anything, and no, I don't know who you are."

He wracked his brain, trying to remember where he had seen her before. He sat, mentally cataloging the faces of every person he could remember seeing or talking to in the past few days. Definitely wasn't anyone he knew. The name was no help either.

"Look, enough with the mysteries, could you please just tell me how I know your face? And why the hell I'm dreaming you half-naked in my bedroom?"

Sindy bit her bottom lip softly, trying to stop herself from grinning...This was almost too perfect. Unfortunately, just finding the box and stealing it wouldn't do...She'd have to play this properly. With a soft sigh, Sindy raked a hand through her hair and sat down on the bed beside him, turning to look into his eyes as she spoke, keeping her voice even and slow, as if talking to a child.

"Jin...The box does do something...You know my face because it is carved into that box. It is carved into the box because that box is the key to summoning me...And you're not dreaming of me. You're seeing me because I'm here...Because when you opened the box, you called me here."

She still wasn't entirely sure he wasn't just playing her for a fool, but it didn't look that way yet.

"Jin, I'm a succubus...You know the term?" She arched a brow to go along with the question, waiting for his answer.

Jin rubbed the sleep out of his eyes and took a good hard look at Sindy's face. The skeptic in him told him that what Sindy was saying was utterly ridiculous. But there was no denying that her face was the face on the box. He thought that it might be an elaborate prank, but that idea was quickly dismissed as possibly even more ridiculous.

"So you're a 'sex demon' that some superstitious people thought up of to explain their wet dreams who's been trapped in a puzzle box I got from my great-aunt?" he asked.

But...it would explain certain things. Like her face, why someone had gone to the trouble of making the puzzle with nothing inside, and how she had appeared in his room.

His tone a little softer now, he said, "Let's say I believe you. And that I really did summon you, or call you, here. What happens now?"

Sin grinned, arching a brow and leaning back on her hands, crossing her long, naked legs over one another as she looked him over.

"Well Jin...That's up to you. Usually, I'm summoned to 'take care' of someone's enemies...Or, because someone thinks they can tame me...The latter almost never works out."

With a smirk and a wink, she leaned close, her breath hot on his neck as she whispered "Essentially...It's up to you..."

Jin swallowed hard as Sin crossed her naked legs in front of him. "Take care" of his enemies? He vaguely remembered something about succubi feeding on sexual energy, sometimes until their prey were completely drained of life. The absolute confidence with which she spoke was slowly convincing him that as unlikely as it seems, Sin was the real deal.

Having Sin so close to him, feeling her hot breath on his neck, made him intensely aware of his own body and its own "needs".

As she leaned in close to him, he nervously reached out and ran one hand up the back of her leg, relishing in the softness of her naked skin. While he didn't have "enemies" exactly, he could easily think of people the world would be better off without.

"Then it seems I should go with the former," he said. His hand traveled a little higher, towards her testing the waters. He was sure that other owners of the box must have asked this question before. Taking a deep breath, he asked, "What about something more...personal?" He wasn't sure if this was a good idea, but it couldn't hurt to ask.
